For the type of learner I am, distracted learner describes me the best.
The following reasons helps me focus. First, I am more focused when I listen to music. The music calms me down and will make me work faster.
To continue, when I’m on technology, I work faster and I focus better. People say if you hold a book beside a computer, you will more likely look at the computer than the book. Next, If what I am learning interests me, I am likely more focused on that. (E.g; If we are working to making our own dubstep, I would jump at that subject :D) At last, If there is nothing bothering me, I would likely be focused. These are the best ways to get me
I have always been fascinated with technology from a very early age. I remember one day when I was in the third grade, I was intrigued to see my Dad typing something strange in the laptop and it magically transformed into a webpage. Being naturally inquisitive, I later found out that the strange script was written in Java and this started the exploratory journey to learn more about the various aspects about web technology and programming. My parents bought me a Java book and I was quickly able to write basic code, which then led to me learning much more in the AP Computer Science class. This interest in technology made me do well in my classes, since they were all mostly themed on IT.
Academically, I have taken eight college level courses and have been enrolled in mostly honors class since my freshmen year of highschool. However, I have always feel like there are numerous areas I need improvement on. One aspect I want to improve on is my writing skills. Throughout my entire highschool career, I have gotten comments that my essays contained awkward wording, confusing sentences, and poor grammar. Going forward I want to improve on my writing and have the essays read nicely.
Focus on what you want and life and achieve
My Last Rebuttal: They said how everybody with dyslexia can easily read cursive, my mom was dyslexic, and she knew a lot of dyslexic people, guess what, none of them could read cursive and still struggled with it after they were taught it, so no, it isn 't easier for everybody with dyslexia to read cursive. Heck my mom still struggles to read cursive and so do all of her friends.
I believe that I have learned many useful lessons this semester. At the start of this semester I honestly did not know how to write a proper essay. There were several big problems with my writing style. My poor grammar and lack-luster writing skills were a real problem. I feel more confident now that I have written some decent papers and come close to completing my first English class.
Oops! Not again! It seems every time you write a paragraph you mess up, with the most obvious mistakes, like comma misplacing, transitions, conventions, and sentence fluency. In the past I have made quite a few mistakes in my writing. Hopefully, I can fix my weaknesses.
For me, what I learned doesn 't necessarily come from the book or the actually content of the course, but rather from the individual exercises and writings. I 've learned more about myself than I was expecting. Granted, I have learned the content, but to me it 's more of a refresher with a few new terms and explanations, than learning a whole new subject. As I said, my biggest takeaway is what I 've learned about myself.
As a child, I was exceptionally shy. I had extreme stage fright as I grew up. Having taken piano lessons since I was four years old, this was a significant problem. Taking piano lessons means performing at recitals, and being an active member in the LDS church, I was expected to play special musical numbers in church as well as accompany singing in Young Women’s and seminary. I finally decided it was time for me to face my fears and become used to performing.
One day, I was out with my family at a French bakery. As I opened the door, the sweet scent of baked goods entered my nostrils, an old man approached and he said thank you in a very thick French accent. I asked the old man if he was French and he replied with “oui je suis français”( yes i 'm French). I responded with “ Je ne suis pas français mais je peux parle français”( I 'm not French but I can speak French) .
Do you have major current issues? I think we all have current issues that should be prioritized than some. We all have a phase in our lives where we are very busy. I for one have no doubt that I am going through this moment.
Self-discipline helps me with this because instead of wasting my time with something meaningless, I budget my time between my homework for all my classes and can exceptionally complete everything I need to for school. Focus helps me with this because when one is on the computer, there are a great deal of distractions. Focus lets me ignore these wastes of time and concentrate on my assignment, instead of watching videos of pigeons play ping-pong. As a result of doing these simple things, I complete assignments on time, never freak out about tests, and earn stellar
Technology stimulates my imagination. Technology is also fun, because you learn more, and can experience more on computers, because computer is Technology. You can apply for jobs, and schools using technology. There is all type of technology. That’s all the world be on.
From the day that you were born, you were taught right from wrong. But it’s hard to always do the right thing, In this paragraph I’m going to tell you one of the times where I decided to do the wrong thing. It was midway through grade three and I had become sick. Not serious, just a fever, nothing some advil couldn’t fix.
A self-directed learner constantly engages in four core activities: Planning, Organizing, Monitoring and evaluating his learning processes (Corno, 1989; Zimmerman and Paulsen, 1995.) Being self-motivated and directed entails using all skills that enable one to metacognitively, motivationally and behaviouraly participate in one’s own learning process (Zimmerman, 1986.) An active learner knows what to study, how to learn; they are confident in the effort they deploy towards learning. Some recognize the fact that effort and effective strategies are some of the key factors that determine who a self-directed learner is.
Everyone has had faults and accidents in the past, making many emotions some of which are laughter, happiness, sadness, and sometimes regret. Then you ask yourself “If it was worth it ?” or “Why did i do that ?” , then you look into your faults and fails deeper and realive that feeling, most times laughing it off because it’s silly to you now. You can become melancholy to the fact that you embarrassed yourself in that moment, the other feeling could be the wishing of not doing that or that you would’ve done something else.
