Getting Nova The fiery ball burned my eyes! Well, the fiery ball was just the sun, but it still burned my eyes. It was 6 o’clock in the morning and I was up. Tired, but excited because today I was getting a new dog. My family and I loaded into the van like a bunch of babies into a carriage. Pagosa Springs was the final destination. The trip was going to be a long, treacherous and painful journey. I was willing to endure the pain for my new dog. I already picked out a name, Nova. The long drive would take 5 brutal hours and I knew boredom would set in. To prevent the boredom I tried to imagine what life was going to be like with Nova. Along the way there was some very beautiful
It was 10.30pm when all of us got together as one to start the jouney from the fort bus stand. We were excited when the bus started moving and couldn't wait to reach the destination. It was all misty on the way and all we knew is that we are going to have a great time. The bus driver didn't stop exactly where we wanted to get down.
The more I drove the more hope I found and in that hope seemed to be strength. After several more stops for food, bathroom breaks, gas and taking care of animal needs we finally reached our destination of the big city of Virginia Beach. Pulling into the driveway I was surprised by new friends waiting to help us unload the U-Haul. Unloading our belongings did not seem as difficult for me emotionally as loading them did.
People know that Stargirl is different, Stargirl teaches me that being myself is perfect. She wears different clothes, she meditates, she does what makes her content and from my knowledge teenagers don’t usually do those things. In a way I am a Stargirl, I don’t do all the things that Stargirl does, because I am different in my own way. When Stargirl came into the cafeteria, she was different and stood out.
The transition from eighth grade to ninth grade is one of the most difficult but unforgettable things a student must do in his adolescence. For me, it was filled with new opportunities of taking Ap classes and joining clubs. One of these cubs was Youth and Government (Y&G). For as long as I can remember my brother, Riad, has boasted about how amazing Y&G is and how it has changed his life. My brother is three years older then me, so as a freshman he was a senior in Y&G.
I didn't know who I was, or where I was. I was scared, so scared. Out of nowhere I started glowing, heating up everything around me. "Do you feel that? " I heard a faint voice ask.
Lani: I was helping for someone’s project for COMM 245; I was in the video lab, in the studio. I was on campus and decided to contact everyone I knew who comes to the school. I remember I sent out a snap saying guys I think there is a shooting, be careful and then I started sending out individual texts to people making sure they were okay, like hey are you good? Stay out of an area.
This is a fun, exciting, and cheerful game. It has bunches of people watching others. It makes me feel good when I walk up to the plate. I always feel like I’m at home when I step onto the field. I play my position and have fun doing it.
But at the end i'm finally able to go on a family trip. Two days have passed every day has been more and more exciting for my brother and I. My brother was so excited one day that he was already in the car because he thought that we were already heading to the airport. The night that we were leaving we had to wake up at 3:00 in the morning.
It was my seventh grade year. We went down to Florida for my sister’s senior year spring break trip. It was nice to have my parents, my sisters and me all vacationing together; we were sure to have a good time. We were staying at a resort in Kissimmee, Florida, a couple minutes away from Orlando. We had many activities planned, Disney parks, downtown Disney and my personal favorite: Cape Canaveral.
I watched as the big fiery ball climbed above everything else. It shot out orangish-red rays from all direction and made the town brighter. As lovely as the morning was I knew that today wouldn't be horrible. I could only watch from down here, the beautiful shining star.
Andrew, my older brother, in middle of the road he was tired to keep ride the ox for 1 month. He asked me to replace him, so he can get some sleep. But then I do not have any experience of riding ox, that cause our wagon go wrong trail. The sky was dark like almost rain, I was panic. Everyone was in poor health because digest least food.
It was the last inning in our all-star game, and we were losing 10 to 8. Our team had 2 outs and we couldn’t get the third. Our pitcher was doing bad, throwing all balls, while all of us in the field were tired, ready to fall asleep at any moment. There goes another walk. They score again.
He deserved this trip and I knew that, but for some reason, the excitement in his voice that day tore a hole in my heart. His joy was a cruel reminder of everything I had lost, of all the things I would never do again. “Hey, Jennie? You still there?”
