It is essential, and greatly beneficial, to set goals for ourselves. There are numerous goals I would be ecstatic to accomplish, but there are only a couple that hold my primary focus. My top priority is to succeed in a career of my choosing and, of course, make my parents feel overjoyed with pride as they witness my success. My aspiration of becoming a successful “green” architect, is one I hold very dearly. After the constant confusion throughout my life over what I wanted to be “when I grow up,” I finally decided on being a “green” architect. Once I analyzed my strengths and my passions, it was clear to follow a career path that required problem solving, mathematical skills, creativity, and a passion for art and conservation of our planet. …show more content…
Being the older sister and playing the “big sister” role for my cousins has taught me to carry myself in a manner that could be looked up to. Although it is a more personal goal, I hope to be the person and example my brother and cousins work towards being. So, I am not only doing this all for myself, but I am also doing it for those I care about.
Being a leader to me is to hold numerous types of characteristics that would make you worth following. Leadership is all about setting an ideal example to those around you, and doing so by your own account. Although I lack in social skills, I have continuously worked to be a role model and leader for those in my community, school, and

My junior year, this opportunity was shared to me fairly late as the deadline approached quickly. Knowing the high value of this opportunity, I rushed to start on the application process and contacted teachers for recommendations. I stayed up to finish the essay for the application, and excessively edited multiple times. After rushing to prepare the application and later practicing for the interview, I was accepted. However, the work had only begun because I did not expect the workload ready to laid on me by my first college professor. Throughout the month of being in my first real college course, I went through sleepless nights and breaks at work dedicated to homework. My social life the first month of summer vacation, was almost nonexistent because I was so dedicated to do well in my Latino Studies course. Thankfully, after overly stressing for a month I earned the A I had prayed for continuously. Despite the exhaustion and worry I underwent, I am definitely more than glad I applied to the program and proud of myself for not caving in under
The first leadership role I would like to mention is my role as an assistant teacher/helper during the summer at our local Boys and Girls Club. The next leadership role I would like to mention is my role as a VBS teacher at my church in Starkville, Ms. I would like to be able to acquire more leadership roles and such in the future to further my leadership horizon. ~What Being a Leader Means to Me~ There are some key things that make a leader a leader to me. The first one is not panicking in the presence of mistake or failure. The second thing is a strong sense of courage and willingness to lead with pride.
I will be able to grow as a student and as a leader, by receiving this opportunity. I am a bit of an introvert at first, and by pushing myself to aim high, this pushes me out of my comfort zone into unfamiliar territory. This can teach me to strengthen my conversation skills and my ability to socialize others. I will grow as a student by constantly reinventing and strengthening my beliefs and values. I will grow as a leader by improving my leadership skills and constantly practice them throughout the school year.
As a child I always desired to study math and science. There is just something about solving problems, and finding solutions that catches my attention. Learning about the world, and how it function is very interesting to me. These subjects have help keep me wondering what I could learn next, and the reason being that I am a scholar in my classes. One accomplishment that I am proud of is being on the A&B honor roll.
This process was very stressful as the more I thought about it the more I realized how much this one acceptance can affect my whole future. It was also difficult to find time to write an excellent application while maintaining school work and balancing extracurriculars, such as piano, tennis, russian, and other school clubs as this was during the busiest time of year for me. I applied to the Ocean Lakes Math and Science Academy and the Princess Anne International Baccalaureate program. I was very pleased to hear that I had been accepted into both, however the decision in the end was not easy. Although this was one of the most stressful events that most significantly shaped my eighth grade year, due to the environment around me once I had made my decision to go the the math and science academy my feelings of stress soon turned into feelings of relief.
To me, leadership mean being responsible and someone who can manage time really well. A leader can walk their followers to the right path of success. Someone who is in control because of their personality of trustworthiness and always deliberative from the world which is unpredictable. I currently exhibit leadership while working on any project for my college or high school classes. I take the role of a leader and always work diligently enough to get good compliments from peers and instructors.
I was taught to work hard and never give up. Leadership is also a very important pillar in the National Honor Society. A leader is a person who guides others with their actions or words and influences others in a positive way. I feel that I am a leader in many ways. I participate in many different
You always behave, get work done on time, respect others, show your manners, and etc. Being a leader means you set a certain criteria for everyone around you and not show them what they should be, but show them that they have the potential to be that and more. To be a leader you must be supportive of your peers, help those in need when possible, you must be able to preserve through adverse situations with critical thinking, and above all inspire yourself and others to strive for the best of their
As for being a leader in my family, I did not choose to be one; I automatically became a leader the moment my little sister was born. My little sister would inevitably look up to me as a role model. She would follow my example, and that is the reason why I needed to be a strong leader and leave a good example to follow. I am not perfect and have made numerous mistakes, but I have attempted to be a good role model. I will also become a leader in my family by setting a precedent as the first family member to attend college and earn a
I realize now that I cared more about my GPA and scores than actually learning. Being a member of the National Honor Society has reignited my passion for education. Surrounding myself with peers and advisors who are able to do well in school and also have a love for knowledge and learning has inspired me to revert to my elementary school self and begin to enjoy the privilege of learning in school and at
Deciding to attend Texas A&M University was both a hardship and immense, opportunity in my life. Coming from a close knit background, and possessing a very family oriented character, my decision to come to this incredible institution was one out of my comfort zone. If I was to be asked one year ago, If I could ever see myself standing on this marvelous campus, attending one of the top schools in the nation, I would have honestly responded, no. My counselors would have said no, my friends, my college advisor, my family. The answer would not have been yes, not because I wasn 't capable of meeting the standards to attend, but because there seemed more obstacles in my way than there was forces pushing me forward.
Being a leader involves many different characteristics. A leader must set the example for all others in the group, because if they are to show up late to practice, there isn’t a reason that any of the other members should not do the same. A leader must take risks for the benefit of the group as well as make sacrifices for it. Becoming the leader of the group requires for them to be the most dedicated. They must work harder and not be afraid to lead the group.
I believe leadership can be represented by both an individual or a group. This year I was chosen to be captain for both basketball and football cheerleading. Because I was captain, I had to lead the other cheerleaders by teaching underclassmen the cheers, choosing which cheers we did, and arranging practices for the team. I not only find myself as a great leader in cheerleading, I also find myself to be a great leader in track. Because I start so many events, I am always staying after practice to practice starting blocks.
I continued to struggle the remainder of my sophomore year while my mom fought for me to attend Landmark with my brother. After months of fighting, interviews and applications I was finally accepted into the school that would help me become academically
Introduction Leadership is the art of empowering people around you to achieve a goal. As a leader I want to help others become leaders themselves. I firmly believe that by leading based on my values this will be accomplished. I have had many leadership influences throughout my career. Some of them showed me the way I wanted to someday lead and others showed me exactly how not to.
At this time in our very lives we are planning for the future and making a ladder for ourselves of goals to reach. As you climb higher on the ladder you find yourselves aspiring to take actions that may be more difficult than we imagined. This is just the beginning and we do not give up. As the years come faster I made a list of the things that I am planning on persuing. My major career goal is to go into buisness, and within the buisness industry I want to become a Human Resources Manager.
