As a senior at Ashley High School in New Hanover County, you have to complete a senior project. This project singlehandedly determines whether you graduate or not. It was second semester, my classmates and I were sitting in Mrs. Ventre 's class knowing exactly what was coming. We were scared, nervous, intimidated, and so much more. The way she helped me through this huge project has stuck with me to this day.
If I had no friends There was nothing for me in middle school. Anyway I went into Coal Ridge a nervous wreck. I slowly figured out that me and one of my friends had all the same core classes as me. Imagine that you have been trying something hard for so long and then finally just quit. I have always had ok grades here at Lowell Middle School. this year I started to go in the lower range of grades like D’s to C’s. But other years at lowell schools were not even close to years like this.

When I turned into a freshman, I decided to transfer to a deaf school for my high school years and graduated there. By then, my struggles with my writing and reading were improving by working hard. IN my freshman, there was an English teacher, Mrs. Copeland-Samaripa, a strict teacher I ever had seen and I failed this class once because of lack of my doing in homework and tests. I didn’t want to repeat the grade so I decided to work hard by studying notes for test and turned homework in on time.
When i first started high school i was very shy and timid. I came from a small private school with a graduating class of ten kids and I had to make the switch to a large public school with a class of three hundred and fifty kids. I didn 't know anybody coming into a high school and it was really hard for me to make friends. I would never ask questions in class even if i really needed help. My freshman and sophomore year were the hardest years for me academically and socially.
When it comes to learning about history, students aren’t always excited to learn about the past and memorize important dates. When I was in high school, I wasn’t too enthusiastic to learn about our history. It wasn’t until I had my teacher, Ms. Diana Guerra, that showed me just how amazing the past can be. As a student who wants to pursue in education and possibly teach history, I took the opportunity to interview Ms. Guerra at Harlingen High School (HHS) to find out if this is something I would like to continue doing. After having a very exciting face-to-face interview in Ms. Guerra’s classroom I was able to realize that being a high school teacher isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be.
In 7th grade, I transferred from Bryan Middle school to Visitation Catholic School and there was not enough room in the accelerated math program, which ultimately set me behind. In high school, I found myself bored in math and knew I needed to challenge myself, so I ended up setting up a meeting with the math department head and we discussed my options. Sophomore year, I ended up taking two math classes, which was not easy; double the test, quizzes and lessons! However, by taking two math classes, I was able to get myself into a higher math class which ultimately was my goal, and achieving it was an amazing feeling.
Throughout my years I have achieved multiple academic awards and accolades. To get to to a point in my education where I was able to receive such great awards took serious dedication not only on my part but all the teachers as well.
