The Ice Skating Rink My mom call me from her computer and said ,“Do you want to go to the Ice Skating Rink?” I screamed “YES!” I raced down the hall, I almost fell. Snowboarding I am on the slope of the first snowboarding run of my life, my snowboard in one hand, gloves in the other, as I watch people do tricks at the bottom of the hill. I strap on my snowboard and slip on my gloves. I have been preparing for this the whole week. I am ready. I get up and ease down the mountain, going slowly at first, then faster.
Through the windows, I feel the cool snow breathing on my neck. “Here we are! Loveland Ski Resort,” Mr. Dugan, the bus driver shouted across the intercom. My friends and I heard the sound of the emergency brake being set, and we hopped out of our seats. “Oh boy does that feel good.” I said to my best friend, Ashley, as I stretched out my body.
As a kid my dream was to become an NHL hockey player and play for the Detroit Red Wings. I would play rollerblade hockey in my driveway for hours acting like I was on the Red Wings. This got me interested in how this game that I love, came to be. Hockey’s origin didn’t come from one man or country, but from many different people, cultures, and sports and as it grew, it became a very serious sport in many areas of the world. Hockey’s beginnings and rules were affected by a couple of different sports.
We stayed up in our cabin and I brought one of my friends up with me. We quickly eat breakfast and slide on our snow clothes. We were ready to leave and take our very first class of snowboarding.
Most of my brothers tumbled out as the man stumbled for his Ski poles but I was stuck. I was consumed With panic, praying somehow, someway I would get out before I melt. As the man started to ski down the mountain again, I started to feel the heat. Boiling, sizzling, searing heat which I have never felt before, and don’t want to ever feel again. A weird sensation began to set in, like I was melting away.

Medina uses the snow color as an indicator of his tone towards each of his new encounters while in the United States. “I rushed down the steps of the plane and sink my bare hands into the snow, press it into a ball, and throw it at my sister”(72). Medina compels the reader to infer that the white color symbolizes his great feelings. As the story progresses, readers get a taste of Medina’s different moods and colors of the snow. As Medina gets closer to the city, his expectations, tone, and the snow color begin to alter.
I walked over to the starter hill, feeling the icy, cold wind. The first hill I ever snowboarded on was the conveyor belt hill. This hill had a conveyor belt that you stood on to take you to the top. And once I was there, I sat down to put on my bindings(the harnesses that keep you strapped into your snowboard.) I did some weird swivel movement to stand up.
After the recording sessions it almost became some sort of a tradition to go to the hockey games. That night after the game everyone was outside talking for a bit scheduling the next session and just debriefing on what’s been done so far. “Alright well time to go home. Everyone except Beau is getting dropped off by my dad right?” Everyone agreed and started walking towards the car. “Okay well see you all later.

Then they would go down the icy part of the mountain. Many injury’s happened and made the into attraction that made people all around want to go and show who’s the toughest.
