I focused more on passing a class rather than boosting my writing skills. Now that I am in college, I take writing seriously. Throughout the years, my writing process has drastically changed. As a writer, I will continue to advance my writing skills. Prewriting is significant when preparing for an essay, although this step is most of the time ignored.
When I first came into English 1101, I had no confidence in my writing. I didn’t know if I was writing correctly or even forming an essay correctly, also I had trouble with research papers and the process of writing these kinds of essays. I would often feel overwhelmed and embarrassed because I was never taught how to write any essay correctly. I thought to myself, how could I have not known how to write? Writing should have been something so first nature to me, but through the help of Mrs. Hermanson and her positive attitude, eager teach, and nurturing nature, I felt unafraid to make mistakes, I became more confident in my writing and ready take on the world of writing.
Her main audiences are teachers, students, counselors, principals, or other professionals. At times, other universities are also her main audience. She uses her writing skills into her profession by writing reports, helping students apply for college, emailing professors or colleges. Exit Essay Before fall semester started my writing skill were not the best as my high school was not as strict in writing structure. The way I write has gotten sloppy and careless but I saw some improvement this fall semester In semester in English 1301, I have relearn grammar and sentence structure. In my writing at first I with many part of sentence structure and grammar. Trying to not mess up in structure I was unable convey my ideas. Over the course of the semester it has became easier by every essay.
For instance while thinking about the synthesized essay and the amount of resources needed to write it, I made a plan which helped me manage everything on time. Planning for the structure of my essay helped me use a good amount of recourses and write a good essay. Since I am still in my Freshman year I think that such skills are going to be very helpful in the future. I think that I will be using what I learned from this course in many other courses including, Surveying lab, writing 204, and many other courses. This shows how significant this course
I have already placed these two areas with my personal life and children. These skills have aided me in assisting my children with their homework and with co-workers. 7. Has this course prepared you to compose further college-level writing for future courses? This course has prepared me for future college-level writing courses.
My view on writing has changed drastically. I have a new respect for authors and readers alike. I used to feel that English and literature were very un-manly and usually pointless; but now I feel that writing is for everyone. They say “The weakest pencil remembers more than the strongest mind,” and now I see this in a different light. After writing things such as the Autobiographical Essay and Comparison- Contrast Analysis really open up my spectrum of writing.
ENC 1102 was a challenging course I had to overcome. As I was walking into class day by day, I learned and picked up something new each day. I considered myself a low-skilled writer, but after this class I can say I’ve improved my writing techniques tremendously. Although this class didn’t teach me everything I wished, this course did teach me how to research, how to write a thesis statement, and open/closed form essays, which I would carry throughout my career.
I gave it a shot but wasn’t sure how I felt about it. Eventually the idea grew on and I started to write in my free time. In 5th grade I realized writing was my passion. I like writing all types of things, whenever I had to write an essay for a class, I would get excited. My teacher taught us the importance of imagery in writing.
I also planned to read a lot and spending more time in composing my essays by going through multiple drafts. Unfortunately, I didn 't followed out my initial plan as much I wanted to. I believe my plan is realistic, however the real problem is that I 'm lack of motivation. I know why I should work hard for my classes but I often find it difficult for me to motivate
This is important because most courses in college have writing in them. As the semester has progressed, I have slowly started to understand where I am with writing and where I need to improve. Revising my essays is a great way to learn from my mistakes. Although my writing is not great yet I am slowly improving
My teacher really has my fellow classmates and myself ready for reality. She taught us everything we needed to know from the simplest to the most difficult techniques and has us prepared us for college. From the way she would teach us and also the way she treated us was an excellent way to show how the real life of a college student really does face on a daily bases. I’ll leave the class by having the prior knowledge of knowing what and how to write an argumentative essay and know how to simply justify the reading side and confront my face my fierce. This year taught me so much that I use certain techniques to help me in other subjects.
