My journey with Chick-fil-A began when I was 16 years of age. Even as a teenager, I understood the value of a dollar thanks to my parent’s direction. I wanted to have the freedom of driving my first car and beginning my financial future. As soon as construction began on Reynolds Road FSR, I recognized I wanted to work there. I completed my application online and delivered it to the trailer marked “Now Hiring” in the parking lot.

My high school graduation, state championship banquet, and late night food runs throughout high school were all catered by Chipotle. I’ve been involved in so many delightful conversations and learned so much about my friends and family over a hearty meal from this restaurant. The service is amazing, the atmosphere is great, but the food is what brings everyone together. All the food Chipotle offers mixes together perfectly and you can always finish your meal off with their queso. I cannot think of one time that queso was not smothered all over my burrito bowl since they started serving it.
In the near past, chipotle was owned by Mcdonald's, suddenly their CEO decided to separate from them due to the bad quality of the mcdonald's food industry. Chipotle over the years tried to make their food as the most fresh and best when it comes to the quality of the food and they have been succeeding in their plans. After finishing classes that day, I didnt have much time for eating lunch so my options were not a lot, which is why I chose chipotle. I had a couple of friends with me, and we ordered several orders to share. To try the best thing they had.
As I look at this picture, it makes me think about the time I took responsibility for my little cousins. This picture was taken the day I took cousins to Chuck E Cheeses for the first time. My family lives in Oregon, but my extended family lives in California, all around the Bay Area that’s where my family is from there too. While I like Oregon, I try to find any excuse to visit California. So two years ago during spring break, my sister and I decided to go to California.

This past week, I conducted an informational interview with Aaron Riipa, a Sourcing Manager in Media for General Mills (at their headquarters). I first got into contact with this person by meeting another employee at the same company. The other worker was speaking to one of my student groups and after chatting once the meeting was over he thought it would be helpful for me to chat to another person. Aaron is head of supply chain recruiting at the U for General Mills and as he could be the one hiring me someday he was definitely someone I needed to speak with. He was perfect for me as he started out in buying and now is in sourcing, which are two paths I am considering taking.
It has been twenty years in the making to create myself. I started out sheltered. So to say, hidden from the real world. Being born and raised it out it the middle of a corn field was rough, but not what you would consider rough. It was all about take it or leave, or fix it or do without.

Prompt: The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience? “It 's not about how bad you want it. It 's about how hard you 're willing to work for it.”
Then in 1998, McDonalds invested $360 million into Chipotle, allowing it to expand rapidly. The Chipotle Mexican Grill experience is an introduction to fast food 2.0, a new version of chain eateries that focus on quick, fresh, and hip food for us young people. Chipotle has behavior norms in which its employees are expected to display within the restaurant, this includes official characteristics the firm requires them to exemplify (parature.com). These characteristics can be found in table #, they are not only important for customer service but also the career path that Chipotle provides for its top employees. Chipotle has a reputation for great customer service because they understand that they are only as strong as their strongest employee therefore they pay their employees on average more than their competitors. For example a line cook at Chipotle makes $10.93/hr while its direct competitor Moe’s Southwest Grill pay their line cooks only $8.38/hr
This provides a valuable tool for molding the kind of success-orientated culture at Chipotle. This leads to maximization of profit, reduction of turnover, and improved employee satisfaction and performance through retained knowledge, skills, and experience of long-term employees. The net effect of these communication and management methodologies is to ensure that services offered to customers are of the highest possible quality. For example, 84% of the customers spend less than five minutes waiting to be served.
Introduction The restaurant industry in the United States had annual sales of $ 631.8 billion and employs 12.9 million people in 2012. Even in times of recession there is little evidence that this industry has seen a decline especially in its fast food and quick service segment. But with a depressed economy with no immediate upward trend in the near future, majority of the customers indicated that they would either curtail their spending on eating or best maintain its current level which is certainly going to affect the future of many restaurants in the industry. Chipotle is part of the fast casual segment of the U.S industry with over 1,600 restaurants.
