Soccer shaped a lot of who I am, soccer has taught me how to commit, know when to make a move, and it has made me tolerant. Soccer is all about commiting to the ball, if one was to hesitate while going for a goal it will not be as powerful. I bring that into driving, school, talking, and writing. Along with committing one has to know exactly when to commit. Soccer is about timing, if I get to a certain position is a certain amount of time I will
Ethical issues in sports Sports in today’s world have gained a lot of importance and there have been a lot of additions to sports in the form of new rules, policies the way it is meant to be played etc. Though many stringent laws are framed, implemented and monitored there are always some sort of issues in the way the sports activities are carried out. Regardless of the level of participation some of the players resort to unethical ways of winning the event. The attitude towards the sportsmanship has changed significantly over the years.
Not only are education and sports a big focus for me but also working the hardest I can. I have always heard the stories of people whose lives could have ended up horribly if it wasn’t for their hard work and perseverance. Lastly, something my parents taught me to do was to always do what you love and go after what makes me happy. I have never done anything because my parents wanted me to, I have learned to follow what I love and work hard to achieve what makes me
Our society is captivated everyday by the shows and sports on television. Between these shows are advertisements that display ongoing issues around the world, asking for donations to help. Now think about that game between the Lakers and the Warriors you were just watching on ESPN, for an hour athletes were playing a game but earned millions in that short amount of time. Now just think, what could happen if we placed limits on how many assets can be diverted into professional athletes to ensure that more important needs can be met in our society.
In our own town, this is apparent. There's plenty of athletic kids who have their own personal trainer, who train so they can make it big in sports. The lure of athletic scholarship can be harmful due to kids training their whole life and then not receiving one can cause toxic and harmful behaviors in kids and adults. The sports programs are a vital fundamental in universities as they bring attention and fame to them. Every university is best in a different sport and some even play a sport that others don 't have an interest in like Polo. There is another thing that is important to the sports program which is the mascot. The mascot is the face of the school like how the Texas Tech is the "masked raider"(Texas Tech, Masked Raider) or like how Sam Houston is the "bearcat"(Sam Houston, Mascot). Texas Tech is most famously known for their "Olympic sport in Soccer, Volleyball, Softball, and Track & Field" (Texas Tech, Olympic sports).
Now I play soccer for the Oskaloosa team and I have played for them every year in the spring and fall. We have had a pretty good team through the years and we win more games than we lose. But I enjoy playing for a bigger town because the competition is a lot harder than Sigourney ever was and it makes it more of a challenge. Some people think I’m crazy for driving to Oskaloosa after school for practice but I think it is well worth the drive.
From someone who was insecure about his racial and social status in society, I found soccer to be a liberation from my anxieties. My talent for playing soccer has inevitably given me a lifelong warranty of friendships that appreciate me for my talent and looking at me as an admirable soccer player – not an immigrant, not as the new
Golf is my thing. I play to have time to myself to think, I play with family and friends for fun, and I play to hone my skills and be the best possible contender I can be when it comes to the competition side. So when I think about my personal biggest failure that I can recall, I would have to say golf is involved. My team at school is very good, we have heated tryouts every year just to make the team. As a freshman our golf team won state and I feel like that really set the tone for what was expected of the rest of us for our high school years.
