On our way to Regionals everyone on the bus was pumped up. We couldn’t wait to arrive at Troy. I can remember as soon as we left the school I got that tight feeling in my stomach that I was like, oh my gosh I can not wait. On our way Alexis Moon and I sat in a seat together and just discussed how excited we were. We pulled up at the park playing the song “Panda” on the bus with our speaker, we were all just overwhelmed. My thoughts as I was walking on the field were, let's see how good I can be. We make it through the first game winning, that means we have another game, and guess what? Won it too. We get to the last game as the only undefeated team. Someone would have to beat us two times in a row for us to go home. We go and look at the bracket and guess what it says? West Blocton. Our thoughts were scrambled at the time. If we didn’t win any more games after this one we wanted to beat West Blocton. We wanted to beat them so bad because they put us out of the tournament two years in a row because we couldn’t hit their pitcher. So, our words were, “We are coming for you.” As we got ready for the championship game as an undefeated team I will never forget what was going through my head. I was thinking, “warm up good, throw strikes, you …show more content…
We can out scoring runs and making plays like we knew we could. Everyone was hitting off of a pitcher that shut us down two years in a row, so of course that was good. It got close to the end of the game and got up to bat and I was saying to myself, “You have to just hit the ball hard.” So I didn’t just hit the ball hard I hit what we call a “dong” or to you guys, over the fence. As the crowd got loud and we all got excited we had one more inning to hold them and we had them run ruled. I learned that nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it. We proved it by showing people we could beat West
We decided to go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Soon after we ate, we had to return to the convention center for the results. My team and I waited on stage for our division to be called. Right before the announcer said the results, we all held hands in anticipation and excitement. We just knew we were going to win.
They hit one of our best pitchers and they earned that one. We struck out 13 times in that second game,
The third base coach was furious he was in the umpire’s face saying that he just wanted the game to end so he call the kid out. The play itself wasn’t the really cool part, it was that our team had pulled together and beat the team that had knocked us out of the tournament before in extra innings on a lucky hit. None of us knew it yet, but this was going to be a great year. We were almost like
The True Diary of Luke Skewis By; Luke Skewis Hi I’m Luke Skewis. I’m a 5’7, Sophomore at Negaunee High School. The stories you are about to read and very important lessons I learned from my friends, family, and coaches.
The announcer said who got second place, and everyone on my team started crying. “ The first place team advancing to Florida is the La Porte Slicers!” My team stood up and started screaming. As a result, we made it to Florida! My coach went up to get our trophy and we all took pictures with it.
Possession was the one thing on everyone’s mind. Time was evaporating, the other team and their fans started to get optimistic. The buzzer announced the end of the competition and the roar from our opponents deafened cries from our team and our fans. We had lost the first game for our program in fourteen years.
Carter said to me on the way back into the dugout, “I’m as nervous as a fireman on his first call.” I said, “Don’t be. We are going to win, then advance, and the win state.” The game finally started. We were the home team, so we started in the field first.
Baseball is my favorite sport and I had a lot of memories. I have been playing baseball for 5 years. 3 years ago I was on the Serra Minor Giants and we were playing a game against the Minor Pirates. We were losing 8 - 5 and the bases were loaded. One of my teammates was batting, he stepped into the batter 's box about to take a swing.
As days went by it was time for the big game. I was never this terrified in my life. The score was going back and forth. First it was 1-0 then 1-1 and so on. But when it came to the bottom of the 8th.
Andrus noticed that Padres pitcher Kevin Quackenbush wasn 't paying attention from the stretch, and he stole home on the righty to make it 8-4. That 's playing with energy, playing lose, and having fun, all vital when making a
Despite the newspapers and previews saying we would not contend for the state title that year, I kept in my head that anything could happen. Going into the year I told our team “lets focus on what we can do to improve, and not worry about anyone else”. At the beginning, other teams were too strong for our inexperienced runners to compete with, but we didn’t change the focus. Practice after practice, I made sure we were doing everything we could to be at our best for the end of the year. I didn’t care what other teams were doing because we had no control over that.
My home baseball team didn’t win the world series in a 108 years. I said to myself this is the year it’s all going to go down. The Chicago cubs made it so far in the season this year and worked so hard they finally made it into the world series. I watched all the games in the series that each had their ups and downs, but not one of them was as big of a nail biter as this one. It had all come down to this game.
I have been waiting since the start of summer for this day, the day to go against Topeka West the school that have been talking stuff for the longest. There was so much hype about this game and it was finally here, when the bell ringed at the end of the day i rushed out of class and got on the bus to head over to chandler our practice field. When we got there we all the football players loaded off the bus and when we got off there was a table of chips, water, gatorade,PB & J and fruit snacks so we didn’t play on an empty stomach. After we ate and got ready coach talk to us for a little bit and then we got on the bus to head to Hummer sports park, it was a loud bus
but we had a motive we had an inspiration for the win. It was five o’clock and we had an hour till game time, and I was on my way to the field I was listening to music trying to get in my “zone”. I kept thinking about my dad’s words “Make this count, treat this like your last game. You will never forget
We faced a lot of obstacles to make it to the peek of our success. This game we played was extremely important was numerous of reasons. A higher ceding in the playoffs and revenge were our main focus. It was thirty seconds left in the fourth and we were down by one point. The tension in the gym was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
