It was a blazing hot Saturday afternoon, and I was waitressing at Kenya 's drive in in Dierks, Arkansas. This was my fifth day working there. We were catering food for a benefit and we were extremely busy. I had several customers to waitress on, and I was very nervous. There was probably fifty people in the small building. I seat this guy and his brother and take their drink orders, and go get their drinks. I come back with their drinks, and when I sat the drink in front of the guys brother I spilt a tiny bit of his dr pepper on the table. I then took their food order. I later then brought them their food which was butterfly shrimp and a burger. I asked the guys if they needed anything else and the guys response was can I have some cocktail
In summary, on 09/21/15 at 0418 hours I was patrolling the area of 1600 S. Laramie Ave., at which time I observed a male subject with a youthful appearance walking northbound 16th Street. I made contact with the subject, at which time he identified himself as (Rosas, Alexis DOB 04/21/97). While speaking with Rosas, I detected a strong odor of fresh cannabis emanating from his person. Rosas related he had some cannabis in his sweater pocket. I recovered a silver box containing a green leafy substance from Rosas ' right sweater pocket.
Was it that severe? How was my town affected? This was something I was wondering after a really strong storm went through my town. It was I think two or three years ago in Hampton Iowa. It was fascinating and threatening at the same time..
You 've gone shopping with your aunt crazy? I do, and not do it again !. I was looking for clothes to go to a concert. My aunt decided to go with me to the mall. Upon arriving we walked into several stores including Zara, Old Navy and Forever 21.
I became an FFA Officer at the be of my sophomore year. It happened like this. It was the day of our chapter FFA banquet, the banquet had began, people started filling in and I started to get so nervous. It was in the commons or lunch room of our high school. This was my first ever FFA banquet, besides our area one.
All my life I have lived in the small town of Walkertown, which is only about twenty minutes away from Winston-Salem. Five years ago Walkertown was small and you had to go to the next town over, Kernersville, if you wanted to go shopping for clothes or go out for dinner. Now, Walkertown is a lot more developed and less rural. However, it is nowhere near as developed as Winston-Salem, especially downtown. Winston-Salem is a built up city with a lot of impervious surfaces.
Whenever my mom has company at her house, guests always ask about the plaque that hangs in the living room on the wall. It reads Championship Mvp, 14-0 season, Jonesboro Wildcats. My mom always smiles and says, “Ask Markus about it.” I don’t mind telling people about the championship game. It is after all one of my fondest memories playing sports.
Throughout the years, a buildup of understanding about violence developed in my brain, a general concept of violence in America, towards women and people of differing sexualities. At this point in my life, I feel unable to recall a specific moment or an exact moment of realization about evil in the world. However, more often than not I experience discrimination myself or I witness someone else suffering through it. Ta-Nehisi Coates' excerpt from Between the World and Me, emphasizes the importance of dealing with discrimination and educating others through a letter to his son, something that I feel passionately about and have dealt with my whole life.
Did you know that back before the 1920s, makeup and cosmetics were not accepted by American Society because of their relation to loose living and prostitution? But because of popular movie stars like Joan Crawford and Clara Bow, women began copying their makeup. Now makeup is even more widely accepted by society. This and other fun facts make the 1920s among some of the greatest decades of all time because of the interesting fashion, jazz music, and celebrities.
The aroma of burning wood, gooey marshmallows, and burnt hotdogs filled the air in the hot yet enjoyable evening. Sounds of children laying and adults gossiping filled the ears of all the neighbors. There is only two rules you must obey to attend the Kessinger family reunion: no fighting and no alcohol. These rules were in place for good reason, about two years before my uncle Stan and my uncle Rick had a little too much to drink, and began to fight. At the end if you were to ask me, uncle Stan won the fight with only 2 broken fingers and a black eye, while uncle Rick had a broken nose, black eye, and a broken rib.
My dad convinced us that he wanted Uncle Julio’s Mexican food, therefore we decided to eat there due to the fact that hostess said we could get a table immediately. After parking the car in the deserted parking lot, I walked in the restaurant first and began conversing with the hostess about finding a table. I found it strange when
I inspected the shelf, took out a Campari, Sweet Vermouth and Gin and I realized that they also had pour sprouts, the expensive, metal ones. I put them on the bottles, put them in even amounts, all of them on the rocks (that’s ice FYI) in the mixing glass and stirred. Peeled off a strip of orange, tipped it on the glass and slid the glass to him. He looked at me briefly with those disturbingly black orbs which left me involuntarily shuddering and then at the
Right after we parked and started walking down the street, a man approached my sister-in-law and started telling her we had stolen his juice the day before. After a while, we figured out he was one of the cab drivers that had taken us home, but
I knew I wanted to violate a positive social norm, so when I was at Dillon’s, I paid for the woman in front of me in line’s stuff. She didn’t have very much picked out, but I knew that people buying other people’s groceries doesn’t happen all that often. The woman was taken by surprise when I stepped in and at first was pretty persistent on telling me no, but I did explain to her that I was doing it for a project. The cashier was shocked also, she told me that she’s never had anyone pay for someone else’s stuff, for a project or not. After it was over she thanked me and wished me luck on my project.
Everyone has a favorite trip that brings back great memories. My trip to North Dakota is one of my all-time favorites. On the way there it was fine what I mean like is no accidents like flat tire, no gasoline problems and all that kind of stuff. When I was about to pack up I felt like there is going to be a problem coming back from North Dakota and we did. On the way back just about to enter freedom we almost hit a big buck, it almost looked like a 9 pointer to me, but my dad it was a 8 pointer.
