Traveling, the number one activity that most people love to do. I actually like to treat myself, by traveling to a different city every other month. This is my way of relaxing and detaching from my daily routine. This past summer, my girlfriend and I decided to travel to Detroit, Michigan. Detroit’s reputation as you may know is not that great. I actually read an article after booking my flight that Detroit came out in the top ten most dangerous cities in America. But guess what? My trip to Detroit was the best trip I had so far.
In summary, on 09/21/15 at 0418 hours I was patrolling the area of 1600 S. Laramie Ave., at which time I observed a male subject with a youthful appearance walking northbound 16th Street. I made contact with the subject, at which time he identified himself as (Rosas, Alexis DOB 04/21/97). While speaking with Rosas, I detected a strong odor of fresh cannabis emanating from his person. Rosas related he had some cannabis in his sweater pocket. I recovered a silver box containing a green leafy substance from Rosas ' right sweater pocket.
My Michigan Hero I want you to think of someone special, to think of a hero. When I think of a hero I think of my dad. I remember when I was younger, and I didn’t like to read. My dad taught me just how amazing reading is.
I have lived in Michigan for my whole life. The state of Michigan itself is a very unique place, but even more unique is the upper peninsula of Michigan. The UP is barely more than three percent of the population of Michigan. We 're known as Yoopers, many people think of us as rednecks that sit around and hunt all day. Though the opening days of hunting season means most of the teachers are gone for hunting, there is a lot more to the UP than hunting.
My Personal Michigan Hero I can feel my brain being over run by lesions. This is one of the ways my dad, Tim Huyge, jokes about his dieses M.S. He was born in the 1970’s in a hard-working middle class family. After high school, he went to Grand Valley University, and worked as the manager of T.J.Max. Until he had to retire because of his M.S.
It was a hot summer day in August when Anthony, and I woke up to prepare for our adventure in Michigan. We packed our bags because we knew we had a long day ahead of us; a three-hour road trip. As we finish packing, we realize that we needed a few things to eat, so we stopped by Cermak to get some fruit for later. We bought bright-red strawberries, a nice small cantaloupe, and a medium light green watermelon. We put the bags in the trunk and start heading toward the highway.
I have lived in East Oakland my whole life. To the majority of people, the mention of East Oakland evokes thoughts of violence, shootings, and gangs. I was one of the people who believed in these stereotypes, and for a particularly long time. I was one of the people who saw Oakland as a wasteland, a place with nothing to offer me, and a place I had nothing to offer to.
I grew up in inner city Baltimore Maryland. Neither of my parents were or are followers of Christ. They divorced when I was very young. I spent most of my life moving from place to place with my mother and two brothers. I gave up on high school when I failed my freshmen year.
“ Watch Out!”, my pa yelled as a tree fell down. That is how most of my family’s trip was in 1855 when we traveled from Pennsylvania to Illinois for free land. Hi i’m Bill. I have one brother a mom and a dad. My mom has blond hair, short, and brown eyes.
There are some people that I can’t imagine living life without. I can’t live life without my friends from school, my blood family, or my dogs. Though I cannot live without any of the entities I just listed, there is someone that I know, this person is special. This person has left a big impact on my life, and his name is Jody. I remember when me, my mom, my sister, and Jody would go to Culvers every week that I was with my mom.
Outside of Michigan, I’ve traveled to Ohio, Florida and I’ve studied abroad in the Dominican Republic for four months. The Dominican Republic was fascinating! The people were kind, our excursions were memorable, and the warm weather was incredible! The only con was the abundance
Like the classic saying has it “You can take the kid out of Brooklyn but you can’t take the Brooklyn out of the kid.” Same goes for Chicago this is my story. I was born in the windy city, on the south side. I wasn’t there for that long I was there till my fifth birthday, and then I moved to Boston, Ma with my mother, sister and I. However, I believe that south side raised me because every winter and summer vacation I would visit my grandmother or as she liked to be called “Mo-Mo” While visiting her I’ve seen some pretty harsh situations.
One night, during the cold winter, I walked along the side walk to reach the local store down the block. As I walked out, before I can realize it, I was dropping down onto the concrete while bullets swiftly passed me. I then began to run back home, but I wanted to keep running. Away from Chicago, away from the west side. Growing up in Chicago, it was easy to assume that there was nothing different beyond the blocks of my streets.
Running up and down the wooden stairs, so that I can pack for my trip to Miami. As I a throwing my clothes into the pink leopard suitcase, I just sniff baked bacon from the kitchen. I knew mama was cooking breakfast before I leave for Miami and therefore I had to put something in my belly before I took off. I am really excited to go Miami this summer because it is the most southerly city in the United States. Miami is a memorable trip to me because of South Beach, the varied of restaurants and the Everglades.
Across the Country There will be a journey from Sacramento, California to the state capital of Madison, Wisconsin. This journey will be taken by 4 very different individuals. of course, they're my team vessel for this road trip is a tanky little van built to use as little gas as possible with no flattering to its physical Beauty. Of course, they go over the things they need for when they are up on the trip up. The seminar they plan to intend involving many things from proper police conduct to ways to quicken legal proceedings.
After weeks of torturous homework, exams and assignments, high school was finally over! Summer holidays here I come! My family got plane tickets to Miami Florida. The land of beaches, sun and fun. We are heading to the airport in three hours.
