My Personal Goals

It is essential, and greatly beneficial, to set goals for ourselves. There are numerous goals I would be ecstatic to accomplish, but there are only a couple that hold my primary focus. My top priority is to succeed in a career of my choosing and, of course, make my parents feel overjoyed with pride as they witness my success. My aspiration of becoming a successful “green” architect, is one I hold very dearly. After the constant confusion throughout my life over what I wanted to be “when I grow up,” I finally decided on being a “green” architect. Being the older sister and playing the “big sister” role for my cousins has taught me to carry myself in a manner that could be looked up to. Although it is a more personal goal, I hope to be the person and example my brother and cousins work towards being. So, I am not only doing this all for myself, but I am also doing it for those I care about.
Being a leader to me is to hold numerous types of characteristics that would make you worth following. Leadership is all about setting an ideal example to those around you, and doing so by your own account. My junior year, this opportunity was shared to me fairly late as the deadline approached quickly. Knowing the high value of this opportunity, I rushed to start on the application process and contacted teachers for recommendations. I stayed up to finish the essay for the application, and excessively edited multiple times. After rushing to prepare the application and later practicing for the interview, I was accepted. However, the work had only begun because I did not expect the workload ready to laid on me by my first college professor. Throughout the month of being in my first real college course, I went through sleepless nights and breaks at work dedicated to homework. My social life the first month of summer vacation, was almost nonexistent because I was so dedicated to do well in my Latino Studies course. Thankfully, after overly stressing for a month I earned the A I had prayed for continuously. Despite the exhaustion and worry I underwent, I am definitely more than glad I applied to the program and proud of myself for not caving in under
