I think the one that would be the most fun to explore would be Pompeii. Pompeii looks like a quaint little town with a lot of walking to do, but with walking comes adventure and with adventure comes fun! I noticed that in the Pompeii village where all the government buildings and markets where it reminded me of its own little town. I am sure the people of that town are very close together and help one another out when need be. I also noticed that there are many body remains, skeletal everywhere and different forms of clay art. The buildings look very ancient but sturdy where they wouldn’t be falling down anytime soon. I also noticed from far out a beautiful mountain that looked like it had snow on top of it. I am sure that Pompeii is absolutely …show more content…
It would be the Knossos because of their culture. Everything in Knossos seems to be original except for a few things, but it would be cool to learn about the paintings on the wall and on the pottery. I would like to travel the royal road and see what kind of luck that would bring me. I would be a tourist as much as I can before you could say that I am actually from Knossos. The birthing tree was probably the oddest yet coolest thing I heard about. All the women have to give birth at that tree and I am not sure if it is set up like that anymore but just imagine the stories that took place at that birthing tree. Also the scenery in the virtual tour is beautiful. I am sure the people there are full of energy and life because there doesn’t seem to be much toxic surrounding like here in America. Around the birthing tree is more architect and it looks absolutely stunning. I would love to live by here to experience all the things Knossos has to offer to their people and the tourists. I am sure it would be cool to hear the stories of the natives and see what they went through growing up there. I would love to experience the weather. I see many pics of the weather and it looks beautiful. I would hope to find a large space of water where I could just rest at and take in all the beauty Knossos has to

Of all the rulers in Plutarch’s Lives, Numa Pompilus was the one king who expressed characteristics of a true ruler. Numa displayed morality known by all the people in Rome. He was a peacemaker, which brought about a prosperous and joyful kingdom. Numa not only built on top of Romulus’s work to start a strong and powerful kingdom. Above all the rulers in Plutarch’s Lives, Numa Pompilus showed morality, good judgment, and self-sacrifice.
The best place to visit in Athens is Acropolis of Athens. This place, seen by everyone known by everyone, is the hotspot of Athens being on a hill of 156 meters. People love to see the view from that height and see the beautiful historic building. You can also visit temple of Olympian Zeus. This is another historic site that has a beautiful view.
Yellow Stone is an amazing national park. It is located in wyoming, USA and is very exciting. I went to Yellow Stone last year and it was awesome. We went to the hot springs, gysers, and we even got to see a bear and buffalo. Although we didn't stay there for long we still saw a ton of natral beauty.
If I had the choice to go anywhere in this world, it would be to have one more night with my dad in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Baton Rouge is my birthplace and me and my dad shared a bond with that city. It is where he wanted me to be raised, go to college, and raise my family. He dressed me up in the gold and purple ever since I was a toddler. Imprinted the plays of the tigers and their route running so I could watch the games with him and fully understand.

Persepolis Reflective Statement In the graphic novel Persepolis, Marjane Satrapi incorporates the theme of rebellion throughout the novel. She emphasizes that rebellion is key to her coming of age story and is important to everyone’s coming of age story. The first sign of rebellion is when she wants to be a prophet, women didn’t work, let alone become prophets, she establishes in this moment that she was different from everyone else. Her parents play an important role in her rebellion, they encourage her to rebel, to be “avant garde” (6/1).
One day, on an early Thanksgiving morning, my family and I, drove out of Valdosta to a farm. Our goal, wasn't to buy a turkey but rather goats, chickens, and a rabbit. At first, what I saw were a big empty land of dirt, plowed and perhaps ready for the seeds to be planted. Out further, I could see the woods surrounding the land and a gathering of crows flying and dancing, with the sun high in the sky. There's also was a small wooden house and cluster of cages separated by a big metal fence.
If I could pick where I would want to go back for a day I would have no problem deciding. It would be the Dominican Republic because I miss the crystal clear water and sun beating down on on me. What I miss the most is snorkeling in the water and seeing all the different kinds of fish. There were several ugly and pretty fish. My dad, mom and sister went there for our Christmas in 2014.
Are you visiting Rome? The city has many attractions. Vatican city, Colosseum, Stadio Olimpico, crusty thin pizza and many others. My personal favorite, and maybe the biggest attraction of them all is the Pantheon.
For example Sea World has been a favorite of my family. We have enjoyed the animal shows, but our favorite experience was feeding the dolphins. While the dolphins are busy eating the fish, a person can reach out and pet their side and that is not an everyday experience. San Antonio is famous around the world for the Alamo, but the Alamo is only one of five historic missions around the city. Another historic site well worth the visit is the Spanish Governor’s Palace located in downtown San Antonio.
Proving a Tragic Hero A character who makes a judgement or error that inevitably leads to his or her own destruction, defines a tragic hero, according to Aristotle. In William Shakespeare’s writings, one character generally identifies as a tragic hero. Shakespeare’s play, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, comes from the true events that took place in Rome during the time that Caesar rose and gained power as dictator. After Pompey’s death in Egypt; caused by each of their power-hungry desires, Caesar declared himself dictator of Rome.
Sometimes while writing a historical fiction, events become more factual than fictional. A perfect example of this happening in a historical fiction, is the book Pompeii by Robert Harris. Pompeii takes place in 79 AD during the days prior to the destructive eruption of Mount Vesuvius which destroyed all of the Roman town Pompeii. The location of the book are the cities or towns that surround the Aqua Augusta, such as Misenum and Pompeii. Harris’s exceptionally descriptive anecdote of the events leading to the volcanic eruptions implores readers to wonder if some of the events in this fictional story could have actually happened.
Critic Northrop Frye claims that tragic heroes “seem the inevitable conductors of the power about them… Conductors may of course be instruments as well as victims of the divisive lightning.” A perfect example of this assertion would be King Oedipus in the classical tragic play “Oedipus Rex,” written by Sophocles, where Oedipus, himself, becomes the victim of his doomed fate. As someone who was born and raised of royal blood, he becomes too proud and ignorant, believing that he was too powerful for his fate. Using the metaphor “great trees [are] more likely to be struck by lightning than a clump of grass,” Frye compares the heroic but unfortunate Oedipus to the great trees as they both are apt to experience victimization of tragic situations
All throughout history, occurrences of oppression and invasion have happened all around the world. The rights and freedom of innocent lives have been taken. The people with power have abused it and become tyrannical and self-centered. The innocent begin to rise against the malicious leaders trying to control their lives. Even through times of downfall and nonsuccess, humanity continues to fight back.
