Father Never Was My Favorite

My uncle was a monk, but he was turned into dust just the last month. While relatives and I were gathered in the temple bot, some well-meaning relatives persuade me, probably for the sixty-sixth time, to convince fathers to quit drinking; and I smiled back like sixty-five times before and said that I will try again. Although I cannot figure out the relevance between my uncle’s death and my father’s alcoholic habits, I learned from times not to defend him because it is useless. Maybe this time my lips are not curved enough, so they could not feel my sincerity; my father’s alcoholic habits became dramatically connected to the event, illogically.

He offered me the story about the collapse business. I simply responded him like my father simply informed me when we had to move out house that it was caused by his own incompetence in running business. And yet, he exchanged with me the story that made my father to be his favorite cousin.

I conclude that my father was a timber trader; the time the business was running down, firstly, is caused by the economic crisis in 1997. Some of his clients are regular clients that he approves the credits. They postponed the payment and my grandfather forbade my father not to rush these privileges. Six out of ten clients did not settle the bills. Moreover, my grandfather had guaranteed a ten million bath loan for his friends and it turned out that his friends’ business was run down in the same year, so he fled and left three million bath debts to us.

Linking this part with the memory about grandfather those years, I assume that because he was ashamed of leaving his son these troubles or else, he turned to gambling. Unfortunately, gamblers never meet good ends. My father tried the best to sustain the business, in the same time, took care of his mother who was suffered from
