At Lake Norman Charter School, our motto is to learn, lead, and serve. The main thing I do is to learn. To learn means to gain or acquire knowledge of or skill in something by study, experience, or being taught. Learning relates to the motto because in order to do the other parts of the motto, you must learn. Students, like myself, live up to the learn part of the motto. It was the day before the first day of school at LNC. There once was a boy who was about to experience his first day at LNC. The boy's name was Sherbert and he was going into fifth grade. Sherbert is average height, but a little thin. He doesn't like to wear jackets, but likes to wear jeans or pants. He was a good student overall and his past teachers liked teaching him because he was respectful and almost never rude. He was curious for knowledge, but liked a small challenge also. His parents like how he learns. He likes to help people if they are stuck, but he doesn't ask many questions. The next day on the first day of school, he didn't see a lot of his friends under the carpool canopy. Eventually, he found his friends, Bob and Nivek, with some other people. Sherbert didn't know these people his old friends were hanging out with. He told Nivek, who is short …show more content…
Polly-O has an older brother and he is in eighth grade. Almost after the drive was over, Nivek asked "Why are we going to the Happy Farm?". Polly-O said that the Happy Farm is where he lives. Polly-O told them that they have a lot of cows and the main thing they make is string cheese. One brand is called Polly-O™, named after Polly-O, and the other one was called Happy Farms™. Bob asked "Do you eat a lot of cheese?". "Yes", said Polly-O. "I guess that's why the tutoring helped you a lot. The cheese made you much smarter", said Bob. "Huh, I never thought of that, but I guess you are right", said Polly-O. "Well, we still have a lot to learn about you, Polly-O", said
NEW PROVIDENCE, NEW JERSEY- This past Friday, on June 5th, the rain did not prevent Salt Brook Elementary School from inviting New Providence High School students from across town for a day of community service. It was the high school’s third community service trip of the year as students previously visited the Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside and Allen W. Roberts Elementary School. The 23 high school students on Friday’s trip took part in various field day activities such as the Bean Bag Toss, the Long Jump, and the Spoon and Golf Ball Relay.
Temperamental. He meant good, but I think he had a lot of complexes-know what I’m saying? Liked to read books by that Alaska guy, Jack London. Never said much. He’d get moody, wouldn’t like to be bothered.
Look, you, sir, a school ahead. The schoolroom is not quite deserted. A solitary child, neglected by his friends, is left there still.” Another encounter
Sonny Ropp It was Sonny Ropp’s first day of school. She was entered in the Bronx school system three weeks before prom. Inside, her stomach was being an attacked by butterflies. The butterflies were doing the heimlich, trying to make her throw up. Her cheeks were screaming in pain from her face being frozen by fear.
High school was a roller coaster ride for me, from the endless fun of parties to the minor breakdowns and panic attacks that would land myself in the hospital. The pressure and stress got to me and the fact that failing out of the school that I’ve been going to for twelve years with long life friends was coming to an end. Now that I look back at it though it might have been the best decision for my well-being because then I would of not been able to meet the people that I met at Chamblee Charter High School. You would think moving from a private to a public school would be a big cultural shock, you are very correct. Atlanta International School, which was the school I went for basically my whole life, was a very open minded, well rounded, and accepting establishment since the most of the students where from all over the world.
When it comes to sports my family has many ties to Middletown High School South. In the Going as far back as the 1980’s when my Dad attended the same high school. He was a standout wrestler for the team and was given multiple scholarships to wrestle in college. My family name is everywhere within the trophy rooms and walls of Middletown South. I am the youngest of three children with two older sisters coming through high school before me.
Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones was a large woman. She was walking home one night and a boy tried to take her purse. The boy’s name was Roger. He was the boy that tried to steal the lady’s purse. The woman fought back for her purse.
It’s Fall term at the Kent School. I’ve been attending there for about three months, and I have only just recently gotten adjusted to my new life for the next four years. In contrast to my old school, this new place is stressful. After strenuous weeks of tests, quizzes, cross country races, and, of course, sitting through chapel, having that Sunday to relax at the end of the week is a feeling I treasure. On these special days, having not much else to do besides homework, my friends and I like to walk into town and have lunch.
The next Monday morning, Roy woke up believing it was going to be a normal day. He expected classes all day, practice, and work at the movie theatre later that night. He arrived at school, with the principal chasing him down in the hallway. “Roy! Wait up!
The past four years I’ve spent at Pascack hills High School has matured me in many ways. However sports is the one thing that helped me grow the most as a person I don 't know what kind of person I would be if I didn 't play sports. Activities such as football, basketball, and lacrosse have done so much for me as a person. Without participating in these activities I wouldn 't have matured as quickly as I did in high school. I started football in fourth grade, and I can honestly say that, the decision of playing football in fourth grade was one of the best decisions I have made in my life.
It all started when my mom told me this: “David, you are going to spend your eighth grade year at Guilford Middle.” Guilford Middle School, my school prior to Holicong, was considered infamous by the community. Their horrible reputation mostly came from the gross condition of the school. The school was about a hundred years old and the walls were abundant with mold.
There it was, standing in the distance, a tall gloomy gray-colored building. With a few splashes of blue paint added to the dull cement to add color to what would otherwise be a lifeless building. This building was non-other than the one and only Stoller Middle School. I never referred to it as a middle school but more as a prison, it was full of rules that were put in place just to suck away any possible fun from a child’s mind. Maybe I didn’t like the place because I was suspended five times from it.
On the day of Mr.Hibler’s class Tommy and his classmates while waiting for the substitute to come
I was still in Bookman Road Elementary school my 4th grade year, I had the same teacher who taught me for my 3rd grade year Mrs. Tammie Hunter and had the same best friends. When I ended my 4th grade year at Bookman Road I was told I’m going to a different school; being young I was very confused but when the new school year started I then realized what my mother meant by a different school. That morning when school was starting I was excited, I’m going to my favorite school around my friends I felt like my 5th grade year was going to be the best year but that didn’t happen. When I was going to get ready I noticed a blue collared shirt and a plaid skirt, I was thinking to myself Bookman never had clothing like this it was a public school we
As a young adult, one of the challenges I faced is bullying. I was bullied in my primary school years, first grade to third, while attending a local school in my home town in Ethiopia. I don’t have a lot of memories from that time frame but I do remember the hardship and constant feel of demotivation. However, I also remember the numerous time my teachers awarded me gift as I would place first in my class.
