For many many years I was always seen as the player the team called on to pull the team out of a rut. To make things a bit more complicated my high school coach had been my coach my entire softball career. He knew how I thought, how i played, and really molded me into the player I am today. I soon graduated from my little league summer softball to the competitive nature of highschool ball. As a freshman I knew I was going to be overlooked.
This place has been my home for years. I play softball because of the love I have for the game, and because of the feeling that takes my breath away every time I step onto the field. The softball field at Glendale Community College is now my new home for the next two years. Hearing your name being called and lining up alongside the first base line with your teammates before the game makes you feel worthy and excited to play such an amazing sport. As we gather in a tight circle just before we rush to our positions,
This made me want to play softball, so I could be just like them. I wanted to play third base and pitcher because my mom played third base and my dad was the pitcher on their team. Once I started playing in a summer league I mainly played third base and sometimes shortstop, but I still really wanted to pitch. I was playing fast pitch, so it was a different style of a pitch than my dad did on his team. After about a year my pitching dreams came true and pitched a couple of innings in a game.

I attended my first Astros game at the age of nine. The popcorn scented air paired with the roaring of fans drove me to fall in love with the game of baseball. I learned of the bases, pitches and catches in minutes and immediately planned my own life to follow baseball trail. For months I begged my mother to place me in a little league. She was reluctant at first and impossible to convince when told the price of little league fees.

Little did I know that it would be filled with new experiences, intense moments, and even become a yearly family tradition. I had never experienced how a college atmosphere felt until that breathtaking game. There were thousands of energetic teenagers all around me cheering for Clemson. Everyone I met on the Clemson campus was polite and had welcoming smiles on their faces. I had never experienced so many people in one place all supporting their favorite players.
I have been participating in at least one group sports team for as long as I can remember. If it was not baseball, I played soccer and even football for a year. It was nice not being forced into to doing any particular sport by my parents. I was able to choose what made me happy. Me my dad and my brother played catch with a small football all the time in the back yard up until about sixth grade.
