When I first received this assignment I was excited by the opportunity to cook at home, and the opportunity to choose what I got to cook. My gut instinct was to peruse Pinterest for meals that I wanted to cook, I selected the five most interesting I found. After baking the first assignment, cream puffs, I realized that I should focus on everyday meals that I knew my family enjoyed. In the end, I ended up cooking: cream puffs, schnitzel, cream cheese pound cake, pot roast, and banana pudding.
The first thing I decided to make was cream puffs. I found a recipe on Pinterest and decided to try it. At the beginning of the recipe, everything went well and I made the dough with relative ease. Everything went rather well in this recipe. Except my grandma did not have Pam at her house to spray the sides of the pan. Instead of Pam, I sprayed the sides with Crisco. This made the finished cake stick to the sides of the pan, and not come out as smoothly as I would have liked. Besides that, the cake was a bit dry because the oven runs a bit hotter than most ovens but I failed to take that into consideration when baking the cake. I believe that the cake had a nice flavor despite its dry texture.
I cooked a pot roast next. For this dish, I used a dutch oven. I made this in the morning because it has to cook for a long time. I forgot to prepare the vegetables to go into the dish the previous morning, so I had to cut all of the vegetables early in the morning so that it would ready for lunch. I didn’t cut the potatoes into small enough pieces, so there weren’t that many pieces of potato. I also should have been a bit more careful while searing the meat, to not get hit by any oil coming out of the pan. Overall, I think the roast tasted good and turned out rather
Stream rises from the plate as freshly grated parmesan cheese is sprinkled around the plate and light layers, lowly melting into the pasta. After enjoying the main meal, the waiter kindly hands, me a smaller menu containing all the different deserts they offer. After looking through the menu the waiter suggested the most popular item, which is the chocolate pineapple upside down cake. The moistness of the cake can be seen once it arrives at the table. On top the chef drizzles raspberry, mango and pineapple sauce across.

My Thanksgiving Memories by Keri Faulkner In November, there’s a gathering of families to express their gratitude toward others and God. This time in November we call this Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is always celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, filled with religious and a traditional meal.
The next time I pipe I will make fewer mistakes and will not have to go through the same trial and error as I previously had to. During the process of making the cake and decorating it I have learnt the best way to perform this task and the next time I make it I will be able to do it faster because I won’t need to constantly read the recipe. I also know the best way to make the recipe and have slightly adapted the recipe to get the correct consistency. In the future, I will remember the adaptations I made and will be able to perform them immediately (Nelson, 1988: 637). There are many different levels of occupation that combine during making a cake.
The texture, the way it came out of the oven was wrong. After a while, I realized that baking is what I make, not what someone else makes. I could be inspired by what she made, but it would never come out the way that it did, and that was because the way that she baked was different. I basically could have not made my cookies taste as good as hers, and that is because even if I used the same ingredients as her, she may have mixed them a different way, and that is why it never came out the way that she made
The sociological imagination on food In this assignment I am going to talk about the sociological imagination on food and the aspects it brings with it. Before starting that large process I firstly will explain what the social imagination is and what the key points of the imagination are in able to fully understand the topic; food and its history, biography, and the relation it has in society. According to National Restaurant Association, the United States of America’s culinary industry sales are expected to hit a record high of $709.2 billion in 2015 in which will represent the sixth consecutive year of the growth in culinary industry. This creates a ripple effect, generating an immense demand of chefs to take on these positions and the education sector has taken advantage by rushing forward to fulfil these need and offers plethora of courses suit to the interest of prospective students. Culinary schools are notorious for training vocational educations and in the field training, establishing qualified professionals ready to find their feet in the industry. Needless to say, culinary students, do receive advantages at the drop of a hat but is certainly not a golden ticket to the culinary industry.

I feel that this class has changed my whole perception of what family work is, the importance of not getting caught up in the content and focussing on the process of identifying strengths that the family has which can be used to perpetuate ongoing homeostasis. This course also highlighted for me how much more I still need to learn about supporting the family system. I have been working with families for about 10 years, mostly with supporting positive parenting and also with families who have children and youth experiencing mental health concerns. I feel that my process orientated interactions have been effective for my gathering of information but not necessarily helpful for the long-term healthy coping of the family. By watching you, listening to your teachings and participating and observing role plays I feel that these experiences have led to not only practical knowledge but a new perspective of the importance of stepping back and trying to walk in the client’s shoes.
The cookie dough was not overly sweet, but it also did not have any of the subtle flavors that I was looking for--no toffee, butter, vanilla, or butterscotch. It was, for the most part, bland with the exception of the sugar on the bottom of the cookie. If that sugar had been incorporated into the batter, the dough would have been more enjoyable. So, it is important to teach the student the basics of the lifestyle so that they can be more responsible in the future. Cooking is a lifestyle component, and it is an essential skill to learn because without food no one can live. Based on that, every student in Qatar should learn how to cook because they benefit a great deal from this knowledge, especially for the students because if they learn when they are young, they will keep doing it, and there are people against this step because they see it from a different point of view. Although some people oppose the idea that every student in Qatar should learn how to cook, it is an action that is a step in the right direction because it will help the student in many areas, and they should learn it at the schools as cooking classes.

Once your kitchen is good as heaven, then your meals will taste like paradise, for you, another family members, and also your guests.
