That day, I held trash bags for my mom to place our clothes and utensils in. We went straight to her sister's apartment to stay in a place already filled with six people. During those years, our location fluctuated between his house and my mother's home because of his unkempt promises. He eventually convinced her to sale her house in order for use to move in with him and buy a new
I was sitting before my telly on the first Saturday in May 1994. A few months before, my parents had moved into their own home. It wasn 't a Hollywood Hills ' mansion but it was theirs and they were proud.
It was a hot day in June when my husband pulled into our driveway with a huge U-Haul truck. A few friends came to help load our meager belongings into the
One of my best moments ever was going to Florida. There were so many things to do. We were in Naples, and I got to do some very fun things. I got to go to Sky Zone and it was my birthday, so I got to go to the mall and get a new pair of shoes. Another was that my sister and mother weren’t there to bug me.
The end of our middle school days. At 4 p.m., I started to dress myself up for the 8th grade school dance. My sister came back from college that weekend to help me do my makeup, since this was the first official school dance I was attending. It was exciting to go to the party, but I was a
It was a hectic day. My friend had to call and have his grandparents pick him up which took about 45 minutes because they lived kind of far away. During that time, my dad told me “pack your bags, we need to go visit your grandmother” I remember that I didn’t pack much because I couldn’t think. My mom immediately booked us plane tickets to Portland. It was super close but we made the flight.
In the summer of 2012, was when I was leaving for Virginia. A lot had happened in the previous months before this moment. Things such as my mom getting a new car, getting a new dog, my mom having a heart attack, and so on. Over everything that was happening, the biggest thing was moving across country from Arizona. Although, the hardest part for me was leaving my dad behind.
The day was June 25th around 8 years ago it was my birth-day. On this day I had a hockey tournament in the middle of the summer. Where you may be thinking how is there a hockey tournament in the midst of summer, count myself included. My father practically had to drag me out of the house as if I was two years of age. When we got to the rink we played or game but nothing really happened.
It had been three years since the Dust Bowl Drought started and it was really affecting my family. My mom, Laurie had to really work hard to support the family and help to play for house repairs that we needed after all of the storms hit. My father, Jonathan worked on the farm right behind our house to try to keep me, mom, and him fed. It was 3:00 I had just got home from school and my parents were still working. I walked inside to see what was cooking, dad had chicken pot pie in the oven.
Florida This year my family went to Florida. It was our first family trip, and my only trip that I actually got to go on a plane! My grandpa was over at our house and he was giving my mom some flowers to put out on our patio, and I was in my room. When my mom and grandpa started a conversation about Florida.
Tuesday afternoon. I was reading a book and drinking a cup of hot chocolate in my room, near the window. It was January, but everything looked so calm and nice outside. Suddenly, I heard my mom calling my name and she told me that we need to talk.
The trip to Florida. Orlando to be exact. We had been planning this trip for a while. My whole family hopped in the new car we bought about a month ago. It was already beginning to look like the car we had before.
Hit My First Home Run of The Year I was in the middle of my baseball year when I was 9. We never lost one game. It was a blistering summer day. They had a camera so that anyone could see me play. My family in Arizona was watching me play.
August 14th, the day when it really hit me that I would be moving into college in one week. Up until that point I was really really excited! Although I was still excited the nerves started to kick in, I felt that I was not prepared to start a whole new chapter of my life and that there was still so many things that I needed to do, so honestly I started to panic a little bit, but that is just between me and you, no one else knew that I was stressing so bad. The Monday before move in day comes and now I realize that I seriously need to start getting ready, so finally I start packing everything in my room to make sure that I do not forget anything, but at the same time I have no clue what to pack seeing as this is my first time ever packing for college. The day finally gets here, move in day, all at the same time I am nervous, excited, sad and happy.
When I was only a couple of months old my mom and I were stuck in an airport due to delayed flights. The only luggage we had was my diaper bag and a backpack full of baby toys. I was miserable and cranky the whole entire time which didn’t make my mom feel better. At the time I had no idea what was going on but now that will be stamped in my memories forever.
