Justin, Ramon, Victoria, one after another. They all are presenting their exit project on one of the special movement in American History. Three more people and it was my turn. It was hot summer that and I believe that the air conditioner in the room wasn’t working, but who needs an air conditioner anyway? There was an air conditioner already fitted inside me. I felt like It was winter in Russia. All the veins inside my body stopped delivering blood and all the senses inside my head arguing over who should operate the red button. Here, I am sitting down with all my body hair spiked up and not knowing how to feel. One more person to go then it is my turn. I wish I had supernatural power that I could I use take myself inside the earth and give
Rebels Without a Cause Not very many people have affected me in the same way as my friend Jake Fernholz. I have never realized the influence he has had on me until someone pointed out that we talk and think the same way. I only met Jake two years ago in track, when a pulled hamstring injury caused Mr. Kellerman to have me practice with the long distance kids. Mr. Kellerman forced me into staying on the long distance team and that is where I started to hit it off with Jake. It took me a long time to be comfortable with Jake, but when I did we quickly found our common interests.
My Argument Stephen A. Douglas I didn’t want slavery to spread into other territories. Let’s spread slavery into the west, and other places. I’m more honest than many other people. I tell it as it is. It’ll show the world that we’re dominate.
I am the soldier Jacob Raymond, who fought in the French and Indian War along with the American Revolution. Life in the colonies after the French and Indian War was wonderful until Britain passed the Proclamation of 1776. Parliament passed this law in order to stop us from moving west towards Quebec. This made it more difficult to farm and was starting to upset many of the colonists including myself. Next, the Sugar Act was passed in 1764.
Several individuals from different ethnicities, races, and citizenships, compose a society. The United Sates allow us to have a close interaction with numerous individuals from diverse backgrounds. In my own case I have been able to interact with many incredible individuals from all over the world who come from extremely different backgrounds. I am a proud Mexican who cherishes respect towards diversity. Coming from a very suffered country I am able to understand not only what does it means to feel proud to be a Latino, but also I can feel acquainted with the pain and struggle that our community has to face every day.
Baseball is what many call “America’s Pastime”. It is the game that never fails to bring me from the highest highs to the lowest lows. The second that you think you are the best, the game will humble you. When you are at a loss for confidence, you will do something amazing that will turn your game around. Nothing beats the smell of the spring air, the dirty pants, the laughs with teammates and the glory of winning.
The new American hero (Just a quick look) Can you see the handsome young man sitting by my side, driving through the forest, behind the wheel of his decadent truck? Yes. I would trust him with my life (sip of vodka).
When I was in the 2nd grade i went on the most intresting field trip. I was surprised that my parents paid a lot of money just so i can go to the Lincoln Memorial. I can not expressed how i was feeling at that age, i was so happy. I took my bestfriend Jack, he did not have to pay a single penny. Our school was on fall break so that is when we went so i spent my whole break with my best buddy.
When I arrived in the U.S at age 12 ½ it was a huge adjustment for me as I did not speak English. I was suddenly living with a family and not in the orphanage that I grew up in. it was hard for me to leave my orphanage in China I had lived there my whole life and thought of the orphanage as my home. After being adopted and now living in America I have so many opportunities I did not have in China.
Remember a time when I first discovered that the world was stranger as I was a baby hearing noises and seeing objects for the very first time. As a child growing up I began to understand the use of the noise and the functions of the objects. I notice the world was strange by the different colors and patterns while looking outside. The world seems strange with the different races, height, and sizes of the different race. It 's seem strange that people of different races spoke and wrote in different languages.
I was sitting outside my beautiful-golden-yellow, color-of-a-biscuit, house. When I saw a ocean of blue, walking up the hill. My dad yelled at me to come inside, but I watched in amazement of seeing this big ocean just rising up like bread in the oven. I knew something would happen in the next few days, just not like it happened. It happened fast, too fast.
Today’s event was a crucial part in communicating our distaste to how Great Britain is taxing us. I have a feeling that this will act as an importing stepping stone in the future of our colonial rights. After the Townshend Duties were dropped, except concerning tea, Great Britain has had the audacity to still try to warp our minds into buying from them. Although the Indian tea is cheaper and much more flavourful than the Dutch tea we have secretly been importing, we colonists have decided that there is no way we are buying anything that Britain has had to do with. Although I am weary from the excitement today, I can’t help but smile when I think of the clearly defiant message we sent the British.
January 11, 2013, I wake up to yelling, prayers, and crying. I walked into the kitchen where all the noises were coming from and I found my mother on the floor crying, talking on the phone with my godmother. My father was there by her side, trying hard not to cry while supporting his wife. I didn’t know what was happening, this was the first time I’ve seen my mom so vulnerable and broken. My parents didn’t tell me anything other than my grandmother was in critical condition at the hospital, but with god's help she would overcome this hard time.
Have you ever wondered what would happen if the world was completely submerged in water today? How would you feel if your racial background dictated whether or not you were rescued? Even worse, what would you do if it dictated if you lived or died today? These are some questions that are present when hurricane season comes around every year. In todays society these are things that we should not have to consider since this is a forward moving generation.
Today has been marvelous today and I am so glad that this Emancipation finally happened. All of my son’s hard work has been payed off and his honor will now be remembered. Since, I can recall my boy, John, would do anything for what he believed in and this was one of them. Which was this country and the abolishment of slavery. His main focus before the war, was helping escaped slaves get their citizenship.
History Shapes The World Everybody has a history. Everybody has experienced something that impacted them. History is what makes you, you. It shapes you.
