Opportunity is something a person can not leave! If it is great enough, any thing is worth the risk for it. In the 1840 's the gold rush was something, it was a opportunity. Over 300,000 people were after the gold is search for a better life with riches. If I was in this time, I would have went to California because of the chance. Although many were found out of luck, it would be a 50/50 chance in which I would be able to become a millionaire.
