Last year I became captain on the Soccer Varsity team of my high school. Being captain isn’t just being the head of all the girls, but is doing the best for the team. My goal was to work as a team in and outside the field, and working together to win and have fun. But my conflicts with certain girls were getting in the way, because how can I expect them to do a certain thing if I’m not setting an example. I chose to talk to those girls, set things straight and set an example to my teammates.
I remember when I was four years old, I would play soccer with the big kids right in front of my grandma's house. As we all know in Colombia there is a lot of poverty, many soccer fields are old and ruined so we have to play in the middle of the street with a used up torn ball. Every time a car comes by we have to pause the game and move out the way. Soccer has taught me many life lessons like teamwork, communication, and
One of my best days was when my soccer team won the championship. I won several other championships ,but with other teams. This was my first season playing with this team. The major characters in this event were me, my teammates, my coaches and the parents. This event took place in a park at sanger during the summer.
Everybody has a passion for something that they enjoy doing and spend most of their time doing. I enjoy playing soccer and it has become one of my biggest passions ever since I was the age of 5. I enjoy playing it more than any other sport I have ever participated in. The soccer program in Sigourney allows you to play from preschool all the way up to 6th grade.
Soccer is the number 1 sport in the world. There are 11 players per team, and 3 major position zones that, when added together creates the possibility of 23+ different individual positions. The 3 major position zones are Defense, Midfield and Forward/Striker. Of all the positions involved, the midfielder requires the most preparation as he/she will be the one on the ball 70-80 percent of the time. Although it is the most difficult position to play there are key steps you can take to become a good midfielder.
I began playing soccer when I was eight, which isn’t a very long time, but throughout the six years I’ve been playing, soccer has changed my life. My weekends, as well as some of my weekdays, have been devoted to soccer. Soccer has taught me how to be humble, kind and how to make sure my emotions don’t overpower my
I used to run down the sideline shaking the goal jar, now I run around with a cash box at every school event asking for donations for the senior class. I’ve realized that some things never actually change, they just evolve to become something bigger. Soccer challenged me, brought me a great amount of happiness, and truly inspired me to be the leader I am
Being shoved to the ground and coming up with a mouthful of turf and a bloody nose isn’t the ideal way to spend a friday night, but for me, it's something I put blood, sweat, and tears into. Soccer has been a passion of mine since my father dropped me off at the local YMCA when I was at the tender age of four. Spending all of my free days for thirteen years running after a soccer ball is arguably what made me into the person I am today. Unity, tenacity, passion and pride have all been morals that are valued within the sport and in my own philosophy. I have explored places I’d never give a second thought to because my sport took me there.
I have been playing soccer since before I could even walk. In fact, I joined my first soccer team at the age of five. Soccer is something I have always loved and been passionate about. When I was on the co-ed recreation league teams I was one of the only girls on my team, so I had to compete with boys who doubted me and thought I was weak. I worked hard during practice and out of practice to become better and, eventually, I became more aggressive than them.
Initially, my mind was set to join the soccer team. However, I found out there weren’t any openings available. The only team that had an opening was The Cross Country Team. I was terrified…my parents encouraged me to join as there wasn’t an option not to.
One of the most significant activities in my life would have to be soccer ever since I got a hold of the ball in 10th grade, it sparked my interest and a fire was ignited. It simply stared with a few friends asking me to join them then slowly progressed into everyday after school I would go outside to kick around the ball, I never really knew it was for me until I started getting more into it, soccer became my outlet more like an escape for me, it was somewhere I could go when I needed to be alone just the ball and I. Honestly, I never knew that it would affect me in the way it has, it started out as a just for fun kind of thing, then it escalated into actually playing games, turning more into a passion and I could actually see myself in the
Soccer brought me out my kind of addiction to video games which were my life during my childhood. Soccer got me outside and around people more to socialize. It was not easy for me at first to just go and join the soccer team after not playing any sport since I was around seven years old. I worked hard for about a year before I joined the high school team. I spent many hours outside for many days to get into shape and fit enough to play for long periods of time.

Volunteering is a way of helping others. It is giving a person 's time and ability to help someone who may be in need of help. Not only does volunteering help others, but what they may not know is that it can be helpful to themselves. It is a great way for someone to interact with others in their community. It gives someone that time to themselves while also creating bonds when they are doing the greater good.
