Ani Zhang 12 / 15 / 17 Period 6 I love you Bailey: A Sequence of Events Bailey named her white bear Dan and her gray bear Randy and put them on a shelf above her bed, where they sat throughout her childhood. Honestly, she didn't give them much thought. They had become fixtures of her room, the same way the old lamp and dresser were. Every now and again, she would come home from school to find one of her parents standing beside her bed, looking up at the bears or giving them a little squeeze. Even as time passed, they still recited their single phrase without fail. Aside from those instances, though, Dan and Randy were little more than dust collectors from her childhood. When Bailey went away to college, the two didn't make the cut and were left behind while she made her way out into the world for the first time. Her parents were a little disappointed that she wasn't more sentimental over the teddies, but any memories she had of …show more content…
"Ok." She said. "Well, they'll be here if you change your mind." But Bailey was pretty confident she wouldn't have a change of heart. The next time she went back to her parents' place was to house sit while her dad took her mom on their long awaited vacation out west. He'd been promising her they'd go for over thirty years and they were both buzzing with excitement. This was going to be their first vacation as a couple since they recently got married and she wasn’t quite sure if they were comfortable with it. Although they were both eager to go, Bailey could tell her mom was slightly nervous. "You remember where all the financial documents are just in case anything happens to us, right?" She asked from the backseat at least six times on the drive to the airport. "Yes, in the plastic, white bin under your bed." "And the
On the other hand being a parent was not the only issue that Bailey ran
By the end of the summer, Octavia looked past Mares long nails and stiletto shoes, and payed attention to her characteristics. Like Octavia, Tibby gained more respect for Tibby once she got to know her. Tibby first met Bailey at Wallman’s were Tibby worked, since Bailey passed out and Tibby rode with her in the ambulance. Since that day Bailey went back to Wallmans everyday to see her, but Tibby thought she was very annoying and way to young for them to be friends. One day Bailey didn’t show up to the store, because she is at the hospital, and Tibby refused to go and visit her.
Bailey’s relationship with her mom’s side of the family is very close. Staying the night with her grandparents would put a big, goofy smile on her face.
On May 20,1996 I was born Damione Freeman growing up in a small city named Pell City. Growing up wasn't easy for me father was never around just leaving me with my mother. As a child I was always happy, caring, and well mannered. When I turned five I started living with my grandmother, Dianne Freeman and my uncle, Akeem Freeman. At the age of five I was torn away from my mother because of her husband and his issues.
Henry Bailey suffered from bronchial troubles. He would cough and cough until his narrow face turned scarlet, and his light blue, derisive eyes filled up with tears; then he took the lid off the stove, and, standing well back, shot out a great clot of phlegm – hss – straight into the heart of the flames. We admired his for this performance and for his ability to make his stomach growl at will, and for his laughter, which was full of high whistlings and gurglings and involved the whole faulty machinery of his chest. It was sometimes hard to tell what he was laughing at, and always possible that it might be us. After we had sent to be we could still smell fox and still hear Henry's laugh, but these things reminders of the warm, safe, brightly lit downstairs world, seemed lost and diminished, floating on the stale cold air upstairs.
“Well then, allow me to give you a tour of the premises.” Alex proposed. “Okay,” mom
Having a boyfriend that rejects you sucks. When it all became too much for Skylar Evans, she moves to Los Angeles to live with her aunt. She had an almost perfect life; a sweet, caring boyfriend, good grades, and rarely any arguments with her aunt. That is, until after her high school graduation. She returns to Cincinnati, Ohio for college, where she crosses paths with her opressor, Chris.
This really highlights her bad personality and shows that she only cares about herself. Just after the family’s accident later on, she was “hoping she was injured so that Bailey’s wrath would not come down on her all at once” (O’Conner 1148). This displays indifference and apathy. Similarly, this shows that she is only worrying about herself in this time that
However, her son and son’s wife treat her indifferent throughout the narration “Bailey didn’t look up from his reading so she wheeled around then and faced the children’s mother, a young woman in slacks, whose face was as broad and innocent as a
Although the daughter of Bailey and the grandmothers granddaughter, is cute, she's just plain nasty to everybody, as we learn pretty early on in the story from the way she treats her grandmother: "She wouldn't stay at home for a million bucks," June star said. "Afraid she'd miss something. She has to go everywhere we go" (O’Connor 7). The grandmother was opposed to going where her son wanted to go, and she too is demanding just like her granddaughter. The grandmother knew that her son would no longer listen to her, so she got the children to plead her case.
Bailey is a troublemaker at both houses, but is loved by everyone. During one summer at the farm, Ethan meets Hannah. He eventually asks Hannah to be his girlfriend, she says yes, and Bailey approves the girl as she is constantly petting him. Back at the boy’s house, Bailey saves Ethan from arson. He suffers a leg injury, which ends his high school football career.
He uses a pitiful tone along with imagery to highlight the effect of the injury on Bailey’s day-to-day life. He describes Bailey spending most of his life in his brother’s basement knitting wool hats and listening to the
sweetie,” Mother said calmingly. “This place isn’t so bad,” she lied to Yuki, protecting her from facing reality. as long as we have each other, Ken, Emi and Grandma, we’ll be alright.” Yuki didn’t say a word, her lips just started to tremble like a frightened baby. “Family will always stick together.
“Where are we going? For how long? Can I stay with grandpa? Do I have to go?” I said.
Bailey's shirt was what finally made the redemption and forgiveness aspect to click for the grandmother. I took till the grandmother saw the misfit in baileys shirt to realize that she was the one that needed to forgive the misfit for the crimes he committed and see him as her child because that is the only way she will truly be able to receive and find grace and
