On Sunday 01/08/17 at 0312 hours I was dispatched to a physical domestic at 1551
Today was another busy but fulfilling day. I got checked off with my head-to-toe assessment. I followed my regular nurse, Nurse Clea. Since I mostly knew the routines of my patients, I started by doing rounds. I checked my patients one by one to see if they were stable and responsive. With Nurse Dre Dre, the night nurse, I got to do suctioning, tracheotomy care and start feedings. I feel like I’m getting confidently effective with my communication skills everyday that my I’m learning and enhancing my nursing skills. I was able to educate a family member who was not wearing protective equipment inside an isolation room the importance of wearing one to prevent the spread of infections and promote wellness.
My three shot story illustrates that you can’t always trust what you see. In frame one I used a close candid shot to show how deep the snow is. In the next frame I used a medium shot straight to show a little more of the background to show the where the colvard is compared to the road . Then in the last frame I did a point of view, long shot to show the tracks off the road. The first shot uses a close shot to try and exclude all the background, and get more of the detail. By doing a close up shot the, it gets how deep the snow is from the road. The second shot uses a medium high angle shot to show the colvard with some of the tracks, and where the tracks are in comparison to the colvard. I also used with the second shot a lighter effect to
When I think about the person I am today I think about the people that have helped raise me. We all grow up with different experiences, environments, lifestyles, and people in our lives who help shape who we are. One person that has made a big impact in my life would be my nana and her name is Bea Wilson. She has been in my life since the moment I was born. My nana has shown me that you can make something good out of bad situation.
I left. I’d rather dream. The property we desire, Alan and I, has a broad horizon inviting us over, a beautiful home that we plan to plant there. And at this very moment I’m suddenly impatient for having hopelessly ruined my best intentions for a brief holiday.
Lani: I was helping for someone’s project for COMM 245; I was in the video lab, in the studio. I was on campus and decided to contact everyone I knew who comes to the school. I remember I sent out a snap saying guys I think there is a shooting, be careful and then I started sending out individual texts to people making sure they were okay, like hey are you good? Stay out of an area. I didn’t know how many people were getting shot. I just knew it’s not good and that we have to be careful. At first, the campus was like we are unsure, just be careful, and then it took some time till I finally got an email that said stay on campus and were held there for about two hours, I just kept recording.
I used to be so oblivious. I would attend school every day and criticize my surroundings, little did I know how much I actually had. Come junior year, I observed a flyer for a club called S.A.L.T. (Student-Athlete Leadership Team), it seemed interesting to me so I decided to fill out an application. During our first meeting at 6:45 in the morning, Coach Jones, the head of the club, explained, “I did not cut anyone since you will cut yourself, you will give up and you will not want to put the work in, so you will stop coming. As a result, I will know who our leaders are”. That proclamation was something that genuinely made me think.
I would be most grateful if you could indicate a convenient time to meet you during this or next week.
It was an early Saturday morning, when just Dad, Grandma, and I were awake. Dad and I were trying to figure out where to go on the four wheeler. There was little puddles everywhere. The yard still had really cold, wet, dew on the ground. The sun was coming up so bright we didn’t need any lights. Somewhere in the front yard a snorting deer came from nowhere. I could see it through the big front window. A big squirrel responded to the deer, and then a second squirrel joined. They sang out deer and squirrel for a short time. And when their voices faded away, it was as quiet as the woods.
¨Yeah, Darry I’m fine, why wouldn't I be okay, just that I have a very small headache, nothing to worry about ¨
Suddenly, we heard a noise coming from the bottom of dad’s car. My family and I had just gotten back from a road trip. “What is that”? I wondered. My dad walked over to the car and peered under. A few moments later, he stood back up and said, “nothing”. I figured it could just be something in the trunk. Then, we saw something drop from the bottom of the car, and we all looked underneath to see what it was. It was a kitten! A tiny black and white kitten just came from our car! I looked like it was cold, and needed some shelter. The cat looked tired and hungry. Of course, we couldn’t let the cat wonder around in the streets by itself, so we decided to take her in and care for her until we found her owner.
In America, there has been many terrible tragedies happening in the past year. From the woman killed in Charlesville for peacefully protesting, to the recent incident that happened in Las Vegas, where over five hundred were wounded. These catastrophic events make you question what this country has come to. It makes you feel hopeless, like there is nothing we can do to make a difference. We can make a change! If we all work together as Americans and spread as much love as we can, we can conquer all hate.
We went to sleep last night after our argument.Zara started crying after I asked her that question so I decided not To Push It Any Further For Her Own Sake. That Didn 't Mean I Would Stop Trying Thought.
When I walked into Mr. Clayton’s class last year on the first day of school I laughed when he said, “I’m going to teach you how to read.” Little did I know he wasn’t kidding. I was a little intimidated taking his class because in my previous freshman year I was in non-honors English 1. All my life I’ve had trouble interpreting and really understanding beyond the general storyline. The first thing Mr. Clayton talked to us about was learning the deeper meaning behind things and I started to get genuinely worried because I knew this wasn’t my strong suit. English was never my good side; I’ve always been a math and science type of person. I began to ask myself, “why did I decide to take honors?” When I look back on the beginning of that year to the end, my confidence in inferring and just being able to get more out of a story skyrocketed. Without really telling me, Mr. Clayton taught me, in the simplest terms, not to give up. This inability to understand was almost like a learning disability for me and he really made me realize I could overcome anything. His class and him as a person has made me a better reader and I can see it through things that happen in my daily life. Whether I’m doing my homework, taking a test, or just listening to music on the radio Mr. Clayton has completely
Well this weekend kicked off with a great start. Starting with my basketball dominating at our game. I actually scored a basket for once and played good defense. It was a very frustrating game having people yell at me from all sides. Though in the end we played a great game even with a few bumps along the way. In the fourth quarter, however, Lana, whose in the seventh grade, rolled her ankle by accident. She was very persistent on going back into the game and high fiving the other team, but we refused to let her get up. We told her she needed her rest and needed to not put weight on her leg. She's a pretty tough girl and I hope she feels better soon.
