According to Utah Domestic Violence Coalition, domestic violence is defining as “violence pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one person to gain or maintain power and control over another intimate partner” (udvc.org). A victim is the person getting beaten, attacked, or intimidated. A person who reasonably believes that the are being threaten with imminent and otherwise unavoidable death or grove harm may in that instant tales the life of their attacker, with absolutely no requirement for prior permission from any governmental authority (Aaron Turner). On 08-22-2016 at 1759 hours I was dispatched to 106 Harper Street in reference to a domestic assault. Upon my arrival I made contact with Donald Pickard, who informed me of the following: - He and his girlfriend Serena Barnes have been arguing because he cheated on her while she was in prison. - Barnes has been drinking and has started to throw things and has also been hitting him and scratching him. - Barnes has broken the television, DVD player, and a jar full of marbles. - He does not want to pursue charges just wants her to calm down and possible go somewhere else for the evening.

Furthermore, men are victims of domestic violence and more often than not, get laughed at and ridiculed when they reach out for help. On the above date and time I assisted other Hollywood police patrol units in reference to a robbery ( carjacking) that occurred at the location of 3451 SHERIDAN Street, Hollywood florida. Officers, on scene advised that the suspect, a black male, who was last seen wearing a navy shirt with yellow writing on it and dark colored jeans, pointed a gun at the victim, who was inside her vehicle, gave her commands to exit, and stole the victims vehicle (gray jetta bearing Florida tag DJPR67). A perimeter was establish for the above mentioned incident.
