It was a hot sunny day in the Summer. My dad came home as always from work. That evening my family and I ate dinner. It turned night so I got into bed and fell asleep. Its was early in the morning around 7. My dad came into my room and woke me up. He told me that we need to go find a new job for him. I got up and got some clothes on and got in the truck. We went all over the place even places an hour or 30 mins away from stanton. We spent half a day looking for a job for my dad. We only had two weeks to get out of the house we lived in. My parents were in the processes of getting a house, but they still didn’t know what house to get. My dad went out to look for a job and found one. The guy let us borrow a house he had in the time we got our own. …show more content…
That summer was so hot that my mom had to take us to our aunts house because the house had no ac in it. Me my brother and sister had to share a room. We went to see the house we were going to get, but the house we were going to get another person got it. We had no choice but to find a mobile home. My family and I went to see the mobile homes. I didn’t like the idea of living in a mobile home. I was use to living in big houses. When we went to see them I didn’t like them. I was looking at them after a while I started to like them. The homes were big and every beautiful in the inside. My dad didn’t really like the job he had he went early in the morning to go to work and come late at night. He had to stay there for a while but some guy that worked there didn’t like my dad. He would tell the boss lies about my dad. So we had to move out because my dad left the job. We had nowhere else to go. I had to live at my aunt 's house for a month or so. We had chosen a home the day we were going to get it we needed one more paper. It was going to take two weeks for that
Then we went back to our tent and had a BBQ the whole time until we had to leave. Went to L.A with cousins It was summer vacation when going to Las Angeles with my grandma and two cousins. I was eight at the time, and was going into third grade. We were all so excited to go, and even for the four hour drive.
If you were younger, you were more likely to stay with your family, but I wasn't one of the lucky ones. I was all on my own, assigned a barracks to sleep in. It looked more like a shack held together with dirt and wood than a functional building, but it was now my home. There was a thick layer of dust covering my “home”, but no broom to sweep it up with. I laid my clothes out in the shape of a bed for some cushion
Once upon a time when I was younger I used to live in Lincolnton and I went to G.E. Massey. I was in the first grade. I was living with my Aunt Tammy at the time because my mother was living with my grandfather and so was my older sister. After I moved onto the 2nd grade I moved in with my pawpaw and my mother because my sister moved with our dad. Me and my mom shared a room but most of the time I wouldn’t see her because when she got home from work during the night she would go right to bed.
We then had to move out because my mom did not not want to live with her mom forever. We had found a house and then moved into our house. Now our landlord wants us to move out of our house and we are trying to move into a new house, maybe in
It was a hectic day. My friend had to call and have his grandparents pick him up which took about 45 minutes because they lived kind of far away. During that time, my dad told me “pack your bags, we need to go visit your grandmother” I remember that I didn’t pack much because I couldn’t think. My mom immediately booked us plane tickets to Portland. It was super close but we made the flight.
We went back to my grandmas house and played outside we climbed the tree. We also played tag we were laughing and running because my cousin farted. Then we took a break and played with the dog. It started to get dark so we would have to go back home. I was sad to leave but I knew I would visit them next
It had been three years since the Dust Bowl Drought started and it was really affecting my family. My mom, Laurie had to really work hard to support the family and help to play for house repairs that we needed after all of the storms hit. My father, Jonathan worked on the farm right behind our house to try to keep me, mom, and him fed. It was 3:00 I had just got home from school and my parents were still working. I walked inside to see what was cooking, dad had chicken pot pie in the oven.
I was left with the short end of the stick. My mother 's health was rapidly becoming worse, countless unpaid bills, and barely no food on the table. I had no choice but to get a job. Though, my brothers were able to help out when I worked. I missed countless days of school and my grades quickly diminish.
I am writing to inform this college of my inability to provide the financial information for my non-custodial parent, Seth Owirodu. My father has been out of my life since the fall of 2011 due to his lack of financial support and unfulfilled family responsibilities. During that time, we lived in a three bedroom, two bathroom house. One of the rooms was used to store his belongings, another was his bedroom, and the last room was the room my mom, siblings, and I stayed in. Cracks populated the house, allowing rodents and snakes to enter.
Moving into the house was difficult because from moment one my first day at the house was bad. When I went
The home front during the Civil War was an active environment dedicated to supporting the military war effort. Many things took place on these home fronts, Everyone had to do their part to support the brave troops fighting in the war. For example, the role of women increased as volunteers began to desert their businesses to serve in the war. Women began to run shops and businesses while the men were away, which helped them thrive in the midst of chaos. Because these factories were run by these women, more food, supplies, and clothing were able to be made for soldiers.
I hope this letter finds you well. It has been a while since I have last heard from you. Mom and I miss you here in the home front and we are waiting for the day the war finally ends and you get to come home. While thinking about how hard you and the other soldiers are fighting for us and our country, we wanted to find things we can do on the home front to make things better for when you all return. I know it must be extremely difficult in the war front, but I want you to know that all of us here are doing everything we can to help our nation win the war and bring our troops home.
We all agreed and were hoping for my dad to also agree. Then my father said with a cheerful voice “Where do you guys want to go for vacation”. Me and my sister Rahma wanted to go to Florida, but, my other sister Selsibila wanted to go to California. Since Florida is closer and most of us agreed on going to Florida my parents said, “Ok then Florida it is” and we all ran to our rooms to pack up our stuff. My father quickly went on his computer and started looking for a rental.
Occasionally, my dad would sleep in a different room in the house. One day shortly after the end of my fourth grade year, when what was to be a summer to remember, my mom broke the news to me and my brother. It had ended. Mom and dad were getting divorced. I remember feeling shocked and confused.
A heat wave hit my face when we got out of the plane. I was already sweaty! We grabbed our luggage from the baggage carousel. A brand new Jeep greeted our faces, I sat at the back drinking a Red Bull, enjoying the sights of Miami, people walking on the sidewalk in beachwear, palm trees waving in the breeze, I could taste the salty tang of the sea. We stopped at the beach, my little brother and twin sister were already in the pool, my parents were at the bar drinking cocktails.
