When I read The Lord of the Rings I remember a quote that sums up my current educational journey, “Home is behind, the world ahead, and there are many paths to tread through shadows to the edge of night, until the stars are all alright.” In high school I had no idea what I was doing or where I was going with life. As a kid I had dreams of being a Jedi when I grew up, and the next Indiana Jones, or an actor. I could do and be anything I wanted, and it was not an impossible thought since I had taken an interest in doing activities around these different subjects. I was even learning the piano and violin and I still play to this day. Sadly, I could not do it all and in high school I became very anxious about myself and what I was going to do. It got worse when I was being bullied in high school nonstop by students and a few teachers.
This all changed for me when I got to meet my heroes, the ones that helped shaped who I was and continue to do so with their work. At Star Wars celebration five I met Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, or as I like to call them Luke and Leia. When I was getting Mark Hamill’s autograph I remember telling

I hope to not only get a degree in engineering and acting, but to make a career in them. For a while I had no idea on what I was meant to do or what I even wanted. But the words of my heroes shined a light on what was right there in front of me. Now I know what the objective is, and that is to touch the hearts of others just like what Carrie and Mark have done, to build the future that Mark Hamill said I can build. They were not the only people from Star Wars that I talked to at the celebration, Billy Dee Williams said the same to me as Carrie Fisher. Now my objective is clear, and that is for me to become an aerospace engineer and work for either NASA or SpaceX, and to become an actor so I can help shape the future of young minds just like my
At the beginning of my sophomore year, August 2015, I fractured my left ankle. My second season of cross country had just begun. The whole team had a Saturday practice at Atlanta Memorial Park. We came to this park for a time trial. Not being able to run was going to be a challenge for me.
I have always wanted to help people and to help them better their lives, but I never could figure out how I could make that passion a reality, until the day I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety at age eleven. After that rough period in life, I learned how I could help other people. I could listen to them and try to help them better understand themselves. Life is much easier for a person when they have people who believe in them like a psychologist or therapist. My college plan would be to earn a bachelor, and master degree in Psychology to become a Behavior Analyst.
By the time I graduate high school, I will already have my college associate degree that I will have earned through my hard work and dedication. Even though I went through a lot at such a young age, it has shaped me in every possible way. I was exposed to a whole different language and culture, but I was able to succeed through my strong desire of success and dedication. I am thankful for every challenge that I had to go through because if it was not for them, I would not be the person I am
In the future I want to be successful not only for myself, but also for my parents and friends to be proud of me. I want to end up being successful with an amazing career, and not end up struggling without the ability
Some people dream to be a successful and famous public speaker. Others want to be a millionaire or a billionaire. Singers as well as actors wish to be successful in their career and become famous. Teachers may hope to succeed in imparting knowledge to their students. Many students simply would like to pass examinations or have good grades in school.
The first half of this semester was swift and I can’t believe how fast it passed by. College is a whole new world for me that I had never imagined with a lot of new experiences that I hope will shift me into a better and smarter person. There are more things I can do in college that I would have never dared to do in high school and I am happy for these new freedoms. I am able to eat in class, leave class without asking and they don’t care if I pay attention or not. My high school teachers would always tell me to wait for the bell, sometimes would not let me leave and if I did not pay attention they would yell.
As I grew, school became an outlook where I could focus and where I felt like I fit in. I always worked well with others and various skill sets. I loved children my age and younger while constantly craving adult relationships with those around me. It wasn’t until after my tenth birthday when my life began to shift.
The great teachers I had truly instilled in me the importance of education and I feel it is my job to pass that on. As far as personal goals I hope to move to the Fargo-Moorhead area to begin my career and be closer to my boyfriend of seven years. It will be the first time that I don’t live in the same town as my parents and although it will be a big change it will be a great experience. Once moving to the Fargo-Moorhead area I hope to get married within the next couple years and start a family down the
I hope to continue to pursue a career in research psychology and make the world a better place through my
I want to be the person who goes on to do bigger and better things. I want to earn a degree, travel, and buy my own house. As the quote by John Muir on my water bottle says, “ The
At this time in our very lives we are planning for the future and making a ladder for ourselves of goals to reach. As you climb higher on the ladder you find yourselves aspiring to take actions that may be more difficult than we imagined. This is just the beginning and we do not give up. As the years come faster I made a list of the things that I am planning on persuing. My major career goal is to go into buisness, and within the buisness industry I want to become a Human Resources Manager.
There are a lot of things in this world that would make the world a better place. And I feel that being a welder and working in sports medicine are two of them. I know that those two fields of work would affect the world around me. I would maybe one day work for the NFL and help all the players get better. Me helping the players will make the world better because everyone loves football.
I slowly shifted my focus from popular trends and gossip to my studies and hobbies. All those years however, trying to be the best daughter I could be for my parents had instilled a sense of responsibility and achievement. I desired success for myself. As a result I graduated high school with honors and began recognizing my interest in human behavior. I spent time pondering about why we choose to behave the way we do and how we learn to perform basic human behaviors like talking, recognizing familiar faces, and caring for others.
When I graduate high school, I plan on having future goals that I plan on achieving. My first goal is to go to college and get a degree. I plan on attending Purdue NorthWest majoring in engineering and minoring in business. This is my number one future goal that I need to accomplish because to be able to have a nice life, I need to go to college to support my future family. My next future goal would be get a starting job to be able to support my future family.
I honestly believe that this goal has driven to my achiever and strategic qualities. My achiever quality has always driven me to strive for more than people expect from me. So, by me achieving this career, I would be proving people wrong that I am more than what they expected. My strategic quality has also always driven me to always get the best of both worlds for me. So, achieving my dream career would give me the best of both worlds.
