The shark was about two feet long and weighed 45 pounds. I got my dad to take a picture of me holding the shark then after that I threw it back in the water. After I threw the shark back we decided to go back to the beach house. When we got back to the beach house we didn’t do much we just chilled out for the last night because we had to leave the next day around
I played the rest of the game slow and disoriented. When the game ended we had barely won. When we all got out of the pool to shake their hands, I couldn't walk straight and I felt like I had to vomit. That is when my parents and coaches realized that I needed medical attention. I was taken to the emergency room and I didn't leave until 5 o'clock the next morning.
Once they got to the spot John took command of the trolling motor while my parents fished along the bank. Not three minutes into fishing a huge snake from one of the many trees that lined the lake fell onto my mother’s lap. She flailed hysterically trying to get the snake off of her and out of the boat. My father was able to grab the snake and throw it onto the bank. By this point my mother was done with fishing so they decided to head back in.
Imagery of the bass, the river, and Sheila Mant One of the main themes of this story is that sacrifice. The narrator of this story is not given a name but he is fourteen year old. The narrator has a major crush on a women- seventeen year old, Sheila Mant. The narrator finally, and I say finally, asks Sheila on a date via the narrator’s boat. Then the narrator is in a pickle, he catches the biggest bass he ever caught.
Jay and Able were furious, the three of them had worked at starbucks for a year to save up for the canoe and small electric motor that they had bought. When mess got back she exploded and ran towards the jocks hang out which was on the only beach on the lake, but she didn’t get far before a voice startled her out of her rage. “Like the new paint job?” Peter said in a false questioning voice. “I’m sorry, this lake is only for cool kids who are not nerds and little lovebirds,” he said looking at Mess. “How about you go and let us have just one good summer.. For once!” Mess
Why would he Pick the bass. If he does it is probably because his love and desire for fishing. He does it so much that when he is in the boat or on the dock he auto casts every time. In the course of the summers fishing he had learned the name of every fish in his river. The narrator also states in the story
Then I yelled “Let’s just go up to where we started out at.” Will screamed “Let’s go up to the bridge and see what it’s like.” So I went back up to camp where we started out at and Will went to check out the bridge to see what it was like. He would be back in an hour so I went and fished for an hour. Since it was raining I caught a couple of big fish in the river. When he got back we both fished for another hour and we were gonna call it a day. Every time we caught a fish it smelt really bad because the fish sometimes just flat out had a disgusting smell.
He wasn’t expected to live very long, but did, so after two months they decided to name him. Doodle wasn’t even able to walk until he was about five when Brother taught him, but only taught him because he was embarrassed to have a brother who couldn’t walk. Later on, Brother tries to teach Doodle to do other things like swim, and one day after practicing swimming there was a bad lightning storm. During
This is where the sacrifice comes in. He doesn’t give up Sheila, but he gives up huge bass that has kept snagging on the narrator’s fishing line. It is the biggest bass that he has ever seen or caught, and he probably will never find a bass like that ever again. But then, Sheila Mant is equally impressive. And it is impossible to have both, though the narrator keeps trying to keep the bass on the line, until he has to cut it.
We killed 1 wood duck and 1 wigeon duck. The second hunt on Thursday on the 24th of November. This hunt we had Brent Woulsy and he had his 12 gauge benelli. We didn 't get anything because we 're terrible shots. I had to buy a new box of shells that cost 15 bucks.
