Have you ever heard of the underdogs? It connects to my story because it all started when Scott has joined the ranked 58th team in Nevada. Ranked 58th in whole Nevada isn’t that good but there would be someone who carries the team to get higher. Scott had also just moved to Nevada from Texas so everything seemed wrong on how the game is played and how people react to him on the team. When he first arrived, the team was desperate on someone to carry the team to at least rank 40. No way Scott could carry the team but what he didn’t know is that he made a huge affect on the team. It was already gametime and our formation for the game was a 4-1-4-1 like our last game but this time I didn’t start. I thought to myself, “WHAT? This team needs me in order to win.” It was already 15 minutes to the game and I never even got to play yet. “Coach. When am I gonna go in?” “Until you learn and tell me how you are gonna share the ball this game.” “Coach I promise I will share the ball and take care of my family out on the …show more content…
I subbed on and we had a throw in on the opponent's side and it was still 0-0 so I knew I could at least tie this game somehow. My teammate passed me the ball and I had another 1v2 situation with James on the outside ready for a ball and I knew this time what I need to do. I thought to myself, “If I can do my signature move (faint left go right) then I can do this and score.” I tried to do my move and it worked but then the last defender came in hard and slide tackled me hard enough for me to fall on my face. Kinda deserved it though because I never realized that James was wide and would have scored. James then said, “Scott!! Give my the dang ball. You always do this and it’s annoying. Start sharing the ball or else I won’t pass to you!” “Sorry James,” I said in a sad voice. And that was the first half of the
We received the kick with me in the back field I caught the ball as a fair catch because I didn't have anyone to block. Brady wise was or Quarterback The first play was a 7 yard post to Nate Rob it was tipped and picked off by their safety. Luckily Jerome Sedillio was there to make the tackle. Brady and Nate are at the corner position with Jerome at safety. The offense is lined up at there 10.
Then we went and ran over how to tackle low since I was on defense this game not on offense where I would be a running back. But after that me and some of my friends were in a little group and we said that we might lose but we have a little chance of winning. It finally came to the start of the game
The time has come, baseball season is in full swing! Now that basketball has long since ended, it’s time for America’s greatest pastime to begin. Not to knock other sports, but come on. What’s more American than baseball, hot dogs, peanuts, and Crackerjacks? Captained by the Clark brothers Matt and Cam, the Panthers look to improve on their weak record of last Spring (two, maybe three wins?) and compete in a high powered Mayflower League.
The referee blows his whistle and I start to lead the ball down the court. I glance over and see a split down the middle of the court, exactly what we needed. I dribble the ball the middle of the paint, right as I see the defenders start to cut me off. I make a sharp cut, turn, and pass the ball right to my shooting guard. He takes the ball in his hand and swiftly goes up and makes the three.
We lost our first game of the season. That game chanleged us all. Would continue to stare at the dirt or reach for the stars. We continued to strugle as team. It was my turn to take charge as a leader for this team, but I letting everything just go bye.
Almost immediately after I was subbed out, Edison scored with 30.6 seconds left. We failed to score again. 25-26, 23.3 seconds left. Edison ran down the court with the intention of running the clock out, but they made a bad pass! Destin made it down the court before everyone else, and Jayden chucked him the ball!
When Cal went missing one of the many times, Lonnie had to step up and coach the boys at one of the important games of the Championship tournament. “It’s got to have a leader. ”(Myers 105). However, Lonnie still had stripes to earn. “I had to come to practice ready to show Cal that I wanted to take care of business.
My own body had failed me and I had failed the team. I 'm sure it didn 't seem like a big deal to anyone else but it was to me because I had faced this forward many a time and he had never flat out beaten me like that. It meant that if he could beat me then all the other offensive people on other teams could also beat me just as easy. After the game it was all I could think about.
I was sitting on the bench in the last inning of our fourth game wondering if I was ever going to get to play when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to see my coach gazing down at me. He gave me a sly grin and said, "get a helmet, you 're on deck. " I had to swallow my shock. I jumped up and hurried over to the on deck circle.
He was talented, The coach subs the man who couldn't defend Andrew and subbed me in. The team passed me the ball I dribbled rapidly to start a fastbreak. Andrew tried steal it from him I span around him and gave my teammate a alley oop. People on the bench started to gaze at me.
The next Quarter come and goes and there's 30 seconds on the clock. And the score is Dallas 42 And Patriots 45. As were in the huddle, last play says the QB let’s make it count. The ball is snapped and the ball is now in my arms. It was a clear gap to the endzone
The first game arrived, and expectedly, no playing time. Second game, same result. It did not take long for me to figure out that splinters, not the opposing team, would be my toughest challenge during the season. As the bond between the bench and I grew stronger each game, I began to question my role and importance
Kieran has a cousin in the NBA. Luke can run a mile in under six minutes. I also saw how Tyler, my brother, interacted with kids on his team and how they forged friendships through baseball. As a team we had many ups and downs. We won close games; we lost close games.
I looked around there were flags we had not been set long enough. That brought the ball back with .07 seconds and we snapped it john took my spot and snapped me the ball i was stuck there was no hole to run through so john pushed me in the process of being crushed i fell backwards. We lost. We went and did the usual thing after and in the huddle everyone was mad that i didn
Just 2 minutes left the sun half way set, the crowd cheering and most of all the scouts not blinking paying attention to every detail, play and decision each one of us makes, I see the ball come off the rim and the other team grab the rebound and their other play already across the court just past half court I knew what I had to do. With no thought or anything I break out running across the court chasing their player knowing he was going for a fast break lay-up I knew I could catch there was no doubt about it but the question was would I block the ball or not I can feel the eyes staring at us curiously wonder what will happen. Just like I predicted I see his hand turn upside down getting ready to lay it up I take 2 more steps and leap as hard as I can towards the ball staring at the ball and nothing else all I cared about was saving my team from those 2 points and looking good on the court and on that stats sheets, that was a decision I would later pay for. I did what I had practice and done hundreds of times before at the park I swat my hand towards the ball as hard as I can, I hear when my hand hits it and it bounces off the backboard not thinking about my landing instead of preparing for the fall I prepare myself to start running back across court but that wouldn’t happen when I landed I felt a pop in my knee’s
