We were visiting one of Mom’s friends during the summer, an odd couple who lived in the practically deserted area of Roxbury, Connecticut. It all started with a dog. Yeah, I know, seems kinda stupid. A big fluffy dog ran up to my sister. And knowing her, she would, of course, pet it.
I then yawned before surrendering out of my bed. Sprite was my child. Every night that I return home from work, Sprite immediately greets me with warm kisses and a helicopter tail. We went to the dog park every Saturday morning followed by the food market, and whatever else was on the agenda for that day (normally just cleaning or relaxing at home). Sprite never left my side, and even some days, when I got up the courage to ask, I would ask my boss if I could bring Sprite into work with me.
Cliff Jumping at Smith Lake If you think jumping off a diving board is fun, you should try cliff jumping. At the end of the summer (2015) my family and I went to Smith Lake, Alabama. We had heard about this beautiful lake from some friends of ours who had went recently and loved it. After we had heard about the lake once we kept hearing about it more and more. Nothing ever said about the lake was bad, so my mom decided to look it up.
When I was younger, I went to Legoland for my birthday. It was my dad, my mom, and I who went since my sister was not born yet. At one point during the day, my dad and I went to the water park and had a lot of fun. Then when we were finished, we went to find my mom. Being a whiny child I once was, I complained that the floor was burning my feet and asked my dad if I could walk on the side where it was not hot.
From the cause of Jamie turning in the shiny glittery earrings they turned out to be the glitter Stinker had ate. Aunt Carol was informed Angelina had put those on her desk, but later on Jamie felt bad Angelina was not allowed to go to the school dance so Jamie admitted she put the earrings on her Aunt’s desk because she thought they were earrings. Also, since everyone has been helping pitch in for Aunt Carlo’s and Uncle Dan’s wedding it was a successful day and both families were now united. To end off, it became a surprise that Stinker and Sticky Buns were going to have puppies. Jamie was happy for her dog but she was mad at Isabella for lying to her and because she was going to be grandma’s with Angelina.
That morning there were noisy small birds chirping and very bright colored flowers blossoming. We got up from our beds and got dressed to got to my aunt's house because yearly she has an Easter party and invites the whole family. We all get together and play inside of this huge inflatable bounce house/ water slide. We had fun there just throwing ourselves from the top of the bounce house. Then I got tired and went to walk the dog for my uncle.
The next day Mark said “Go shower and put any of the stuff we weren’t going to use so we didn’t have to pack as much.” Once we were all done showering it was time for the first session of the day. At this session the band told a story about their childhoods. They had a special green screen setup to do a little skit for a song they made. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen done live on a stage. After the session we had breakfast and then a lot of free time.
We were getting bored and wanted to go outside. We decided to go outside and fishing in the small lake, I really wanted to and because it was my birthday they did it with me. As I noticed it was around 2 am I reconsidered my idea. I chose my big-heavy duty pole for cat fishing. I have always feared getting a hook stuck in my finger, but I haven’t really worried about it too much.
Three of the most memorable moments I had in 5th grade was going to Catalina Island, going to the California Science Museum, and reading “Shoe Dog.” My first memory I am going to share with you is when we went to Catalina Island for a week. Sleeping in the cabins were one of the most fun parts of going to Catalina because we told each other jokes and talked about the day’s activities. Another awesome part about Catalina was what we called “Day Trip,” were we kayaked out to a secluded beach and spent the day there. The best thing we did before leaving Catalina was the “Big Swing.” Our classmates would pull us up into the air and then we would
My Meatloaf A few weeks ago, I was going through old family pictures when I discovered a very amusing picture. A small squirming puppy lay with his head in the corner of his crate half asleep, but smiling at his new family. Of course, the first thought that popped into my head was “ my little meatloaf.” This puppy is not just a dog of a meatloaf, he is Bentley, one of my best friends. Ever since I picked him out, Bentley has been very special to me. In November of 2010, my family drove two hours in the Pennsylvania woods towards a Labrador breeder’s house where we would discover a chubby brunette puppy crawling overtop of all his siblings.
Huggies or Luv’s I was walking through the baby section at Wal-mart and it brought back memories of the last two summers with my two year old twin niece Bailey and nephew Dakota. I keep Bailey and Dakota during the summer because they live two hours away and I don’t get to see them very often. Bailey and Dakota are hyper and very energetic. They like to run like wild banshees when allowed to play outside. Dakota loves playing in the mud, dirt, and sand with his trucks.
My dad said we should bring the puppies to the hair salon where my mom was. My mom wasn’t there anymore though. We brought the puppies home and my mom said, “They must be so scared… if we get one, can we get her after we move?” I knew immediately that we were going to get one.
Six Flags and the mine train. Near the middle or end of the summer my cousins and I were on facetime playing a game called ‘Growtopia’. We were talking and Ally told me that they were going to Six Flags on Sunday and that she and Abby could each bring a friend. I told her that was cool, then she asked me if I wanted to come, I told her I would like to and thought it would be fun. I had to bring a few things like sunscreen, flip-flops, my swimming suit, tennis shoes, ect ect.
What if you lie about something to save someone 's feeling being hurt? My little sister growing up had a goldfish. One day we had went on a vacation to texas and we didn’t take it with us of course, but we did let our very much trusted neighbor have a key to our home so they could go and feed my little sisters pet. Two weeks later we came home and the fish was upside, of course i didn’t want her to be sad so I told my parents so they let me and my older sister go by Wal-Mart to go get a cheap fish that looks the same as the other. Of course we told her as she got older and she understood, but it did keep her from being sad we all knew she was gonna make a big deal about it.
I have seen many cases of proud pet owners smothering their pets with human like possessions for example there was this one incident where I was on a trip over to Mexico to see my family over the summer break and while I was patiently waiting in line to be checked I see an adult women with a stroller and I honestly don’t know why I wanted to see what was inside said stroller but I did. So 9 year old me wants to see what’s inside of this stroller but this lady was not giving it up so I pretend to go to the bathroom just so I can get the angle I needed to see the object that was being held by this
