Today was a pretty relaxing day. We didn’t have many patients in the office so time when by smoothly. We had two dentists in the office. I started off with helping the dentist who I had hardly ever worked with before. He was really nice and interested in where I got my goggles from. You see he was a fellow four eyes. I teased me about how awful my vision was. He was on the money though. I really so have terrible vision though. Once the doctor I usually assisted with arrived, I handed off the baton to one of the students who was always standing behind me and he was eager to assist. I parted way with that doctor and that was it.
The atmosphere in the office was pretty relaxing. The equipment was working fine and the patients were all cooperating.

She uses most of her time getting the patient numb so the actually procedure can be quick and painless. I only assisted with one patient before I had to leave. I ended up leaving 30 minutes early due to a headache. I guess a doctor’s or dentist’s office is the best place to get a migraine because one thing they are never short of is Tylenol. There was one other girl that was shadowing with me. The doctor is usually really anal about who is in her space and around the patient. She hates people walking in unannounced and having conversations within ear shot irks her. She had just kicked some students out of the office for talking. However, she noticed that this particular student was not talking but rather watching quietly in the corner. She motioned for her to come over and allowed her to shadow during the procedure. The patient we were working on was extremely sweet. She loved that we were students. I think that when patients realize students are watching, the do one of two things. They toughen up and try to be good patients or they become big babies and complain. This particular patient was very fond of the idea of being involved in us learning about dentistry and our future jobs.
The crown prep went well and the dentist was able to take an impression and finish the procedure. The temporary crown went on perfectly and the patient was happy with the results. She had beautiful teeth. I was happy because I go to mix
Dr. Edward Kammerer, MD is a good family friend. We have been friends for more than 17 years! When he heard I had a goal of job shadowing an internal medicine physician to see if that is the path I want to take, he kindly offered a day when I could follow him around and see what his typical work day is like. I met him at 8:00 a.m. on a Friday. When the day first began he had some paperwork to fill out and catch up on.
She listened to my concern and addressed every one of them. Being a medical professional, I am very critical of the medical care I receive and I was over 100% satisfied with my experience. Her care and bedside manner are fantastic. I highly recommend.
Finally I was capable of going alone and even being the leader of our group. As the leader, I answered the phone and gave the patient 's room number, name, and what was needed. It was a wonderful experience because I had a chance
As she started to wonder if being a dental hygienist would be the right path. She changed her mind and began her journey down another track. She loved seeing people be happy over having beautiful teeth; being able to show some other personality in a little detail as showing their teeth. A dental hygienist works alongside dentists to inspect and clean people’s teeth and gums working directly with patients and giving them advice on good oral health, therefore, to be a successful hygienist
The dentist looked at my face and told me, “Daniel I want you to be calm. You have been part of an experiment to develop antidotes for diseases caused by the flare. We all hope that you co- “ Suddenly the wall near us collapsed.
Overall, it was an eye-opening experience. Obviously, just like most students wanting to get into the dental hygiene program, I was interested in the financial security that comes with this occupation. However, after my shadowing experience, I learned what a truly rewarding career choice this is. It left a very positive impression on me, seeing how happy Frankie was at her job.
The broad field of study ranging through every organ system that encompasses medicine, a jack-of-all-trades if you will, is truly fascinating. One of the many appealing aspects of an internist is the opportunity to form meaningful interpersonal connections beginning with first interaction on admission to the day of discharge and the subsequent follow-ups. This will give me ample time to get to know my patient, address their concerns and work together to tailor a plan of action that is best for the individual patient. Excellent primary care to me is more than just about disease management. It is about prevention of complications of that condition, risk factor reduction, reassurance, counseling, educating, curing and most importantly improving quality of life.
When the patients would start talking more it was an indicator to me that they were trying to put a hold on the procedure. I would try to help them as much as I could, by explaining what I will be doing and how it will help them. I will have to work on working with anxiety to help me overcome this
A: you will deal with suctioning sterilizing prep before each patient so everything is ready for the next, passing the necessary instruments that the dentist will need during any procedure you will do a little of everything Q: How is your experience as a DA? A: you will learn a lot from working with with dentist they are very intelligent people, some people don 't enjoy it as much as other but that all comes down to the
Being that I have great qualities such as being comfortable with close personal interaction, easy to talk to, trustworthy, a detail-oriented person, a leader, excited about the profession of dentistry, passionate about providing care to those in need and much more , I feel that this career is for me.
When I arrived, I received a badge to be able to get through the building since it’s a locked unit, which means that you must have badge access to be able to get into the operating rooms or any areas that aren’t patient rooms. When I walked in the nurses were doing their daily huddle. That when they talk about how many surgeries they will have that day, and if they are missing any nurses or doctors. I got to meet all the nurses from both the post and pre-operative side. I had previously worked with a few of the nurses before at
Becoming a dental hygienist has not only been just a dream of mine, but also my fathers. From a young age, my father started inspiring me to pursue a career in the field of dentistry. After countless hours of watching videos, speaking to advisors about the career path, and shadowing underneath Dr. Soltanian’s dental hygienist by the name Ms. Lopez that I solidified the idea of becoming a dental hygienist. I fell in love with becoming a dental hygienist after the first day of shadowing her. The idea of being involved in the field of dentistry has reinforced the idea of promoting proper oral hygiene not just within myself, but with others too.
I shadowed her for almost three hours. About one hour was spent on conversations about the dentistry and preparing the clinic for the coming patient, one hour for treating the patient and about another hour for responding to my comments and questions. At the time of the appointment, it was time to observe a cleaning process of the teeth cleaning called prophylaxis which is basically thorough cleaning of the teach using different tool and techniques. Before Dr.Azhar started working on the patient , she asked me to write down any
As I was getting my assignment for the day, I was thinking “Am I going to remember what to say, or how to perform certain skills?” But, to my surprise, I was able to jump right back in. My patient was an 84 year old male, admitted with a blocked common bile duct. I was, able to talk with him, and do his assessment with no problem.
Ever since I was young, dentistry had sparked my interest for my career. Dentistry appeals to me chiefly because I had always wanted to be involved in a profession where I can help people. My love towards human biology especially human teeth also contributes to my career choice. Most importantly, I find human teeth interesting, often fascinating. Due to my compassionate nature, I have since long known that I would want to pursue dentistry as my career because I get to form relationships with my patients, work hand in hand with many people on a face to face basis.
