Whispers were heard throughout the crowd, students conversing with each other. Mrs. Underwood still continues to talk through the students though. People were eyeing each other, grinning. They already knew what was going to happen. “Okay, pick a partner and come see me.” The students rushing in swarming Mrs. Underwood. When the students got their group, they sprinted almost as fast a pack of lions swarming the carcass of a dead animal.

The day did improve, somewhat, as it went on and everyone was quickly enjoying themselves again as we attended the women’s Gopher game to watch my older cousin, Taylor, play. Throughout the game, I could still sense the agitation between Alex, my dad, I, as we covered up the awkward silences by burying our noses in our phones in between the periods. To end the afternoon on a high note, the Gophers played an outstanding game and beat Wisconsin in overtime. We all left the stadium in high spirits, reminiscing over the great plays and unforgettable overtime goal. At the same time, we were exhausted from a long day and ready to head home and watch the girl’s State Tournament championship game.

In the early 90s, Sarah declare she needed a desk. That’s all she had to say, and I started looking into building one. My last project was solid wood, and since I hadn’t done a project in veneer, I thought I would try that. I decided to make a drop-front desk and called a company in Pennsylvania that sold veneer. He said he had just gotten in a bookend piece of veneer that would make a beautiful front, and I bought it immediately.

Ever since I was young, I have always heard someone talking about Marquette. Part of this may be due to the fact that three of my neighbors have gone to Marquette and have absolutely loved it. Adding on to that, I have met even more people that have gone to Marquette that have really liked it and are usually successful in life. I met even more people at the Marquette open house that were from all over the United States and said they went to Marquette and they hope their child will attend Marquette as well. This made me realize that Marquette is truly local, since I know several people that have gone to Marquette that live by me and at the same time it is global, since I have met people around the United States, as well as other countries that
When I think about the person I am today I think about the people that have helped raise me. We all grow up with different experiences, environments, lifestyles, and people in our lives who help shape who we are. One person that has made a big impact in my life would be my nana and her name is Bea Wilson. She has been in my life since the moment I was born. My nana has shown me that you can make something good out of bad situation.
I have had many teachers throughout the years that have had a great impact on my attitude toward education. No instructor however has had such a huge impact in my life as Miss Mindy Sopher. I first saw her name as my academic advisor listed in My Pack Portal, or my online account at NC State. I had no idea what type of experience I would have with her. Last summer before my freshman year, I sent her an email introducing myself and she was quite impressed by my ambitions, especially becoming a “geographical engineer.”

Throughout the story, Melinda struggles to cope with the fact that she was raped by Andy Evans at a high school party. Melinda can be classified as both a round and dynamic character. A round character is classified as a character with varying emotions and feelings— someone whom the audience can understand and hear the internal thoughts of.
The story “Yours” by Mary Robinson is a short story about a married couple spending their Halloween evening together before the death of his young wife. His wife was suffering from cancer. The story starts with Allison, the wife, coming in from getting pumpkins for the evening events with her husband. She walks through their home where she finds the mail. She finds a letter from her husband’s relatives who saying awful things.
