Fourth grade was a strange year for many of us. People moved away and new people came to school. Some classmates came back from summer with an extra foot against anyone else. Some changed for the better or for worse. People gained and lost friends throughout the year. I was on the worse end of that deal. At my little elementary school of 280 students, we had three choices of foods hand 4 choices of tables to sit with friends at. My choices were more limited than everyone else's. Only 2 choices of foods and 1 choice for a table. My “favorite” table, though it was my only choice, was the No Peanut Butter Table. It was supposed to keep us with allergies safe from the dangers of the peanuts. While it did complete that goal, it failed to realize
Recently the public school districts began enforcing a stricter meal policy, however it doesn’t go far
My best pecan fest was this year when I was in 6th grade. All my friends and I did was ride the zipper until it closed and we were the only once in the cart of the zipper. When I was in the line for the zipper with autumn this people through snap and pops at us and they hurt. When we got on the zipper and it started going they tried to throw it up at us in the zipper cart, and one actually came in our cart put it didn’t pop. When we got off the zipper they were still there and they didn’t through it at us this time because we ran away to a different ride.
David Zinczenko’s essay, “Don’t Blame the Eater,” express the relationship between obese children and fast-food restaurants. Zinczenko observes that fast-food restaurants are located almost everywhere, are inexpensive, and are easy to access. Comparing that it is easier: to find a McDonald's, but finding an organic grapefruit will cause a scavenger hunt (463). Zinckenzo shares a personal experience of himself, eating fast-food for lunch, and dinner were his only options; resulting in him becoming obese in his early teen years. Thankfully by the time he went to college, he was able to turn his life around.
After realizing August was a newcomer to school, Summer was
On a cold and blustery November morning, I was walking around the Newberry farm searching for the perfect pumpkin. The farm owner, Mr. Johnson was welcoming and incredibly kind to allow me to wander wherever I wanted to on his farm. While walking, suddenly, I came upon the most perfectly shaped pumpkin. It was big and round and I knew it was Mr. Johnson’s best.
I strongly believe that the cafeteria menus should be changed in order to have a fair and much healthier lunch. Money may be an issue but there are plenty of ways to solve this world wide problem in the schools. Before there wasn't as much diversity and most people would have agreed to choose from two options what to eat. Now there are vegans, vegetarians, and plenty of allergies that could cause problems for someone
6th grade began and and with it started a new year. On the first day me and
Then I went back to my first school I attended Malakoff elementry. My pass and last two years of emementry school was the best. Fourth grade comes and turned out to be a good year with the teachers I got and my friends I meet were awesome and good people.
A lot of stuff happened in eighth grade, some good, some bad. For one good thing, every time at the end of quarter, we would do nothing and just play games, eat pizza, and watch movies. All the bad things I can think about is just the bad grades I get on test sometimes like that. So the goods outweigh the bads.
I left friends that I’ve known since kindergarten. So when the fourth grade started, I was completely alone. I had to get to know my surroundings, try and meet new friends, and figure out how things worked around here. Then in the seventh grade, things really went downhill. That was when everything started to change.
First, if the school eliminates the foods students' like then some might stop buying lunches from the
So, they established a bill to make schools feed lunch to it’s students (Creamed 1). Students in New York City were starting to be given the choices on what they were going to eat at lunch. On Tuesdays, students were given these choices for lunch; pea soup, spaghetti with onion and tomato sauce, white rolls, chocolate pudding, and milk. On Fridays students were then given another opportunity to choose from a plethora of foods including; lima bean soup, jam or fish sandwich, cream carrots with peas or cabbage, vanilla cornstarch pudding, and chocolate sauce (NYC
Have you ever wondered if you could ever change the school lunches in the Public schools? Well you’re not the only one, many other people thought about changing the way you eat at lunch and started to change it. Some trials have failed but some have succeeded at the trail for their public school. But some administrators what it to come to all schools, for the fact that they are losing money because kids stopped eating lunches at school.
I think the library could have left it at small snacks, but decided to go with a complete ban on all food. As an employee I can see a need for a food policy as some customers were disruptive and disrespectful with their food choice and tidiness. From pizza deliveries, eating fried foods over the
As 7th grade started, my social life came to a definitive close. I struggled greatly with friends, primarily because one of my good friends had left Trafton in 6th grade to receive home schooling, and because all of my other friends from elementary schools attended other schools. I attempted to reach more friendly terms with people who I previously
