This night I rode with Officer Innocent. Unlike the other officers I rode with he is closer to my age and could give me a lit bit more of feedback on where I am in my career and plans. Most of the night was working security at the Dance Marathon on Livingston at the RAC. Mostly we just walked around and watched students and if we got a call we headed out. However, at least from the looks of the night everybody who was out was at this Dance Marathon so the night was a little slow. This night taught me two things if I do end up working for RUPD. One the officers have a bunch of over time options for Rutgers events which is good. An two that a lot of policing this community is just making your presence known and talking with students. We did security till …show more content…
Three people had been attacked according to them 10 Asian males and the three gentlemen were very angry because the CSO were patrolling saw this occurring and reported it to RUPD but, they were angry because they didn’t chase after them. Emts were there because the one guy was laying on the ground and his leg was pretty messed up. The best way to describe this whole situation was very hostile. These gentlemen were hostile to everyone RUPD, the CSOs, and the EMTs. An here I learned that also part of being a police officer is it is better to try and defuse people than try and use force and make the situation worse. I was very impressed by Officer Brenton and Innocent handling of the situation. They were very calm did not get confrontational with these guys at all and were just trying to help them. The one laying on the ground was yelling “I can’t afford to go to the hospital I don’t have the money” to the EMTs and Officer Innocent was saying “they are just trying to help you man” and we did not leave until he was in the ambulance. After that it was around 4 and I was
I honestly never would have thought of you being a police officer. I know. I'm very different than the characters I portray. I grew up in a small town, and I grew up kind of like a tomboy with a lot of fishing and camping and sports. There was a fan question that came in.
I had the privilege to interview Ed Locklear who is employed at the Pembroke Police Department where he serves as the Assistant Chief and Captain of the department. Ed Locklear has 19 years of experience, and says he truly enjoys his job. He has been with the Pembroke agency for 3 years now, and before that he worked at the campus of UNC Pembroke. His job duties are usually to help the Chief with day to day operations, such as training for some of the other men at the agency, ordering equipment that they may need, responding to calls, and patrolling the area every now and then. His typical day as the Captain is patrolling, checking out the area to make sure nothing bad is happening, and business walk throughs to make sure everything is running smoothly and no one is causing any trouble.
In this article, My turn: You don’t get to assault police officers, opinionated from Chief Steve Strachan of the Bremerton Police Department and Kitsap County Sheriff Gary Simpson, both provided insightful thoughts from an officer’s point-of-view. Chief Strachan and Sheriff Simpson addressed the truth be told from under the veil of negativity aimed at police officers. Hence, this article can be looked upon both negatively and positively, provided a Chief and Sheriff’s opinion of the current negativity portrayed upon officers. Subsequently, quoted from the article, “first, we all need to be more aware of the underlying ‘spin’ in messages and headlines about so-called ‘police violence’ and second, we absolutely have to focus on the fact that it is not acceptable, ever, to attack or assault police officers.”
While not on a scale anywhere near the events ASAC Kowenhover and Chief Belmar were in charge of, the community I police has been in a crisis of its own. In recent years the precinct I oversee has been subjected to brutal gang violence. There have been seventeen gang related homicides, many of the victims, teenagers, have resulted in federal prosecutions. Weekly meetings with members of the FBI Gang Task Force, HSI and my agency have helped develop trust and eased coordination with the continuing investigations. Each agency has a role and cooperates fully with the other agencies.
Look around the room ,do you see anyone who looks the same? You shouldn’t, no one is the same. The things about me are different from many other people I like to dance, I love vegetables, and I I also hate liars. The first thing you need know about be is that I’m a dancer. I am really competitive dancer. I have been competing since last year and ever since then I’ve been pushed.
Police officers have vowed their life to protect and serve. They risk their lives every day for their communities. As the last few years have sped past us, police officers have been very aggressive with the force they use when arresting a suspect, or even people in general. According to a Texas article on Civil Liberties and Civil Rights, “police officers typically use force offensively rather than defensively and do so with at least some degree of premeditation.” (Gross,2013, page 167).
The night of the 8th grade dance. It’s suppose to be one of the greatest times of an eighth grader's school year right? Nothing too bad could go wrong, besides stupid drama...right? Students dancing around, hanging out with their friends, and taking pictures in a photo booth sound great!... well maybe not quite…
Don’t ever underestimate someone in crisis. You handle these encounters with kid gloves, because, as an officer you never know what you are walking into. The only heads up you may receive is that a citizen may be off their meds, or hearing voices. What starts out as a talking
According to the FBI, 49,851 officers were assaulted in the line of duty, with an injury rate of 29.2 percent and twenty- seven were murdered in 2012. This makes police officials go into a panic mode and I believe it affects their judgment when it comes to using certain forces on suspects. For example, there was a case where a man wasn’t cooperating with police officials, so the police officials used a taser gun on him. Still, the man refused to go down and three other police officers jumped in to help out. The four officers decided to use excessive force by beating the man with a police stick and tasered him multiple times.
During the chase of a wounded soldier, a female police officer started to fire upon Hasan. While they both were drawing fire upon each other, the female soldier got hit two times and fell wounded on the ground. Later a civilian officer named Todd shouted at
Law enforcement is an honorable job to have and to uphold, especially a State Trooper. You will have a reputation to uphold. In this field it will come to know that it is very unpredictable. Every morning when you go into the field, there is always a chance you won't come home.
In the interview with Officer Richard Bucklin, I asked him questions regarding his experiences as a police officer, the highs and lows of being a police officer, his opinions about recent controversial police topics and the challenges he faces everyday. All of his answers were very interesting and informational. I learned a lot when interviewing Officer Bucklin. I started off by asking Officer Bucklin how he got started in his field of work? Officer Bucklin responded saying that he needed a steady job that had a weekly pay.
Cole and Maria are dancing with each other on the dance floor. Allison is seen serving drinks to the seniors. She watches Maria kiss Cole. Allison looks away in pain, and frustration. Tyler and Sean come up to Allison to get drinks for their dates.

Ever since i was young i fell in love with the art of dance. When i finally joined i felt like i was a little behind hence everyone was in my class was dancing since they were toddlers. My first day of dance was pretty nerve racking. My teacher would say to do something and i wouldn't know what to do because i didn't know any dance vocabulary. I would have to look around and try to fit in as much as possible so my teacher wouldn't think i wasn't fit for the class.
