The day is spent on an American street that portrays the Spanish culture in a marketplace. Where you can buy anything, but the customer is never to pay the asking prices, so the father haggles the price of the Zapatos (shoes) he wanted. Cofer also uses Spanish words in as she expresses the cultural role of women, in her story “The Witches Husband”. Her grandmother is elderly and taking care of her sick, grandfather, so she goes to Puerto Rica to convince her that it is time for here children to take care of her because she is getting to old to take care of her husband who had dementia. Once she has established the theme, in the story, she then refers to her grandmother by the Spanish name Abuela and describes her life and role of mother and wife as Latino women.
Some would say ignorance is bliss. While some may disagree with that statement, in the case of Jean Louise Finch —known as Scout in her childhood— the main protagonist in the novel, “Go Set a Watchman” by Harper Lee, that statement is upheld. It is a sequel to the novel, “To Kill a Mockingbird”. The story begins in the 1950’s, as Jean Louise is returning to visit her hometown of Maycomb, Alabama from New York City. The book “The House of Spirits”, by Isabel Allende, is the story of the Trueba family and the chaos happening during the story. The patriarch was Esteban Trueba is narrating the story from his wife’s point of view, from the journals she kept of everything around her before her death. Esteban's wife was named Clara, she had special abilities that let her predict the future and communicate with spirits, she is quiet and caring and is the only one who calms her husband down. Esteban is a hot headed man who runs for senator and has specific paths for his family, which they do not follow. The trueba children are Blanca, Nicolas, and Jaime they all deceive their father by not following his views and opinions.

Maybe she thought if the fence was finished it would keep Troy away from Alberta, his mistress. However, once his mistress had her baby the fence kept the remembrance of the affair inside. Rose had to take care of the baby because Alberta died while giving birth. Troy’s baby, Raynell, was the living figure of the affair and it was inside the fence for Rose to always think about. R/s Nicole was staying with her grandmother Aracelia Lira in SC, but she has been out of home for at least one month. R/s Omar Guevara (father) has legal and physical custody of Nicole, and has not given consent for Nicole to be in SC. R/s Omar lives in Bronx, NY. R/s Nicole is trying to obtain her social security card and birth certificate because she wants her SSI check transferred to Barbara Davis.
Jeremiahs ' mother deceased and was cared for by his grandmother who is now deceased. The court gave custody to the aunt (Latanya), but she has not been living in the home. Latanya lives in Jackson, MS, with her boyfriend, and is employed in Vicksburg, MS. Latanya would visit the home in Vicksburg daily. Jeremiah is being whooped by the other aunt (LaShonda) with an extension cord and anything else.
The Continuum of Care Program would have been beneficial to Liz Murray’s family, as well as, herself after her mother’s death. Liz Murray spent much of her early life in an inadequate apartment on University Drive in Bronx, New York. After her mother moved out, her father could no longer pay the rent which resulted in him living in a shelter. After her mother’s death, Liz Murray was homeless and sleeping anywhere she could manage to lay her head.
