Abigale Marta January 23, 2018 Narrative Essay College Composition 5th December Baby Longs for Snow Eight years ago, I woke up on a Wednesday morning, ran to the front door and peeked out the frosted window to see blankets of snow over the streets. My mom informed me that school was cancelled and I was going to stay home all day. Every kid around our area knows the excitement a kid feels from the words “snow day”. Not only was it a snow day, but it was my tenth birthday.
“Wake up,” My mom whispered. It was 6AM in the morning, and my family of four--my brother, my mom, my dad, and I--were packed up to take a roadtrip to Georgia, Alabama. Two of my families live in the area where we were going, and one of them was the family we were staying two nights with. The other family was my Uncle who planned everything, and everyone except my Aunt in that family was the one who didn’t know most of the family was coming to surprise her.
We were the Smith?s. We were a first class family with a massive wooden house, in an enormous wooden neighborhood, surrounded by wooded streets and sidewalks in a tremendous wooden city. I was eight years old and I was very dependent on my father. He would walk me across the street every morning just because he wanted to be the one to protect me and he would tuck me in bed every night and tell nice and soothing stories because he wanted me to have nice and soothing dreams.
When I was six my family went to Fargo. It was late February; I can remember the cool wind blowing on my face when we loaded into the car. We had to go to the Fargo Airport that day to pick up my grandmother. She had spent the last month with our cousins in Arizona. She usually takes a vacation to get away from the cold of the winter.
My sisters me and my friend Ally all decided to take snowboarding lessons for four straight up days and we would be having lessons for four hours a day. The alarm clock rings and we get up. We quickly eat breakfast and slide on our snow clothes. We were ready to leave and take our very first class of snowboarding.
We were headed to Minnesota. My mom, my brother and I. We were meeting the rest of my family to begin our so called expedition. Once we go to Minnesota is when the story truly begins. In Minnesota there’s lot to do, lots to see and lots to eat. We however were staying not for long, we boarded a plane and made our way to Italy.
We drove all the way to Dexter as they proceeded to ask me the usual questions: how my flight went, if I had met any new friends, and so on. All I wanted was to get home to study my flashcards that I had been using on the plane. This next week was leading up to one of the pivotal moments in my life, because I would go to my first day at my new high school. I wasn’t sure what to expect.
My brother and I come up with a plan to clean ice and remaining snow off of cars and sidewalk for money. I had always wanted to do something like this but never had the chance till now. Every house we went up to was friendly and we made about twenty dollars each that day. A few days later school is back in session. This time of felt like a holiday break
Camping Trip Wilderness Style When thinking of time management and handling a situation differently, it brought back memories of one of the first camping trips my husband and I took with our daughter and two of our friends. It was for my birthday on a Saturday one weekend in May. There were quite a few hiccups with the trip, and my husband and I learned some valuable time management strategies to ensure that our next trip was more successful. I will describe the trip, and some different actions could have been taken for an especially successful trip.
After walking home from school he enters his house. There 's his Dad standing there with his sisters with a huge smiles on there faces. Then he got the news that he was going to a Penatonix and Kelly Clarkson concert in Toronto! So the next day off they went!
Once, I was heading to a sports game, The Kansas City Royals to be exact, with my family from Evansville, Indiana Which is about a 6 hour and a half hour drive. My kids were having so much fun singing and messing around. We don 't really get to have family time. But when we do, all of us enjoy it. My husband was driving and said that we were going to stop to get something to eat once we got to Kansas City because we were about 4 hours ahead of schedule.
After they all eat the meal the Colonel’s mom makes then, Alaska and Miles return to the campus for the remainder of the break. When everyone comes back they all look forward to christmas break, which is right around the corner. Eventually everyone leaves for christmas break to go visit their families, even Alaska. When everyone comes back from the time with their family, they are all happy. Someone in the group mentions planning out a pre-prank to have on the Weekday Warriors.
One freezing February Saturday, I needed wake up at six in the morning to go play in a volleyball tournament. The rest of my family was in Arizona and had left me in Iowa Falls, so I wouldn 't miss my finishing tournament of the season. I wasn 't jubilant about it, but I agreed anyway. My grandma drove me up to Dike New Hartford High School.
