If you like the past then look no farther because you have found it. But you will read these in the present but you will feel like you are visiting the past which you are.
I believe that every day is training day. As a high school athlete, sports are a way of relieving the stress of everything that is going on in my life. For me, that stress is relieved is when I step out on a soccer field with my team and we play to our best capability for 80 minutes.
Throughout my years of participating in high school basketball, I have overcome many challenges. My freshmen year, basketball started in a way I never expected. Continuing on, I understood the real meaning of hard work, and what it takes. Lessons I learned in basketball will carry on throughout my life, helping me to become a successful adult.
Sports have been apart of my life for many years. I have been actively involved in volleyball and softball throughout my lifetime. I started playing these sports at a young age and fell in love with the sports and have been playing them ever since. I love to play volleyball, but softball is my passion. As a three year letterwinner and playing the shortstop position, I have faced many challenges. I have played softball with my older sister for many years and June 7, 2013 was one of the most heartbreaking days of my life.
In basketball I am able to clear my mind of any other worries I might have. I can indulge myself with the thrill of the moment. I enjoy playing basketball because the game serves as a platform and representation of what it takes to be successful. It also happens to be very fun! My path throughout my basketball career has taught me that hard work and dedication lead to success. Basketball has taught me two important life lessons. Competition is inevitable if you want to be great, no matter what you wish to accomplish. Not only must you compete against yourself and make sure you're always working your hardest, but you must compete against others. There will always be someone else out there who’s working harder than you are, no matter how hard you think you’re working. In order to achieve your goals you need to start small. Start off in practice each day trying to win each rep, and eventually you will begin to see results that lead you towards your goal. Surrender yourself to the process and not the end results. With continuous hard work and dedication the results will come naturally. Once one does this one’s accomplishments will rise
When most people tend to think of being literate they think of being able to read and write. Until last week I thought the exact thing. I learned that being literate was not is not just reading and writing. It is a plethora of things that you can be literate in. My literacy is a thing that I have been doing for a long time. Trust me it did not an easy process to get this proficient in it either. I love to
My team was awesome. I was with Tim Clayton and Cole Morrison. Our team did very good the first game and I scored the winning shot for us to advance to the next round of the tournament. I knew that since I made that shot it would be my time to shine in the next game because coach would be watching me. Before the game started I looked into coaches eyes and he smiled and nodded his head.
Personal identity refers to the concept you develop of yourself that evolves over time. This includes aspects of your life you don’t have control over such as where you were born and raised, your skin color, and your sexuality. However, your personal identity may also contain things such as choices you make and what you believe. These aspects that are controllable are subject to change as you develop a better sense of self identity. Defining my self, I can attribute several processes that allow me to view certain aspects of my identity. Ever since 4th grade I was a student athlete playing basketball. The role of student athlete has played a big part in my life and contributed to many of the things I believe myself to be. It has ultimately

Basketball is a game of chess. It is non stop running shouting and yelling, just like my championship tournament for my Hoover basketball team. I was tired before the tournament even started because I had already played a game earlier in the morning at 9:00 am at Chelsea Elementary School with my Berry team.
Even though I ended my career of basketball it allowed me to build friendships. For example, I was able to meet my life long best friend through basketball because she played with us but just went to a different school in the community. With those friendships that I made, I was also able to create memories. I will never forget the time we went to Wasusa for State in 7th grade. I may not remember the plays that we ran, or even if we won the game or not, but I do remember being surrounded by my friends and swimming at the hotel we stayed at. The task of playing basketball was getting to be hard for me. At practice I would give all I could and would still fall short. In seventh grade I ended up falling short and ended up being on the B team, not the team that was classified as good. Even though the task was difficult and I ended up quitting, I was able find some fun in playing. I believe that it is valuable to attempt a difficult task because it shapes who you are, however along the way you need to be willing to adjust your goals and look out for what is best for your future. When I recognized I wasn't getting as much playing time as others and wasn’t up to their skill level I decided I had to look at the future. I realized I would be sitting the bench in high school just like I was in middle school. This made me decide to do what was best for my future which was quit. Just like Alan, I needed to change my
Why is this important to me? I love basketball. It is a hobby of mine and my family. It is also part of the culture of the US and want to see how it compares to the Netherlands
