Long ago, there was a library full of books.
These books were not normal.
They would drag you into their world and keep you there forever.
Years passed and the library vanished of the face of the Earth. 5 It is believed that if you search in a local library
You might find a book from that special library.
You may think this has nothing to do with our young heroine’s story,
When in fact it has everything to do with it.
Young Cassandra loves reading.
10 She devours books like a child with a sweet tooth devours
Their hard earned Halloween sweets.

Somehow, I am now laying in a white room.
My first thought is that I am in the hospital,
But that’s not right, I am not on a bed.
As I think of what I was doing last I remember the book.
45 The more I think of the book,
The more the space I am in resembles the setting.
Suddenly there is a hand in my vision.
“Do you need some help?”
The voice says, I assume it is a male

I say as he helps me stand.
“I haven’t seen you around here before, who are you?”
“I am Cassy, and who are you?”
“I am Zack.”

I turn around to face him,
“Why are you following me?”
60 “I was just wondering why you are in such a rush.”
“I am in a rush because I have to get home.”
“Ok”
I continue walking and end up getting lost in the woods.
“Hey, do you need some help?”
65 It is that boy again, Zack.
“No, I am perfectly capable of finding my way home by myself.”
“Alright, but I am just going to tell you
That the town is in the other direction.”
“Oh.”
I turn around and start walking in the direction he pointed me

In the short story “Eleven” the author, Sandra Cisneros utilizes several different literacy devices to bring to life the character of Rachel. The style of writing makes it feel like the author is relaying an old memory and telling the story from her 11 year old viewpoint and her adult viewpoint.

Once I discovered fan fiction, I began reading constantly, I hid the fact that I was reading from my mother in fear that she would tell me I couldn’t read on my own. My older brother, Mark was the only one I confided in about my recently discovered passion for reading these stories I had found on the internet. One day, while I was at the mall with my family I wandered off, curiosity had led me straight into Borders Bookstore. I discovered shelves and shelves of Buffy the Vampire Slayer novels, I couldn’t believe it! In the meantime, my mother had been so worried that I was lost or had been kidnapped that she sent my older siblings to search the mall to find me.
