Mission Statement and Personal Philosophy Shannon Girnun 12Q Personal Philosophy My personal philosophy of life is to be kind, generous, helpful and honest. I strive as much as I can to be like this and go by the saying if I want other people to be nice to me I must be nice back, “ what goes around comes around”. I believe that life is about growing, whether it be physically or mentally, by doing this we continually learn more and more about ourselves, who we are and what we are about. Life can be scary and life can be full of hardships but, I believe that in order to succeed in life you must see hardships and bad times as just another obstacle or challenge to get through and I try see things in as much of a positive manner as possible. Quotes such as “It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light” , “Change your thoughts and change your world” and “Believe you can and you’re halfway there” all inspire me and keep me in a positive frame of mind as well as the words and meanings from these quotes match up with many of my beliefs. There are also people who inspire me to do better such as my parents who have instilled many great values and belief systems in my life and also lead by such a great example. I also believe in honesty from other people as trust plays a big part in my life. I believe that having a healthy body leads to a healthy mind and this is why I enjoy sport , particularly cricket. I enjoy playing sport because I strongly believe that
The Sports I play are Football and Basketball. I know and believe that I can do any sport or any classes. There was an incident this year that a kid fell in a gorilla pit at a zoo and a gorilla named harambae dragged him by his the kids leg, so the zoo had to shoot him. The Reason i think of having a good education is a good thing for life.
I believe that no one should be stuck with a bad rollercoaster ride. I believe in being optimistic and making the best out of the worst situations. I believe in making others
Life is all about making decisions. Making the right decision that positively affects yourself and others, and trying your best not to make the wrong choices that may negatively hurt yourself and others. The most important factor in why people choose to do something is of how it affects themselves and the other people around them because the outcome of the decision for them and others, in the end, helps mainly determine the choice for the person or persons. Paragraph #1:
Additionally, sports are extremely important in building one’s character through hard work, learning to work with others on a team and by learning how to cope with the joy of winning and the inevitability of losing. One thing to know about any sport is that there is no free ride. You earn recognition, all your playing time, and a starting position through hard work. I grew up playing all kinds of different
This kind of philosophy is something that you can get only from sports, but I’m only interested in playing one sport. Or should I say, lucky for my dear parents, I only want to play one sport. How could you possibly pick just one, out of all the variety? It was a challenge, but I managed to pick softball.
Many people come across roadblocks through their journey of life. I know I've had my fair share of them. The biggest bump in my academic life was changing it completely upside down. Growing up african American or with any skin that holds the slightest of pigment is not easy, but that's obvious due to our nation's past. Racism and stereotypeing has always been there.
I have experienced many situations and endured a multitude of experiences throughout my life. It is through these experiences that I have been able to learn a great deal about myself. Since I was young, I have always set astronomically high goals and expectations for myself. This was largely in part due to the strong upbringing from my parents, who taught me what is right and wrong, and instilled very strong personal values, along with a continued ideal of community service. These values helped forge me into who I am today.
In my brief life, I have overcome a lot of adversity. My mom fled Mexico with her three young children to escape domestic violence. When we came to this country we had only a few personal belongings and the promise of a better future. We came to this country and lived in a small trailer with no toilet other than a bucket, and no shower except for the one that was lent to us from the kindness of a stranger, our new neighbor. As a single parent, my mother had to work day and night to support us.
Living in hope, with our beliefs, and with little expectation of others is the way forward. My parents, simple and honest human beings, have high expectations of me, wishing that I too, like them, grew up to be an honorable person. Martin Luther King’s life inspires the determined and I agree that to give up on life or stop is deplorable. Irrespective of the hurdles, to push ahead with all one’s might is the only way to succeed. Living this philosophy, my father, a genuine rags to riches story, altered my life, leading by example and encouraging me to follow the path of righteousness.
My motivation, passion, and belief summarize My Legacy. Within this essay, I will illustrate three points that explain explaining My Legacy. The three points, A Good Example, Live My Strength, and Blocking Time, apply to my personal, professional, and educational beliefs. Growing up, my parents always expressed setting a good example for my younger brother. Until he is able to create incredible opportunities for himself, I committed myself to setting a good example for him.
My last reason is that it improves self-esteem levels; helps improve self-confidence and helps kids deal with pressure. This is why I believe competitive sports should be a part of all kids’ lives. One major reason demonstrating why kids should play
I am so thankful for everything I have in my life, like my family and friends, and reminding myself of that gives me a positive outlook on life. When something goes wrong, I am quick to remind myself that it can be worse, and that everything will be fine. I know that many more people have it hard out there, but appreciating what I have brings happiness into my life. My friends also give me joy, making me laugh about every little thing in our conversation. When we talk about the future, no one is pessimistic.
My Personal Mission Statement. It is my mission to live a life of positivity, integrity, compassion and gratitude. To remain committed to my Jewish values and way of life. And to make the world a more meaningful place through developing significant relationships with those around me.
The attributes of a good systems engineer in the Gentry Lee video encouraged me to think about how capable I would be of fulfilling all of the responsibilities of that job. It also encouraged me to think about how well I work within a team to complete a project or task. Although I meet many of the attributes, I don’t meet them all, and I believe that I may not be suitable for a systems engineering job without some alterations to my personality and habits.
Merriam-Webster dictionary defines ethics as, “the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation.” Righteousness and virtuous are a few words I would use to define the term ethics. But where do our ethics truly arise from? From birth, we begin to learn things from our homes and community that shapes the way we view things. The cycle of socialization as describe by Bobbie Harro in Readings for Diversity and Social Justice plays a huge role in determining what values and ethics we carry on throughout our lifetime.
