The Moua journey began thirteen years ago, fighting to hold the tears back. People said, coming to America will change the life of Hmong families. Many different people, from many different countries, with different communication styles are all over the world that immigrated to America, one of those people are Hmong, they speak two dialects of a language. These dialects are known as Hmoob dawb (Hmong white) and Hmoob ntxhauj (Hmong green). Along twenty-three-hour fight lay ahead of them, as they realize it was time to say good-bye to their native family and home as tears rolled down their eyes.

“Ma 'am, I 'm gonna try my hardest ta keep myself straight. Loud bickering traveled through the wind as the previously generous man demanded the return of his food. Gompo had shared his sampa and butter wishing to lighten his load and now with no food along with freezing weather the regret boiled up in trenches. “Ado [hey]! You better share with me! “ Gompo stomped around the camp saying, “ Please please please” to one person while turning around and demanding from another his reparations “Remember the sampa I shared with you.

I cringe at the smell of alcohol floating around the apartment. A cold shiver simmers down my spine as I hear footsteps making their way to my room. 3 loud, hard knocks bang on the door. I open the door waiting for it. Waiting for the rock solid slap that pierces my face everyday leaving bruises and black eyes the size of tennis balls.
I heard the story behind my parents struggle on how they got to where we are now but one thing that stood out the most to me was when I was 3 years old and my mom told me my dad had gone to immigration jail in Mexico.
Life as a Native American sucks. I realized this when I was a little kid. I’ve come to accept that what other people label or describes us as are true. I’m not happy to admit this they are right. My people don’t do anything to prove these people’s claims, or better known as stereotypes, about Native Americans wrong.
If my Native American tribe was to choose a side between the French and the English, I would pick the French. Firstly, the French have a small population in America. Therefore, they aren 't as demanding for certain supplies since there is less of them. That will leave more supplies for the Native Americans. Also, this means that they won 't take up as much land in America as the English do.
I’m able to resonate with a plethora of things, yet the thing I consider my identity is I’m an adopted, Haitian immigrant. I was born in Haiti in 1998, in a small village in Thomazeau, I moved to Croix-des- Bouquets right after my birth and I lived there until I was 9 years old. My family's financial situation was adequate. My mom was always able to find a way to make ends meet. This cause our neighbor to be envious of us.
Coming from a low income family, living in a small town in India, I learned early on about struggling and surviving those struggles. I watched my parents working day and night to provide for electricity, pay for our monthly school fees so my sister and I can have a better education, and for the future they wished upon for their children. To further enhance this vision, my father decided for the family and I to immigrate to the US. Everything was different in the sense that I changed schools, learned a new language, had to make new friends, and learned the different culture. I had to adapt to a whole new world, which was a little difficult at 6 years old
I chose to interview my best friend and her family who immigrated from Iran. Her father who is christian, stated that the Iran’s government created a threatening environment to live in, especially for religious practices other than Islam. He was a well known, successful chemist but secretly practiced christianity with a group of others in an underground church. He stated the the government was very hostile and would falsely accuse individuals of crimes. Once the government found out that he was associated with practicing christianity, the state made it hard for him to live a normal, safe life.
