I have decided to pursue a degree in the field of Engineering. Ever since middle school, I have had a strong passion for both math and science. These are two subjects I have always been able to excel in, and that I’ve actually found interesting. Apportionment Research Paper Over the course of the semester, I learned about numerous topics in this math class. All the areas studied showed to be useful in everyday life. From studying sets to studying fractals, I am able to see where these concepts can be applied. One particular lesson that I enjoyed was learning about voting systems, specifically the apportionment method. After seeing that two plans between Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson, I was drawn to the Hamilton plan.
The WiE RISE camp interests me in a variety of ways. To start off, I have always been a math and science kid, I do well in the subjects and I enjoy learning them. This led me to enroll in the STEM class at my middle school which initially got me very interested in Engineering and Architecture and everything even semi-related to those career fields. I did those STEM classes every chance I was offered it, I really loved the idea of making stuff that would be useful and helpful to others. The summer before I started high school I moved to Windermere from Dublin and when I enrolled they had no classes even partially similar to the STEM classes I was taking back in Ohio.

College algebra is fast paced! The work is hard but rewarding up to this point. I’ve found success in studying but realize that I need to keep up with the pace of the class more and by being creative in how I reach my goals. The more I learn, the more I find examples of in society and the world around me. Math 105, is pretty much what I expected in the beginning.
