Personal Narrative: My Dad In Baton Rouge

The talented musician Eddie Money once said “I’ve got two tickets in my pocket, now baby, we’re going to disappear.” What if we all had that? Two tickets to wherever you wanted to go. No one to stop you just you and someone special to you disappearing. If I had the choice to go anywhere in this world, it would be to have one more night with my dad in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Baton Rouge is my birthplace and me and my dad shared a bond with that city. It is where he wanted me to be raised, go to college, and raise my family. He dressed me up in the gold and purple ever since I was a toddler. Imprinted the plays of the tigers and their route running so I could watch the games with him and fully understand. Sitting on the couch on a cold brisk november evening watching LSU play their rival the Crimson tide of Alabama. He himself went to LSU for 2 years and then ended up dropping out, but ever since his goal was to get me into LSU. Flying him to Baton Rouge would put a light in his eye that i would never forget. I would fly him there and take him front row to a LSU game. That is all he always wanted is to see a game live with me and he was never able to accomplish that, and being able to fly him there and take him to a game would make his everything, he would be so grateful. And knowing that i was able to do such a thing would make me feel accomplished. People take the places they 're from for granted or do not appreciate as much as they should. I reside in Houston now, but i will always know Baton Rouge is my home, and that’s where i want to raise my family and be able to look up and feel my dad smiling down upon us, this trip would have meant the world to him and i hope one day i will be able to look down while me and my son go to a LSU tiger game and see the pride and enjoyment that we had and what he has passed
