The people at this time ate their eggs either scrambled or sunny side up. Pancakes were generally eaten as a treat on Sunday mornings. The people like to put jams like grape, strawberry, and sometimes powdered sugar on them for a better and sweeter taste. The types of meat eaten during the Elizabethan Era were lamb, beef, mutton, pork, goat, bacon, veal, rabbit, herons, and goose. What really made those breakfasts special, though, were the stories. Stories of my Dad’s dreams of owning a little restaurant on the lakefront, of little chairs and little tables, of having a laminated menu with items ranging from his eggs, to his whole-wheat popovers, to his toast. “Joe’s Café,” he’d call it. Day after day, he’d tell me his aspirations of owning a gourmet restaurant, even though an hour later he’d sit in the driver’s seat of his Toyota on the way to his office job. Cornbread as some might say is a food dish made in mostly skillets but also other pans may be used. The actual main ingredient is cornmeal, but flour is used just as much. Cornbread itself looks orange-ish on the outside but white on the inside, with a soft feel. The inside texture is fluffy, the taste is quite sweet but being bread it’s dry. This food has been with my family for a long time, not only at special events but almost every dinner.
My main concern for the recipe was whether or not it would lack flavor and if the sauce would still be too liquidy for the pasta. Once the tetrazzini was done, I sprinkled basil, black pepper, and cheese on top. I was pleasantly surprised with my recipe because it was very flavorful and the sauce wasn’t runny or liquidy. I have never made turkey tetrazzini before and it turned out really well. I consider myself a beginner at cooking because I don’t cook a lot at home and am still learning.
My dad had got done cooking breakfast, eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and sausage. It looked so good. Me, being the 11 year old I am, decide to load my plate up. I knew I wouldn’t be able to eat all of what I had grabbed, but I still grabbed it all because I wanted to make sure I had enough energy for gymnastics. After I ate half of what was on my plate, I go outside and practice cartwheels.
At first I though he is just exaggerate, however, at once he invite me to his home and cooking a dinner by himself. we started to share cooking tips of discuss things related to that very often. Cooking Light calls Smoky Farro and Chickpea Soup a “trifecta of deliciousness”. Farro, an ancient savory wheat grain has a substantial chew somewhat nuttier and earthier than barley. Since it takes a while to cook, I find it simmers to perfection without any attention except fuzzy logic in a rice cooker.
