Can you guess where my first trip was to? In May 13, 2003, I had my first trip to El Paso Texas. I woke up at 8am I was super excited and nervous at the same time, because I knew this trip would be a great experience for me. I was going to take a plane for the first time. Me and my family drove thirty minutes to the airport. We arrived at the airport then we walked to the front of the counter to check-in the baggage and print the boarding pass. Twenty minutes later we board the plane. During the trip I watched movies and eat some snacks. During the flight there was some turbulence. That wasn 't a nice moment to remember, but I guess that was a part of the experience to travel in a airplane. That was a five and a half hour trip
Golden light from a Texas sunset illuminating stark white fields of cotton, green and yellow tractors leisurely making their way down the middle of Main Street, and a community that will always support you are just a few things one might experience if you came to my hometown in rural Texas. Matador, Texas isn't just a dusty old town in the middle of nowhere, it is a town that no matter who you are or what you are trying to do, hard work is always required; it is where I grew up from the day I was born, spent lazy summer days reading and writing abstract stories without distractions of people, traffic, or even the ever-present cell phone, and where I learned about a whole other side of society, one where the community gathers together for anything
El Paso and Ciudad Juarez lie side by side, but are separated by the Rio Grande. The border’s way of life relies on the dividing line. As a resident of Ciudad Juarez, I experience a blend of cultures on an everyday basis. However, in 2010 the unique culture of the city was darkened by the shedding violence in Ciudad Juarez. Ciudad Juarez came to be known as the deadliest city in the world.
Like anyone would be we were all nervous and we sat in a lounge for 6 hours, eventually it ended with my dad coming out of the room and explaining everything to us. Apparently TSA thought that we were carrying LSD and cocaine in our
The summer of 2016 my family and I took a road trip to Colorado. Colorado reminded me a lot of Minnesota but on a big Mountain. There are river valleys that are 1,250 feet deep to mountains that are 14,114 feet high. I climbed a mountain in Glenwood Canyon.
This year during college summer break, my friends planned a trip to Dallas, TX to visit the place, where former US President “John F Kennedy was assassinated. President Kennedy was shot dead on November 22,1963 by Lee Harvey, Oswald. Dallas is a three-hour long drive from Houston, TX. All of us were excited for this trip. The trip was a success as for all of us it was a learning experience, as we visited the historical landmark of US history which has influenced us all.
Houston Have you ever been to Houston?I did last year when I visited my grandma’s house. When I was in Houston it was full of fun things to do. I asked my mother,”Which house are we going to first?”My mom responded,”Matagorda it’s six hours away,so go to sleep. ”so
We drove over to the airport the next morning to catch our flight to the tiny Alaskan village of Unalakleet. It was lightly raining as we walked onto the tarmac and into an airplane that held about twenty people. The flight was very bumpy, and the engine was extremely
You could hear some people snoring, and others giggling. We knew it was going to be a long 12 hours, but we knew it would be worth it in the end. Our first stop was in Salina, Kansas to stretch our legs, and use the restroom, and get snacks
I first notice the beachy of the tiny airport. It was so small you couldn’t even fit one plane in the terminal. My mom, Gunner, and I headed over to the baggage claim . While my dad went to go rent a Ford Fusion. I was standing around awkwardly twiddling my thumbs since my mom and brother didn’t need any help.
One summer day, out of the blue, my dad decided to take us to South Padre Island. Summer vacation is always a stressful time for me. I’ve always wanted to experience something entertaining, but I never seem to enjoy trips with my family. We complain a lot and don’t get so well along. Everyone I know has really interesting vacation stories in which their families enjoyed awesome adventures and created unforgettable memories.
Stepping off the plane, I dialed the first number on my phone. "Hello? Brooklyn, how was your flight? Did you freak out? Wait, did something happen?"
San Antonio It was five months after I realized that we were serious, five months and two days both of our families were getting together to go out of town to San, Antonio Texas. You have to take the time to realize it was both of our own families together who have hardly ever met, to be together for two days. Though I was nervous, it never scared me for the fact that it was her I was going to be with for two days. The day came, it was the mid-July up at six am ready to hit the road ready for this small getaway.
Having known our hostess family for a very long time, and Vancouver being only a five-hour flight away, it did not oppose a large issue seeing as I was twelve and she was almost Sixteen. On the day of the trip, we gathered our things and were driven to the airport by our parents. Eventually, after a lengthy lecture on behavior, safety, and using common sense and being smart; they finally let us go and we were free to roam around in the airport until the nearing time of our flight. As we walked toward our gate, where we would be
I can recall that the car was a little stuffy with the defrost heater going. It also didn’t help that my mom, dad, brother, sister, and I were all packed in it. My siblings and I were singing the entire way there since we were so excited to see grandma again. An hour later we had made it to the airport.
After two or three hours in the airport the the plane was boarding and was ready to depart to America. I really hated the flight from Dubai to the U.S because of so many babies crying and I couldn’t get my sleep. Good thing I brought my headphones on the flight because I could hear the constant bawling of babies. When I woke up in the flight I had been served with a delicious meal of steaming rice
