You are 10 years old. It is 10:00 at night. You hear noises in your kitchen, then someone walks into your room. They put a bag over your head and take you to a house. They take the bag off and you see other children. There is a mom, a dad, a sister, a brother and you. They all look scared. The house looks like a normal house. There are three men there. They are all holding guns. One has a Glock 45, the second one has a shotgun, and the last one has an AK-47. The one with the Glock says to call him dad, the one with the shotgun says to call him uncle and the on the with the AK says call him grandpa. Every 30 minutes you hear very loud gunshots. All the doors and windows have bars on them. They give you a bed, but it feels like you are sleeping on nails. You constantly hear gunshots. Your ¨mom¨ wakes wakes you up the next morning. You walk into the kitchen and you see a plate of eggs, she says ¨take two and go sit down¨. You finish eating, but then ¨grandpa¨ comes and tells you follow him. You go into the basement and you see about 5 children down there. They all are at sowing machines. ¨Grandpa¨ gives you a stick and says ¨if they talk wack them¨. ¨grandpa¨ goes up stairs, they start talking, you remember what he said, but you don't want to hurt anyone. …show more content…
He grabs you by the arm and takes out side. An old rusty grey van pulled up. ¨Dad¨ says go grab my package from the van. You grab it and almost drop it from how heavy it is. Your veins are popping out of your arms. You finally put it in the garage. While you are outside you find a spot that you can escape from. That night you tell your ¨brother¨ about
The surroundings look unattractive. We start to hear running footsteps that grow louder. This continues for a split second until -- BANG!!! A GUNSHOT restores the silence.
One came in front with a half brick. There was one at each side of me, and one behind me. While I was attending to those in front, and on either side, the one behind ran up with the handspike, and struck me a heavy blow upon the head. It stunned me. I fell, and with this they all ran upon me, and fell to beating me with their fists.
The sky is covered in a black blanket with shiny holes in it. It is 4 in the morning. I flop out of bed and waddle outside and into the car. There are two chairs for three people. I have a bed to sleep on while my dad drives and my mom sits on the other chair.
A human sized toy castle. I dashed around the store looking for any pillows and blankets to put in it. As I was fixing up my “room” i heard a sound. It sounded like something was calling my name. “Jennyyyyy, Jennyyy” it would say in a faint voice.
All seemingly male, they tower at varying heights of between six to eight feet, and despite the apparent lack of flesh, their bodies are broad and toned with muscle. Their faces are all the exact same: lacking a nose, mouth, facial hair, and resemble that of a bald mid-20s to early 30s man with cold, dark red eyes that contain nothing but see everything. The bullets that achieve contact with them only ricochet off their bodies like pebbles on a lake. To my right, I feel an unnatural presence forming into existence. I turn to see a young woman cradling her lifeless son’s head, shaking him, begging him to wake up.
I asked which one of them is going to fight me, they all laughed and they slowly walked towards me. One of them tried to take a swing at me and I dodged it and I tried to fight back. I was holding my ground and before I knew it I was surrounded and the five of them hit, kicked, and spat on me.
I see my family they are all in a room alone. After I see them I am pulled hit against a wall then dropped. Next I am hit with a turkey, then a bowl of mashed potatoes. The man yells “Happy thanks giving!” I am now in a field with a small barn in the middle.
They saw we had a gun.”” “”They left their food cooking.”” “”Yes.”” “”Let’s take a look.”” “”It’s really scary, Papa.”” “”There’s no one here. It’s okay””
He pulls me out of the booth and tells one of the ladies to bring him an emergency blanket. The she walks up he snaches the blanket out of her hand and rushes me and the blanket outside and all I can hear is the faint sounds of my aunt and uncle screaming.
As far as childhoods go, I can reasonably say that mine was atypical. At the time, my childhood was like a fantasy shrouded in sunlight, grass stains, and an indescribable warmth that can only be called love. However, looking back with what I know now, I realize it was so much better and so much worse than that. An important part of who I am comes from the fact that I live on top of a hill without another house for two miles in any direction. That meant my five siblings
Soon after that, the man jumped out the car, out of nowhere I felt two hands grab both of my weak arms and pulled me out of the van. This time I was going without a fight, I jerked around and struggled, twisting my body, trying so hard so at least get my hands free from the firm grip of the two people who had pulled me out of the van. I was screaming throw the cloth that was around my mouth and tears that soaked the blindfold. As I struggled more the two people that had me by the arm there grips were getting tighter and tighter around my arms trying to keep their grip on me. It was pointless they were much bigger than me
Korean is my mother tongue. I find not a lot of Korean nurses or nurse practitioners at hospitals in Bay Area. For example, there are no Korean physicians or NP around my area, so my parents used to drive 25 minutes to see a Korean doctor. The doctor, however, is now moved to another state. My parents have to have an interpreter when they see their current nurse practitioner.
“I'm looking for a fixer-upper with a solid foundation. Am willing to tear down walls, build bridges, and light fires. I have great experience, lots of energy, a bit of that "vision thing" and I'm not afraid to start from the beginning.” Steve Jobs When I finished the book I decided. Engineering is the way.
I have a shelf in the corner of my room that houses more memorabilia. There is six trophies for piano concerts that I performed at in high school. Piano was a huge part of my childhood. I started playing when I was six years old, mainly because my sister took lessons and I was jealous and wanted to be just like my big sister, until I was 17 years old.
Every night gunshots can be heard in the distance. Not long ago, I heard gunshots around 3 AM. I woke up scared and couldn’t fall back asleep. I remember years ago my neighborhood was really calm but now something always happens.
