Draft Affidavit I, Nino Serrano, of legal age, married and a citizen of the Republic of the Philippines, currently residing at 1155 5th Street, Apt. 405, Oakland, CA 94607, after having been duly sworn, do hereby depose and state that: 1. I was a chef in the Philippines, and I worked with the Cabalen Restaurant in Clark, Pampanga from July 2009, and later in 2102, I was transferred to a branch in Subic, Olongapo City where I worked there up to January 2014. Because of my outstanding performance, I was promoted to a Chief Cook by my employer, and was also award as one of the best cooks at the Cabalen chain of restaurants. 2. However, with all the award and promotion, my salary as a cook was barely enough to the ever growing needs of my family. For this reason, I tried looking for opportunities abroad, which most Filipinos do, to escape poverty and bring a better future to their families. Sometime in August 2013, I applied for a job in Kuwait and I was fortunate to get accepted. As a courtesy to my company, I informed my manager ahead of time in order for them to search for a possible replacement for my position. My tentative flight schedule would be on February 2014. My manager agreed, and that while I am waiting for my schedule, I would still work with the Cabalen Restaurant. 3. While waiting for my flight to Kuwait, my …show more content…
Because the company did not arrange a house for us to stay with, we temporarily slept at the Cabalen Restaurant for a week. It was very uncomfortable for us because we have to put together the chairs and tables in the restaurant that served as our beds to sleep on, and shelves for our luggage, or sometimes we had to sleep on the cold floor. Moreover, we cannot take our rest early until all the cleaning and dishwashing were done in the restaurant. Until one time, some of the shareholders took notice of our situation and requested Ms. Marissa Reyes to allow us to stay temporarily in their house, to which she and her husband
Attempt CC =1 CM spoke to Johnda Neazer (DCP&P Supervisor) regarding the family’s current living situation. DCP&P supervisor provided CM with a detailed background on the family and noted that DCP&P will assist the family with housing such as the first month rent and security deposit once caregiver finds housing. DCP&P supervisor explained to CM that the division is unable to place the family into a hotel due to Welfare offering the family to stay at a shelter in Newark and caregiver denied offer. CM was informed that DCP&P only place families in a hotel if they are homeless and does not have assistance such as shelter opportunities. DCP&P supervisor stated DCP&P assisted caregiver with a budget form.
How can we reduce residents’ pains from the difficulties of living in
Writs of Assistance Knock, knock you answer the door its police; they are searching for illegal goods. Good thing this is not real because it would make a lot of people mad. In the 1700’s this was actually a law that gave the police the right to search your house or business. It was called the Writs of Assistance. Who created it, what did they do, and how did it lead to the Revolutionary war.
Both the patients are unhappy with their experience in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. The author mentions that nursing home prioritizes the provision of ‘nursing’ over the creation of ‘home.’ This is upsetting for patients because they do not sense the comfort of being home. In his 1961 study Asylums, Goffman noted some shocking similarities between nursing homes and prisons. In many nursing homes residents are not allowed to walk alone in case they fall, eat certain foods in case they choke, use knives in case they cut themselves.
The standards of a Sterling Scholar, scholarship, citizenship and leadership have been exemplified in the way I have conducted my life through the following examples. I have never really excelled in academics. I believe learning the information is far more important than getting a good grade. Math, Science, and English are not my strong suits, but I’ve always loved working with computers. From a young age I’ve always been fascinated with technology and how it helps us advance as a society.
To EPAC Appeals Sub-committee: This morning I received an email regarding my dismissal from the College of Nursing program. I am aware that I have failed NUR 250: Knowledge Foundations with a 71, instead of a 73. I’m writing this appeal letter to explain the cause of my poor grades and to ask you to please reconsider me to continue my progression into the nursing program. My poor academic performance has been a result of multiple stressors and life problems.
One of her clients on her case load is a 60 year old, bed bound, diabetic person. This client does have provider staff, but they only come in 4 hours a day (2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon). The provider leaves at about 7pm, so this client is in her bed until the next morning when staff arrives at 10 or 11. This client has spent 12 hours in her bed, with possibly soil linens. The client does not want to be placed in a nursing home, does not want more provider hours, and does not want move with family.
