Countless different roads to travel and somehow I chose the darkest, gravel road, the first mistake of that night. My conference cross country race was the following morning, one of the most critical races of the season, yet I was out driving on an obscure road. Late-night driving with one of my good friends, Kav, seemed like an amusing idea but as I turned onto that gravel road, the events that followed only went downhill, literally. The story began the night before the race, the entire team was together for a team dinner. Laughter filled the house as my teammates and I were having fun, enjoying all sorts of entertainment together. The festivity didn’t last long as everyone headed home, wanting to prepare for the next morning. Since the night was still young, Kav and I decided it was an ideal night for an adventure. We left the dinner, turned the volume dial up to a deafening pitch …show more content…
The conversation between us flowed effortlessly, fluctuating from topic to topic as we talked about anything and everything. Time continued to pass as we got lost in the conversation and accustomed to the swaying car as we rounded the corners on this perpetual road. We had driven an immense amount before we realized how late it was and agreed it was time to turn around. Kav and I had noticed the road was very confined, resulting in not much space to turn around. Kav, knowing this route better than me, mentioned there might be an opening to turn around in further up the road. I, only having six points deducted from my drivers test 3 months prior to this, responded, “Don’t worry, my y-turn skills are proficient”, I then proceeded the steps of completing a y-turn. My lack of knowledge about this narrow road was quite conspicuous when I put my car in reverse and backed directly into the ditch. The level of embarrassment I had reached that night was atrocious as the heat rose to my face and Kav’s detectable laugh filled my
It started to all look the same after a while. The same hotel buildings over and over again. The sound of the waves like clockwork beating on the sand. My feet raced across the grainy substance below me, jumping from one sand bar to the next. The tide was out, creating little islands for the perfect chance to bound from one to another.
Nevertheless, fifty yards from her dearest friend Estelle Louise’s dirt driveway, the truck’s bald tires skidded across a massive oil slick. As a result, the pickup spins uncontrollably in loose circles as it continues down the middle of the narrow country road, before it finally slithers sideways and abruptly stops. She guffaws when she realized the Chevy had
“ run!” I said as a kid named James fell out of the vehicle. “More cars behind us” jones yelled. We went onto the ravidur bridge as we almost hit a Ford F-150. “Go”!
Early June sun shone bright as I set off into town. I drove down the winding road. My mind drifted into oblivion. I knew this road's every twist and turn when CRUNCH. I stepped outside to assess the damage.
And off we go. Our engines roaring as we take off. Aftyn and I love to race. I went to the left and was riding in a big open area while Aftyn went over to the right and was side hilling. I was just coming over a hill when the unthinkable happened.
Kings Island Memoir… “Are you ready for this?” I asked. “As ready as I’ll ever be.” he replied. “Let’s do this!”
The snow was coming down very hard and the highway began to be covered. We soon exited the highway to connect to a different one when we saw traffic ahead. The roads had gotten so bad that the highway was blocked off for a while. We didn’t think much of it, we still had quite a lot of time to get to the train and we had food, water, and blankets with us. The time was moving very slow just like the traffic.
June 6, 1944, Juno Beach, Normally Someone threw up, it was the same soldier who threw up 30 seconds ago, but none of us said anything because we felt like throwing up too. I was on a landing boat to Juno Beach, I could hear other soldiers shouting and firing guns. When the door opened, instead of seeing land, in front of us was deep water. Since I was in the back of the landing boat, I had a lot of time to think about jumping into the water, more than the other soldiers who were standing in the front.
I felt the excitement jolting through me when my Mom told me she and I were going to Panama City Beach, Florida for a week. We had wanted to go the since school dismissed for summer break, but had no luck finding a place to stay. Three days before we were due to leave, my mom found a good price for a beachfront condominium for the week of June eleventh through June eighteenth. I had been to Panama City Beach before, but I always enjoy returning because it is always a good atmosphere and lots of fun to explore. On my vacation to Panama City Beach, Florida this summer, I enjoyed time with my mom, going swimming, and encountering people from all over the United States.
It was December 7, 1941 in Honolulu Hawaii, It was a hot humid day. Charles and his girlfriend Darlene thought it would be a good day to go on a picnic. Charles had the day off ,but had to come back at four for the ceremony at the harbor. Darlene was fine with that because she had to go to work at the hospital at four thirty anyway. The day before Charles and his friends, Timmy, Richard, and Noah were all talking about how beautiful the hawaii beaches are, “Charles why don't you take Darlene on a picnic or something”?
Roy and William could hear the confusion in Maggie’s voice and ran to her side. Maggie held onto Betty and kept the boys by her side as she watched the hill behind. The noise started getting louder and louder. Then suddenly a bizarre black BMW came speeding down the road sending up rocks, dirt, and dust. Maggie coughed as she took in the dust.
He sat down miserably as if I had pushed him, and simultaneously there was the sound of a motor turning into my lane. We both jumped up and, a little harrowed myself, went out into the yard”
One day, I decided to visit my haven, the beach. It was one of those boiling hot day summer days, I couldn’t feel the difference between my top and my body, the sweat has emerged both together from the heat. My legs being touched by the small whips of wind. A bottle of water in hand and flip flops on my feet. I dart off the sidewalk excited to get the feel of sand between my toes.
Stubborn a proudful, I random drive to prove something to my mom blotted my tracks forward into stuffing myself into the parking space. Suddenly, this horrific sound of two cars crunching into each other. So, I did the only thing that came to mind at that moment turn away from it as quickly as possible, in return I only made it worse. I dawdled away days in
Silently, he eased himself inside at the back, while I delightedly walked over at the driver's seat, quite eager to drive such a glamorous thing in my life. As I sat down, I propped myself down, I instantly felt myself sinking down at the comforts of its cushion, then holding the steering wheel in my palm - I was amazed by how soft and smooth it was that I flushed at the idea of steering it as I drive through the busy main roads of
