I never knew what it was like to be the worst in the room at something, especially when it came to music. It wasn’t until junior year of high school that I realized that being the worst at something was a valuable learning experience. In spite of juggling varsity soccer and a rigorous academic schedule, I found myself among the top saxophone players in the school and even in the county. I consistently placed alongside the top musicians in every audition. Once I began auditioning at the district level, however, everything changed. Freshman year of high school presented quite the wake-up call. I, along with a few of my peers who had been working exceptionally hard for the past few months, arrived at Dallastown High School. We convinced ourselves
When we first moved here my mom went to one of the high school football games and was amazed by the spirit of the fans. She then found out that it was because the football team had won the last two games and they are supposed to be a losing team. Also at this time my brothers and I had been telling my mom for years she needed to quit smoking which she had been doing since she was 13. So, we designed a contract. The contract stated that if the Wabash High School football team had a winning season meaning they had to win 5 games that my mother had to quit smoking.
I can not remember a year where I was as excited for the Vikings season and then this goes and happens. Twenty minutes into practice on Tuesday Teddy Bridgewater took a snap from under center and as he was dropping back to pass he screamed in agony and went down. He suffered some sort of non contact knee injury. Everybody in the building could tell how serious the injury was by the reaction of the players, some cursed, some threw helmets, and some even prayed.
I am Nick Drew, senior football player at Campbell University looking to one day become a Division 1 Football Head Coach. What I want in life is for my family and I to be happy and successful. I think those are two of the biggest, yet simplest things about life. If I’m happy and successful then I believe that everything else will fall into place. Along with my family being happy and successful I also want my players that I coach to be happy and successful.
One sunny afternoon on June 6, 2012 we gathered at the neighborhood baseball field in Wizzy, TX. The neighborhood kids came and family members it was quite a lot of kids that gathered to play today. We started off picking leaders and teams dividing us up in even amounts and flipping a coin to see who hits first. We started the ball game and both teams were doing amazing with fielding and hitting. Then boom the drama started and nobody had a clue why Enrique and Birdie were fighting.
Aaron Rodgers is a professional NFL quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. He inspires me the most by who he is and what he does. I have only met him twice and hope to meet him a couple more times. He has inspired me by what he has told me. A quarterback for a professional football team has taught me and told me a lesson that I will always remember and never forget.
Erik and I first met back in kindergarten playing baseball for the highly recognized Eagles organization. Erik was third base, I played shortstop, and from that point on a friendship was bonded. We both attended Cherry Hills Village Elementary School through 5th grade. Seeing how we shared all the same activities, it was hard not to become friends at such an early age. During the week we would have class, baseball or football practice, and detention.
It was the last football game the score was 21 to 26 there was only 7 seconds left on the clock John Got the ball He was at the 20 yard line he was close to the touchdown he got to the ten the five touchdown! wildcats that’s the game wildcats have won the championship 27-26. It was the championship the wildcats vs the knights it was 24-24 the knights were at the 10 yard line getting ready to score. John was on defence hoping the knights don't score with 7 seconds left on
Broken The hot, humid, winter air flowed through my nostrils. The sweet smell and feel of Louisiana weather overwhelmed me as I stepped out of our big suburban. I let the heat swarm over me and just wondered how the weather could be so nice in mid-December. My family and I had taken a car trip down to Louisiana for Christmas and I was already loving everything about it.
When I was in high school, football was my primary after school activity. For at least fifteen weeks I would spend five days a week doing something with football. My senior year I started for a team that only lost one game in the regular season. Now that I look back at my time as a football player I can see very obvious stimuli for my growth as a player and a person. From the time I first started playing to the end, I wanted to get better, my brothers on the team pushed me and I had coaches that taught and pushed me.
The journey has come to an end, since the first day I ever put cleats on to play was one of the most amazing feelings ever. I couldn’t have been more blessed to the gamed of football. As a young child my dad always had me in that sport or doing something active as if it was cleaning the house or being outside with him or hanging out with friends around the neighborhood. When Odessa High let the freshman be a part of the football program, we were the first class to play as bronchos. I was a little disappointed to know I was going to be wearing red already instead of purple one last time.
Football Season! Why? Well, not because of the screaming fans, or the metallic gold helmets and blue jerseys, but its ability to stir interest in a diversified group of people. Football attracts alumnus and this capability demonstrates the school pride that is instilled within generations. Indicating the abundance of assurance that each individual is receiving: that they’re wanted, cared for, and loved.
My life with football With everything in the world I could be doing there is one thing that makes me lose track of time the most. That one thing is football, I've played since I was 8 years old. Football is such an unreal experience it's so hard to explain. I have been playing football for 10 years now and I wish I could play longer but I know that my football days are going to be over soon.
Thank you for coming and watching me play in Florida. My team ended up tying for 9th out of 101 teams. Here is some more film from this past club season. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMbViO88gjA I just had my first high school volleyball tournament up in the Wisconsin Dells we finished 2-1. My high school team doesn 't have a true setter
The first time on a football field and i was very hyped about it cause i got to play and the coach put me as starter because i was the biggest one on the field. The very first play we got sacked but are left lineman didn't stop the ball they got pushed over and we got sacked. The ball was on the 25 yard line and we were trying to get to the fifteen yard line to get the first down and we were short 10 yards but we could still get cause if we work hard you play hard.
On my first year of football, it was the 7 game of the season and it was my names day. So in the 2nd or 3rd quarter the had done a pass to me and i scored a touchdown, and then defense went on the field and we had made the other team hadn't punted the ball so we had a turnover on downs and we did some running plays and they weren't getting yards so the couch picked a pass play to me again. I had ran the route and had caught the ball.