Re: Letter of Recommendation for Joshua Whiting To The RA Selection Committee: I write on behalf of Joshua Whiting’s application for a Resident Assistant position. I believe Josh to be an exemplary student-scholar as well as a person of tremendous character with significant leadership skills. I met Josh in my first semester of college in our biology class. We were both Biochemistry majors so we got to skip Biology 1 and therefore were both new to this new world of college but already in a group full of sophomores and students who had been in college for multiple semesters. Naturally we gravitated to each other due to this aspect we had in common.
Dear the National Honor Society selection committee, Thank you for the great honor of being invited to apply for membership to such a well-respected and incredible organization. I am very excited about this opportunity as it presents an optimal way in which to further my passion of expanding my mind and bettering my community. Since I entered high school, I have pursued this by taking all honors classes and any Advanced Placement classes offered to me each year. Although sometimes I was not always entirely sure what to expect walking into each class, and of course there have been classes I like more than others, there is no class I regret taking because each and every one has opened my mind up to a new way of thinking.
My passion for nursing practice defies description; leading to the reason I am opting to pursue a higher level of education in nursing. The George Washington University School of nursing has one of the highly ranked master’s programs in the country, which offers a competitive curriculum and highly defined leadership skills that integrates technology into learning. It is therefore my desire to pursue an advance education at this facility because it prepares practitioners to become great clinicians ready to solve real-world clinical problems. Moreover, the opportunity to pursue a degree in this facility will afford me the ability to be a competent and highly efficient family nurse practitioner; that will serve the community and mostly the underserved. I am the last child in a family of eight that has aspired to pursue my education at the graduate level.
Ehrenreich mentions “The regulation poster in the single unisex rest room admonishes us to wash our hands thoroughly,” in her essay; However, there is almost no one following the instruction because “there is always some vital substance missing—soap, paper towels, toilet paper”. Although workers may want to follow the instructions, it is impossible for them to do so because they “never found all three at once ”. The effect of describing the deficient rest room is to highlight the fact that the owner of the restaurant is so stingy to the workers that the owner refuses to provide enough substance. Thus, the readers can better understand the terrible environment that the workers live in. In short, with mention the dreadful environment of the kitchen and the rest room, the audiences are able to know that lower workers work in a grubby environment and how they have been treated by the upper class.
Please accept my resume to showcase my interest in the position of Resident Assistant. I believe that I am an excellent candidate due to my leadership ability, my academic achievement, and my overall attitude. I am a firm believer in academia being the top priority while in college and I have proven this attitude through my performance over the past semester. As a Political Science and International Business double major at Monmouth College, who is on the Pre-Law track, I aspire to work in politics one day as a Political Campaign Manager. My academic attitude, I believe, is important for a Resident Assistant to hold because as a RA, one should be a role model for the other members of the hall.
Throughout the course of my study, I have developed a strong interest in biotechnology and the health industry; it is thus my hope to pursue a legal education that will enable me to participate in and even bring changes to their regulatory systems. UVA attracts me with its strong health law program. I especially appreciate the extensive collaboration between UVA Law and the other medical institutions of the university. As stated in my personal statement, one of my main motives to delve into legal study after obtaining a degree in science is to explore the power of law as a social factor that exploits the potentiality of science to benefit more people; such an interdisciplinary approach that UVA Law takes is no doubt the best way to understand
I am currently an undergraduate at Rowan College at Gloucester County completing my pre-nursing studies. As I was growing up, I always enjoyed the idea of helping and healing others. My inspiration to become a nurse was watching my mother make a difference in the lives of elderly at a local senior living community as an Activities Assistant for years. Even though, she was unable to go back to school due to personal circumstances, the compassion she showed towards others around her was something special as she took care of them as if they were relatives. Whenever I had free time, I would just sit and play a game with the elderly residents hearing their life stories from when they were young.
I believe that the mission of a student ambassador is to promote the vision, growth and quality of University of Maryland, by optimizing the experience of current students, prospective students and special guests. I would like to be a student ambassador primarily because I want to get more involved with the university; not to mention the positive impact it will have on my CV. I would also gain experience in public speaking, building friendships with fellow ambassadors and develop my leadership skills. Furthermore, this offers a responsibility that can be both challenging and extremely rewarding.
