I am doing well this week, I am getting better at setting and accomplishing my daily goals and my time management seems to be improving. With the help of some online tools and determination I have been able to focus and not put off my work. There is still a lot of room for improvement that I will continue to address. I think the StrengthsQuest was somewhat accurate; it helped me indentify what motivates me, the type of environment that I would most likely thrive in, and how my strengths can help me succeed academically, as an example: “competition”, which is one of my signature strengths implies that I am more likely to be fulfilled in an environment where performance is monitored and rewarded, such as a bell curved class. My strength in “command”
The strengths that were identified this time taking the assessment were all characteristics that I strongly identify with. The most recent assessment showed that my strengths are, in order, Futuristic, Context, Relator, Restorative, and Analytical. This is in comparison to my 2014 results of Includer, Harmony, Consistency, Relator, and Analytical. My 2014 results were much more reflective of someone in the relationship building domain, something that I would actually consider myself only competent at, if not a weakness of mine. I am solid in those aspects, but thought that it overestimated my capabilities
My signature theme strengths are as follows: Context – I strive to understand the what, when, who, and where of certain events. I have always loved history, studying the past helps me make sense of the future. Futuristic – My futuristic strengths include feeling great about life, I love living day by day to the fullest. I get energized when making plans for my son’s birthday, or the upcoming year.
Were you surprised by the strengths identified? Overall, I was not surprised by the strengths identified after completing the assessment. The five strengths identified included: achiever, learner, focus, restorative, and futuristic.
At this time of year, I begin to look back at my life after 12 hard years of schooling. Throughout the course of my life, there have been many ups and downs, but these up and downs is what made me who I am today. These influences have shaped my values, attitudes and beliefs towards life. There have been many important people and events that has impacted my life. One of which is family and the media.
According to my strength finder survey, some of my strengths is being competitive, an achiever and a maximizer. Some weaknesses was paying attention for a long period of time, getting stressed easily and reading. There have been both internal and external factors challenging my success here at Georgia Southern. Internal factors have definitely challenged my success here so far. The amount of stress just makes you want to stop working and never go back.
Goal Number One I didn’t know it yet, but the way I viewed the game of lacrosse was about to change drastically. It was a normal day for me. I was in eighth grade, and I was getting ready for school.
My strength finder results gave me a valuable insight into the type of worker I am. I fully agree with the achiever title, I often put in twelve hour days at my job, not just because of the extra money, but there is a lot of work to that I have been assigned to do. I have leaving task unfinished or completed late, I know it happens to all of us from time to time, but I still beat myself up for it. As for belief , I create my children for teaching me to enjoying the simpler things in life , spending a night at home baking cookies and watching a movie together is something we will all remember over a an expensive toy that will join the others in the toy box graveyard . The explanation about being a developer is something that almost describes
Being self-aware of one’s own strengths in the nursing field is extremely important for the nurse, their patient, and their peers. Some people may even suggest that understanding one’s own strengths is necessary to develop a meaningful nurse-patient relationship (Rasheed et al., 2018). Therefore, taking the Strengths Finder quiz can benefit the nurse, patient, and healthcare team in its entirety. I learned a lot about myself and how
My strength in writing are all over the place, I feel like I am good at choosing the right words for what I’m writing, at least the words that are in my vocabulary. I hope that I can get better at writing essays and the more serious assignments, I also want to get better at writing book style writings, like having to write like an author of a book I’m reading to write a “chapter 0”. I think I haven’t really changed my thinking of my writing, I just write to do it, I don’t analyse my writing unless it’s something I’m really interested in. Organization helps me, or it hurts me, my disorganization that is, I’m very disorganised if you couldn’t tell by now, my brain is always everywhere, and so are my possessions, and my writing. My brain is all over the place just like my work, my PAW lessons are staggered between one attempt perfection, and ten attempts with
When I took the Strengths Finders quiz, my five strengths were Strategic, Futuristic, Individualization, Competition, and Achiever. So, my initial reaction was that I wasn’t too surprised but it was interesting. Most of the results, I already knew about myself, but what stood out to me was, it was all true! As I’m reading the details of my results for my strengths, I’m Strategic person.
a year ago, I was in high school working towards accomplishing my long-term goal of graduating high school with honors and a maintaining a high GPA. After years of striving for my goals I graduated top of my class, was accepted to the colleges I applied, and I was awarded with a few scholarships that helped me pay for all my college tuition. Going into my freshmen year of college I felt proud that I honor the chance to continue my education because no one in my family had ever attended college. As time was approaching for me to begin my journey as a freshmen, it was time to begin the next goals. The most important long term goal for me was to pass all my classes with an A
It’s almost the end of my sophomore year and I know Ii didn't do well this school year. I went through a lot but I’m proud of myself for another school year almost done. This year I’ve realize that Ii need to try more and focus better.
A sense of accomplishment is invaluable to a person. Not only does a sense of accomplishment build confidence and faith in oneself, but it also allows one to reflect on how wonderful the journey to the accomplishment was, and how every little struggle and triumph was worth it. In the middle of summer, where time seems endless and the stress of the previous school year has been shed by students, I never expected to find out that I scored a five on both of the advanced placement exams I took. Nor did I have one-hundred percent confidence the goals we set as section leaders of the marching band would actually be met. Yet to my surprise, I had the good fortune of accomplishing challenging things in both aspects of my life.
Strengths: As a student one of my strengths is organization. I can say I can keep my school materials and notebooks organized in a way that I and others can comprehend. The reason I can say I am organized is because, I have hardly ever had in the past or present any issues with trying to find homework or assignments because I always kept my materials for each class organized and in a place I could easily find. Another strength I have is social skills. I can believe that I communicate with others well in a group.
Growing up I faced many challenges in life, and nothing was really that easy at all. I guess you can say I was one of those kids who didn’t have the choice to act mature. My life was full of constant challenges, from not having anything to working for what I have now. Around 2006 my father was offered a better job in North Carolina, and my parents decided it was for the best. One night we packed our things and headed out for a “better” life.
