Everything happened last summer during vacation. Every year my family plans some wild, adventurous trip, and last year we were going to visit some of the states in the northeastern United States. The trip was going fine until we arrived at the state of New Hampshire. We were going to camp there for a few days, and that was when my parents announced that we were all going to climb Mount Washington. I was not too thrilled by this idea, in fact, I was relatively annoyed.
Originally, I had to work on weekdays. However, due to the clashing with my summer course schedule, I had to give up on a few days of my work in order to attend the lectures. Seeing as my friend was desperately looking for a job, I introduced her to my boss and applied for her to become my replacement while I study. She eagerly accepted. On the eve of her first day of work, I
During the time while I was on leave we decided we wanted to take it to the next level. He was so anxious for me to arrive back on camp. Once I got back to camp that weekend we spent our weekend watching The Grim together. It was a perfect moment no interruptions just him and myself. From the time I left we tried to see each other as much as we could.
I wanted to stay in New York City so badly that all but one of the colleges I applied to during my senior year were within three hours of Manhattan. All but the one I ultimately chose, Minerva, a liberal arts university where undergraduates live and learn in seven cities around the globe. I had always fantasized about travelling the world — who doesn’t? At the same time, I wasn’t a seasoned global traveller like some of my Minerva classmates were even before they came to Minerva. Though I had briefly visited Europe, taken a two-week bus tour to Toronto with my family, and flown back to China every few years to visit relatives, I had never really felt at home anywhere but New York.
On Saturday March 24th I went to the Thien Hau Temple in Chinatown. I went to the temple with my friend Bianca and I met up with Tyler in our class. When we were first given the assignment I knew I wanted to visit a Buddhist temple because I know they have beautiful architecture as I’ve passed by a few in Los Angeles. I don’t know a lot about Buddhism except for the few things I learned about it in middle school. I wanted to visit the Hsi Lai temple in Hacienda Heights, but I couldn’t due to time restraints.
Not long after I was born I was sent back to China where my grandparents raised me. My grandparents told me that I was sent back to China, is so that my parents can go to work, to raised me and my grandparents. In the time I was in China I had been through preschool and the first year of elementary school, and it was not long after that when my parents said I can come and live with them. Through the eight or nine years, I had only come to America
It all started with the line, “I’m craving some ice cream”. This summer I went to the beach for the first time without my family. I guess my mom finally thought I was “mature enough” to go to the beach with her watching my every move. My friend Savannah invited me and a couple other people to go with her on her senior beach trip, since we just had graduated from Florence High School. The group consisted of Mandy, Ashley, Savannah, Savannah’s parents, and I.
Finally,I said to myself,my parents and I were going to disneyland. It was a surprise when I heard my friend Ally was going on this trip with my parents and I. At 8:00 we went to go pick her up.A couple hours into the trip we hit traffic. It felt like we were never going to get their, with the breakfast break, lunch break, and the bathroom breaks. As I was looking out the window I saw a little dust storm that looked like mini tornado. Then my mom's key battery was low because she took the wrong one,she left the another key that had new batteries in it at the house. So we had to stop at the auto shop. For the rest of the trip me and Ally just binged watched movies on my computer. When we weren't watching moves me and my mom were arguing over the music radio.

I was born in Northwest China, in the province of Jiang Xi. Eighteen years ago, my parents had decided to adopt from China after finding out they were unable to have children of their own. After researching about adoption agencies, they found an agency in Texas. Gladney Center for Adoption, forwarded my parents information on two twin girls that needed a family. It was love at first sight and they planned their trip.
During the offseason, she would take small vacations to go with him to travel the world. They’ve traveled to Paris, France, Ireland, the Bahamas and Portugal. Jimmy proposed to her in Portugal on May 4, 2024. They got married on July 4, 2025 in her hometown, New Bedford, Mass. They spent much of their time on the road but they always
I was particularly interested in Flagstaff and its importance as a vacation area. The presentation by the Chamber of Commerce was very worthwhile. It surprised me to learn that skiing is one of Flagstaff’s top winter tourist attractions. No one would think that skiers would come from such states as California, New Mexico, or Texas to ski in Arizona. I would
I remember the day I received a little yellow paper that said, “Cinthia Gordillo you are eligible to participate in commencement.” I started tearing up because I knew that I had accomplished one of my dreams as well as my mother’s dream. My mom decided to leave her home town in Honduras because of the lack of jobs and violence. I was born in Madera, CA four months after my mom migrated to California. Growing up my mom emphasized the importance of education however, out of her six children I was the first one who decided to pursue a higher education. Three traits that identify me are achiever, learner, and diversity.
Being able to live in Arizona provided me with new opportunities. For instance being able to attend East Valley Institute of technology . Also having the opportunity to be on the track team my freshmen year which was always goal of mine. Truly, I am glad my family and I moved it gave me time to spend with my grandmother who was there for me every day and even a phone call away. My favorite part of the move was knowing that I was going to have a new home and new goals.
