Her knowledge was passed by her grandmother a great teacher to her. She influenced her granddaughter in many ways, such as her informal speech/slang (PoetryFoundation 1). Giovanni uses her slang as an indication of her culture, as is seen in “Legacies” she uses this in a line, ¨I want chu to learn how to make rolls said the old women proudly.” (Applebee 418) “Legacies” is just one illustration of the connections with Giovanni's life and works.
Another one of her favorite rap songs is Wishing by Chris Brown. Her best friend introduced her to both of her now favorite songs. Andi’s best friend is Hannah Gamberini. She met Hannah on December 12, 2015 and they have been best friends ever since. They do anything and everything together.
Then there 's Van, she was a real cutie. She 's too cute for words and her excitement and happiness I just loved. Aiden and Van 's chemistry was electric. I really enjoyed this book and the story of friendship to love. The long wait was really worth it and I cannot wait to read more of Author Mariana Zapata 's
She had a bad case of Alzheimer’s and always had a stoic look, but loved to play the piano. One day, another student rolled her to the piano and immediately she started playing it like a professional and she even had a tiny smile on her face. It goes to show that any artistic opportunity can make a person find
My grandmother, Sarah Adams Abernethy, has been traveling since her aunt took her and her sister to London when they were young. Ever since she has loved to travel. Two of her favorite trips she took were to Israel and Ireland. She loved Israel because she felt very touched that she was in the same place Jesus was once at. Her favorite part was either the Tomb in the Gardens or the Jordan river.
Because of that some people might avoid her company, but I love hanging out with her. If she sasses me, I sass back. We love to do so many things together. When we were younger we liked to talk about boys, listen to our cool stereos and our 8 track tapes, and watch shows like Gilligan’s Island and The Brady Bunch. Now that we are older, we like to shop at Target, sip on Starbuck’s mocha frappucinos, and talk, talk, talk.
She just had the biggest smile on her face. It definitely made me feel at ease seeing her and how happy she looked when I pulled up. The first thing she said to us was that she looks forward to this everyday. She was just so happy to talk to us. We decided to talk to her a little bit longer, because she just went on and on.
Feste used “virtuosity” with his humor, he really made the audience laugh. He is a prime example of a character who really manifested themselves. Another example of how he used “virtuosity” is with his body. He really made sure that his body was making the same movements as a joker
She uses ethos here because the speech is from a graduation and she’s an expert in graduating because she experienced it herself and she has an excellent life now. “Now all I have to do is take deep breaths, squint at the red banners and convince myself that I am at the world’s largest Gryffindor reunion” (Page 1, column 1, line 10-13) This is an allusion because it’s a reference to her well-known Harry Potter book series. This reference is very good, because many people know of her work and therefore they will relate to the content. “I have decided to talk to you about the benefits of failure. And as you stand in the threshold of what is sometimes called ‘real life’, I want to extol the crucial importance of imagination” (Page 1, column 2, line 11-13) This is a metaphor, cause it’s comparing graduating to walking through a threshold into ‘real life.’ This is effective because it shows that the students are about to leave the
Book Reflection #2 Selp-Helf I finished reading “Selp-Helf” by Miranda Sings, which is about her giving advice about being the most fabulous person that any human can be. Since she is a comedian, she is making up humorous ways to do everyday things. Such as ways to do your eye makeup and how to get a boyfriend. This book was hard to put down once I started it because I loved how I could hear her voice in my head saying all of these things. A question that I had while reading this book was, how does one person think of all of these creative ways to do everyday activities?
