Is it ok for kids to play tackle football under the age of fourteen? Kids should be aloud to play football because it has become safe since concussions from football were proven to be a problem. Football leagues have made rules to try and prevent players from getting head injuries. Football has evolved into a safer sport. Kids under fourteen should be able to play tackle football because it teaches teamwork and competitiveness.
Ever since I was a toddler, I loved sports. Baseball, basketball, it did not matter; I just liked to run. When I was around 4 or 5, I was in the living room watching the Steelers play the Cardinals and saw Santonio Holmes grab a game winning touchdown to win the Superbowl. I was so excited that I jumped up in the air and I told my dad, “Daddy when I grow up I want to play football and I want to score a lot of touchdowns just like 10 does.”
Have you ever played tackle football? If so you should know that playing at a young age can cause damage to brain as you get older and older. Kids that started before the age of twelve have been proven to have a damaged brain as they get older. Kids of such young age should be able to play football but maybe flag football is better to start with. For parents to keep their children safe they should not let their kids play tackle football until they are twelve.
Introduction It was the beginning of my 5th grade school year, and I decided that I wanted to begin a new sport. On the first day of practice, having never played the sport, our coach lined us all up on the field. Our team had a quarterback from the previous year that was returning, but he had no one to back him up this season. As coach Link stood back to examine his future team, unexpectedly, he pointed at me and said, “you are going to play quarterback”. Excited, reflecting back, it was one of the best moments of my life.
Early January, I’m watching the AFC wild card playoff game, the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburg Steelers are going down to the wire. With under thirty seconds to play and the Steelers down just one point, they are invading into the Bengals territory. On First and ten, the Pittsburg quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger drops back to throw. Antonio Brown, the Steelers star wide receiver and one of the league leaders in receiving yards starts his route. After running vertical for ten yards, he makes a hard cut towards the middle of the field to get free from the Cincinnati cornerback.
Youth Tackle Football Why the interest in youth football lately? Youth football has been getting a bad rep lately because of concerned parents. Parents of football players are concerned for their child’s safety while playing tackle football. Plenty of cities and towns are banning youth football, because of concussions.
The best leader I’ve worked with was my Junior High Football coach. My coach used the Path-Goal Theory. I hated football and saw no future for me in that sport. I was teased and literally quit the year before at a different school. I heard about try outs at another school and decided to go.
Young boys go full force in everything they do, and football is no exception. Most boys will start playing at age five, beginning the blows to the head that continue each year they participate in the sport. Young boys do not realize that concussions each year are greatly detrimental to their developing brain. Playing tackle football before the age of twelve can lead to negative cognitive effects and memory decline later in life. Playing tackle football has an overall negative effect on the cognitive and memory aspects of the adult brain; therefore, the age of players needs to be increased above the age of twelve years old.
My teammates and I finally reached the Atlanta stadium, the head coach told us all the formations, plays, strategies, and who will be starting. When I heard "Eric Marshall will be one of the primary and starting receivers," I almost jumped in joy, because it had been a dream to play in the super bowl. As we walked into the stadium to practice, I could hear fans screaming, many of which were cheering for us. I felt as if we could not lose or we would let many, many people down. While Marcus and I were doing some practice plays, I felt great When our rivals, the Patriots came in, they looked as if they have been training for this moment for their lives.

Football is a very popular sport. I only played football for two years, but I still very much so believe I am literate in football. I started out just being a huge fan of football, but I decided when I was a junior in high school to start actually playing. I was awarded “Special Teams MVP” of my team senior season, and I believe this award only goes to further my claim that I am literate in football. I began playing on the varsity team as a junior, with no prior football experience ever.
As a little boy I had big dreams of playing football. When I was walking in the halls of the intermediate and middle school and saw the high school football players with their jerseys on, they were like super stars. I looked up to them because I wanted to be like them. The high school football players were popular, they were happy, and they were important to the school. Going to the football games on Friday nights was the highlight of my week.
